Topic : Being a Good Friend

 trust, affection, comfort, help, and companionship.
I have a few good friends, and I feel very fortunate to have found them, or that they found me.  They have been there for me a few times when I really needed them.  I've learned to love them inspite of  some of the things they do that I don't like or agree with, just because I like who they are as a person and how easy it is to talk to them about anything. 
So, to me friendship is answering the phone at 3 in the morning and driving over to your friend's house to be a shoulder to cry on if it's asked of you, or getting into your winter woollies and helping dig them out of a snowbank when you really wanted to stay home and watch tv.  (My friend did that for me!)  Friendship is a different kind of love.  A friend is someone who chose to stay in your life because they like you even when you don't agree on everything, someone who knows how to keep a secret and who tells you their secrets because they feel it is safe to do so.  It's the person you go to for advice or moral support.  They are very precious to me.

  

No one has ever shown me about being a good friend except my Husband and I am very thankful for that.  As far as female friends I have never had a true good honest friend.  All the females I have met seem to have "issues" that they are not willing to work out.     It seems to me that alot of women just are not interested in thinking about wanting to be friends with someone.  In my case I just have never come across a true genuine person.  I am 36 and have not given up and hope some day I will be able to find a friend who is interested in being a friend.   

 NO WE HAVE NEVER CROSSED THAT LINE. WE NEVER EVEN THOUGHT ABOUT CROSSING THAT LINE.

I met my friend on this board and it was the best thing I could do was to contact her and chat on a regular basis, because she is unbiased and very understanding. I am so happy to have met my friend Tina on this board because even though we never met, it feels like I have known her all my life. She is a very special person to me and listens to all my stuff. That is what a friend is all about, being there and listening and supporting you through every trial and tribulation!!!!! Thank God for Friends!!!!!

This is an email from my friend When I was little, I used to believe in the concept of one best friend,and then I started to become a woman. And then I found out that if you allow your heart to open up, you will see the best in many friends.

One friend is needed when you're going through things with your man.

Another friend is needed when you're going through things with your   mum.
  Another when you want to shop, share, heal, hurt, joke, or just be.One friend will say let's pray together, another let's cry together, another let's fight together, another let's walk away together.

One friend will meet your spiritual need, another your shoe fetish, another your love for a good laugh, another will be with you in your   season of confusion, another will be your clarifier, another the wind beneath your wings, another your mentor.  But whatever their assignment in your life, on whatever the occasion, on whatever the day, or wherever you need them, whether to meet you with   their gym shoes on and hair pulled back, or to hold you back from making a complete fool of yourself ........ Those are your bestfriends.
  It may all be wrapped up in one woman, but for many it's wrapped up in several. One from 7th grade, one from high school, several from the   college years, a couple from old jobs, on some days your mother, on others your sisters, and on some days your daughters.So whether they've been there 20 minutes or 20 years, pass this on to   the women in your life to make a difference.Time passes, Distance separates, Children grow up, Love waxes and   wanes, Hearts break, Careers end, Jobs come and go, Colleagues forget favours,
  Men don't call when they say they will BUT...Girlfriends are always there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you. A girlfriend is never farther away than needing her can reach.
The world wouldn't be the same without them, and neither would we. When   we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other. Every day, we need each other still.

Well, to me friendship is being honest, sincere, respecful, understanding, compassionate, but most of all communication.  You should be there for your friends in good time and bad.  Try to do what you can for them when in need.  Myself I have had some of my friends ranging from 5yrs-28yrs depending the age I was at the time.  The longest friendship I ever had and still have is with my sister-in-law Rosalie.  She introduced me her brother when I was 17yrs old and we ended up getting married and having children.  My husband and I ended up seperating for some time and my friendship with her did not change as a matter a fact still was as strong as ever.  I am now back with her brother and of course our two lovely kids are older.  But guess things happen for a reason.  Now we are together once again.  It's amazing what faith and hope can do.  But most of all believing and with Gods help I got through it all with the help of my FRIENDS. take care.  xoxo
