Is everything in your life feeling predictable and humdrum? Are you lacking excitement in your job or in your marriage? Well, Bishop T.D. Jakes, author of Reposition Yourself: Living Life Without Limits, says you have the power to create the life you want! Bishop Jakes has one of the fastest-growing mega churches in Dallas. He’s a moviemaker, playwright, Grammy winner, best-selling author, and a person who inspires Dr. Phil. Get to know Bishop Jakes as he and Dr. Phil speak with guests who are ready to reposition their lives. First up are Kelly and Bobby, who are on the verge of divorce. Kelly wants out of her marriage because she says Bobby is not providing for the family, and they’ve acquired a huge amount of debt. Is divorce the answer? Next, Hunter says he’s the most negative man on the planet, and he’s been mad for 10 years! How can he escape his rut? Then, if you own a gun and keep it in your home, Tiffany has a powerful message you don’t want to miss. Can sharing her tragic story save her from the guilt and self-blame she feels? Talk about the show here.

Where's Jesus???

I love TD Jakes, POWERFUL teacher of the gospel......If DR. PHIL is hanging with him....you better bet he's definetly a christian...THANK YOU DR. PHIL & ROBIN . this would needs more like you....ROBIN, I READ YOUR BOOK..IT INSPIRED ME SO MUCH TO DIG DEEPER WITHIN ..I KNOW THERE IS MORE TO ME THAN I HAVE LET SHOW UP TO THIS POINT IN MY LIFE...GOD BLESS

You have got to be kidding me?  TD Jakes is a PATHETIC excuse for a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Jakes is so busy plugging his humanistic "reposition yourself" nonsense that he completely makes a mockery of calling himself a man of God.  Furthermore, it's disappointing Dr. Phil is so enamored with this guy that is leading millions of people to eternal condemnation.   This woman who's child shot himself was self admittedly  having a "chrisis of faith"... this was an engraved invitation to tallk about God, but instead, the only nonsense that came out of TD Jakes' mouth was pop-psych trash.  Not once did he utter the words "FAITH" or "GOD" or "PRAYER" or "GRACE" or "MERCY" let alone profess the only hope any of us has and is our relationship with God the father through Jesus Christ the Son.  What kind of a "teacher of the Gospel" is that??  What a beautiful opportunity to preach the Gospel and actually have God heal MILLIONS of viewers and instead he wasted it because he is more absorbed with and enamored with his own wisdom and fame instead of the glorious almighty God.   Listen up TD Jakes and Dr. Phil.  The only "repositioning oneself" that will do any good at all is when we as humans reposition ourselves with respect to God and put HIM in the middle of our lives instead of following our petty pleasures and desires and then depending on humanistic, flawed wisdom to get us out of the hole we've dug for ourselves.   Everyone on Dr. Phil has the same basic problem.  They are self absorbed in SIN and they can not see the wreckage and damage it does ot ourselves, eachother and ultimately God.  This include Mr. Jakes, because he has forgotten (or never really knew) who is in charge.   People don't need pop pyche... they need a SAVIOR.   In His hands,   Now-I-See

It seemed to me that they tried to skirt around the truth, and the word of God with conventional pseudo-chritian wisdom.  If it were me I'd reposition myself in the will of God, and in his word.   I would have told that woman who lost her child that death is not the end, and that according to Jeremiah 29:11 he has a hope and a future for her.  To the woman wanting a divorce I would have told her that according to Malachi 2:16 God hates divorce, and to the deadbeat husband  I would have told him that according to pretty much the whole book of Proverbs that fear of the Lord brings wisdom.

Forgiveness of yourself

Quote From: ecorinthos

Tiffany I completely sympothize with you. I too had a child who died in a similiar matter. It was 2 years ago and I lost a bright outgoing 2 1/2 year old son to an accidental gun shot. I know your thought because I have them also I live my nightmare everyday and wish that I could redo it. But each day I fight to go on for my other children. Please keep your head up and if you ever need to talk I would love to talk to you.
My heart goes out to both of you.  When things go wrong and we feel responsible. The hardest thing we will ever have to do is forgive ourselves. We feel that somehow we don't deserve forgiveness. That it would almost be a betrayal to the person we hurt if we did. For some reason we deserve to punish ourselves for the rest of our lives. Forgiveness of oneself is necessary in order to move on in a healthy and positive way. We learn early on in life that actions whether intentional or accidental have consequences. You both have payed the ultimate price. You have suffered enough. Now comes the time when you must forgive yourselves for what happened. In no way shape or form does that mean forgetting. It means that you will have to come to terms with yourselves and decide what you can do to move on from here. You both have already started that. Tiffany you chose to share your heart wrenching story so that hopefully other children can be saved. Ecorinthos you have shared here for the purpose of comforting others who may have lost a child the same way. By your actions you both have showed a great deal of remorse for what happened. When a person who has done wrong by you and shows sincere remorse don't you find it in your heart to forgive them. By holding on to the pain of a single moment in time, you cloud the years of happy and loving memories of your children in a cloud of darkness. I'm sure  they would give you permission to forgive yourselves. I sincerely wish you both and your families a lifetime of happiness, love and forgiveness.

Dear Tiffany & Dr. Phil

I just watched your show tonight, and I  have to tell you that I have NEVER been that emotional before when watching Dr. Phil, and I haven't missed an episode in years. I was a complete wreck for about an hour after hearing your story, and I'm worried about having nightmares tonight.   I am still a sobbing wreck as I write this, and I am just so so so sorry to hear about that.  This is the only message I've ever posted, and probably ever will.

I am THE MOST forgetful person I know, and if I was in your situation that night, I would have forgotten about it, too.  I dont have a gun, b/c I'm scared of them, but please realize that 3-year-olds can hurt/kill themselves with knives (which are silent) too.   It could happen to a lot of people.

I think the reason you saw him, was so that you could see that he was not in a lot/any pain, and also so that you could see that his last thoughts were of you.  I hope that you are able to get to a happy place someday, and I hope more than anything that you will forgive yourself for being forgetful.

Dr. Phil,

I almost question whether or not that was too painful to put on T.V.  I'm serious.  I felt nauseous, and just fell to pieces at the visualizations of that story.  It's like I could see it like she did, and it was too much.  I shouldn't feel this bad after watching your show.  I usually shed a tear or two, but my husband had to kick me out of the room after this one.

People like you really aggervate me.  First of all, have no clue what you are talking about with Bishop Jakes and you need to watch out what you are saying about a person God is useing in ways you could never understand.  Second of all, I use to be a member of the Potter's House Church and HUNDREDS of people get saved EVERY WEEK under Bishop's ministry.  How many people have you led to Christ?  That is what I figured.  When your ministry is as effective as his, then critique him.  However, until that time, you might want to try and learn a few things because what he is doing is actually working.  With a church of 30,000 members and hundreds of ministries that reach out to the city of Dallas, I think he must be doing something right.

Dear Tiffany I am in Australia and we have only just viewed this show and I have read a lot of the messages about this story BUT my heart goes out to you  I know all about the blame game and the what if game I have played the over and over for the past 15 years I beg you to ignore all those ignorant people who say that the gun owner is responsible IT WAS AN ACCIDENT you have already been punished as much as any one person should be   To all those great people out there that blame you for that tradgedy then they must have the most perfect and guilt free life that I have ever heard of.

Tiffany's story may have saved my child

I am a mother of an almost 3 year old son and expecting another in a couple of months.  My husband is often out of town on business and we live in the country.  I have discussed with him about getting a hand gun to proctect our family.  When I heard your story I felt it was a message directly to me.  It opened my eyes to the dangers, and I feel that the same thing could happen to our family.  I was raised around guns-the dangers and to respect them- and feel that I am extremely careful and knowledgable about how to handle a gun and the dangers, but I could see the same thing happening to me, as I dash out of bed to tend to another child forgetting that the gun may be in child's reach.  I just want to thank you for sharing your story and wanted to let you know that your son's death may have saved mine, and I thank you for that from the bottom of my heart.  My prayers are with you during this hard time. And THANK YOU,THANK YOU!

Jody
