Topic : 10/01 Jena 6 Continues

It does not matter what people say or do. People can prove themselves to be brainless idiots -- as these white kids did -- all day long if they want to. However, NO ONE should EVER be the victim of violence regardless of what they said or hung in a tree!! The black kids are GUILTY of a much worse crime!! We should've learned in grade school not to let our enemies know that they bother us. The black kids should've just continued to sit under that tree whenever they felt like it. If the white kids then decided to go further and commit violence...then THEY'D be in jail.

I see so many people who are expressing my beliefs on here but they do have very differnt ways of going about it. I am white so if that offened anyone I am sorry. Ok, let's forget about race right now and say that everyone was one color. Would we then have a problem that must be settled in court? Yes, it is only b/c six men attacked one man. If it were six whites who attacked one black, then what would be cryed in the streets? THINK about it. On another note teh man who pull teh gun on the three black students did it purley out of self-defence and the accusations towards him need to be dropped, due to the fact that if he did not act out of sel-defence he would have been charged by the police. If the school had addressed the "white tree" from the beginning this issue in this form may not have occurred. The school, the parents, the community, dropped the ball and did not take the stand in addressed separateness. Yes, kids you do in some cases that kids self-segregate. However, it was reinforced when the school stood by and did nothing.

honstly this hole thing makes my head hurt...the fact is that what the white kids was very very very bad and they should be punshed for the nooses...what the black kids was very very very bad and they shold be punshed for beating up that kid...how to we expect to change anything if we settle our dissagrements with vilonce....what is this teaching theese kids...its ok to beat up someone if the offend you as long as your not the same skin color as they are....this is yet another example of people demanding justice but not being willing to admit that what they did was wrong....how did it become ok in the countery to use race as an excuse for a crim...how did it become ok to clame that just cause your black that means your being discrmanted agenst...if you want no demand equalty then u must be willing to take the punshiment that is given to you..you cant say we are all equal then fire off that your being discrmanted agenst just because you dont like the outcome...this hole thing is bs...both sides should be ashamed of them selfs...if that was me i would move from jena and never tell anyone where i came from....it doenst matter if is a small town or a big town theres alway going to be a divied untill we all agree that we are equal and take what ever is passed our way with out clameing that its wrong becaues of our skin color

We need to think of everyone as being colored no one is exempt. Some are colored white, some black, etc. We are all different and we all need to accept that fact. I grew up in Virginia, and had a very close friend that was black. She was a very driven person; intelligent & talented. Our friendship rose above the race issue. It was told to us by her friends, who were black, that she was acting "too white". I can't believe the stupidity of that statement. When has being educated, intelligent, talented TOO WHITE? All of a sudden she could not hang out with me. I do not have ill feelings towards my friend, it just seems ridiculous for people to act that way and discourage what we should have been doing all along, overlooking and appreciating our differences. Could you imagine what we could learn from each other, how much we would evolve as persons in whole?

I have been listening to this show, and with every minute I get more angry. I am a native american/white, and every time I hear about a black person, or a white person getting upset about the way that they have been treated at school or any where else, I blow a fuse!. People like Al Sharpton, or Jesse Jackson, only fuel the fire, in my opinion! Kids will be kids, the way they are raised is the way they will treat others, or deal with others as an adult.

Hi, I am a Louisiana resident although I do not live in the city of Jena. I am definitely NOT racist, we were brought up that ALL people are equal. My father was a Fisherman from Lafitte, Louisiana and employed any race that wanted to work. I can honestly say that there is a lot of prejudice in this country still today. However, it does go both ways, I DO NOT BELIEVE IN SEGREGATION. I firmly believe that ANYONE who is from the South darn well knows that hanging a NOOSE FROM A TREE WOULD MOST DEFINATELY BE A THREAT TO AFRICAN AMERICANS. Regardless of what anyone on the show says, there is absolutely NO REASON WHY THEY SHOULD NOT PUBLICIZE THE PUNISHMENT FOR THE WHITE STUDENTS. I know from experience, I worked in the Jefferson Parish Clerk of Court's Office for a few years, I was also a Minute Clerk in the Courtroom and then worked for a Lawyer. So I am familiar with some of the laws. I believe that even the threat of hanging those NOOSES in that tree is EXCESSIVELY WRONG. And, I believe that all the WHITE STUDENTS AND PARENTS SHOULD KNOW THAT!! We do not need this Country to start to fray at it's edges, and begin a RACIAL DISPUTE ALL OVER AGAIN. I think it is high time to look to the good Lord, and pray and believe, and love thy neighbor. Do you think God is going to take into consideration whether you are AFRICAN AMERICAN, CAUCASION, CHINEESE, JAPANEESE, GERMAN, JEWISH OR MUSLIM when the time comes for JUDGEMENT. NO WAY, God will take in consideration how we lived our lives, we all sin on a regular basis, but we should learn from those mistakes and thrive to do better. However, I believe HATRED IS A HORRIBLE SIN!! I honestly believe that all parties in this situation need to be punished in proper form. I don't think that the WHITE boys can be charged legally for hanging the NOOSES in that tree. But surely there is something that can be done, these teenagers of today need to learn that freedom was never FREE. What the African Americans went through in the earlier years (slavery days) is awful. I don't agree with what happened one bit. Now currently we have moved pass that, some people will never forget, just like the Bombing of the Twin Towers in New York City. We don't need to create havoc and fighting and hatred in our communities or our country for that matter, we have enough people outside of the UNITED STATES THAT TRULY HATE US AND WILL KILL ALL THE AMERICANS THEY CAN REGARDLESS OF THEIR COLOR OR RACE. "THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES NEEDS TO COME TOGETHER AND STAY TOGETHER AND LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT WE ARE UNITED AND WE WILL NOT RUN, WE WILL STAND OUR GROUND AND CONTINUE TO DECLARE OUR FREEDOM!" MAY GOD BLESS ALL THE INDIVIDUALS AFFECTED BY THIS SITUATION IN JENA, LOUISIANA.

All I know is if this were the other way around NO WAY would anyone be applauding the release of the convicted white kids, Not to mention would any of the kids be released. They would get punished to the fullest extent. ...GRRRR. And that jerk off al sharpton, why isnt he screaming HATE CRIME now?!?! Why because now it was justifiable in his eyes. It just makes me so sick this situation, Once again even tho the white kid is the victim people are making him think he should feel guilty. I haven't heard one thing about this justin barker kid with a violent past! And another thing about this stupid tree, I would like to hear from one person who didn't go to a highschool where every clique had a certain hang out spot, whether it was certain tables, or a certain corner or whatever. I bet you 95% of the school wasn't expected or welcome under that tree, thats just where the kid and his friends happened to hang out, so what if they werent black....
