Friday's debate over the Jena 6 grew so heated, the Dr. Phil show needed to keep the cameras rolling! Now, see the show that happened after the show, when Dr. Phil returns to the stage and speaks with audience members on both sides of the issue. White supremacist Richard Barrett is the first to demand the spotlight, and you won't want to miss Dr. Phil's laser-sharp response. Then Dr. Phil has some hard questions for the attorney of Mychal Bell, one of the Jena 6 who spent 10 months in prison. What does she say to accusations that money donated for her client's defense was being spent inappropriately by the families? And, the conversation grows heated over speculation about how hurt Justin Barker really was after the attack. Was he as injured as he and his parents claimed? Find out which guest storms out of the studio, and why. Plus, Dr. Phil sends Bishop T.D. Jakes to Jena for exclusive interviews with members of the Jena 6 and their families. Share your thoughts, join the discussion.

Find out what happened on the show.

Dr. Phile for President anyone???

I am so impressed with Dr.Phil's ability to be able to handle just anything that is thrown his way, NOT TO MENTION THE COMPASSION HE PUTS INTO ANYTHING HE SAYS. After watching todays show I am now totally convinced that he should seriosly consider running for President of the United States. We need someone who will stand up for what is right and wrong for ALL OF US in a heartbeat! Dr. Phil for President...who agees?

Schools/ Parents

My daugther who is a 15 year old white student who was beat up last Wednesday at school by two black students. I have a masters degree in nursing and my life has been spent taking care of all races. Our best friends are black. We eat with then we visit with them and we love them. I point is my husband and my self have been telling the school system this was going to happen and telling them and we got no where. Now these 2 girls are suspended and have assault charges filed against them. I don't blame the children I blame the school for letting this happen. The things is we can not get anyone to help us the Director of schools will not meet with us. I have now removed my child from the public school, I have just paid 1000 dollars which I did not have. My question is when this happens how do we protect our children. and allow them to attend school. Last week was the worst week of my life and I know it was my little girls. I am a parent who love her child and I am heart broke about this. We all so are hiring a lawyer because she was hit in the head with a lunch tray and stomped in the head. They walked up to the office instead of calling an ambulance. My problem is if the school had listened to me this would not have happened. This is not racial it was over a boy but no mater what my child was hurt and no one cares. Diana Patton

Hate Crime

I think that the boys who attacked that one kid are guilty of a hate crime. They should not be allowed to get away with it just because they are black. If it had been six white kids who attacked a black kid then all the blacks in Jena would be screaming for them to be thrown under the jail, but since they are black then they should get away with it? How ridiculous! It is not their color that made them a target for prosecution, it was their crime. They desereve to be punished to the fullest extent of the law. It doesn't matter what color they are. If they were white they would be getting the same treatment and they would deserve it then, too.

A "White" Tree????

Why did the school even allow this? Did they not realize that eventually that might provoke exactly the type of incident that eventually occurred? This is outrageous! I blame the school for this and the community.

Justice for all

Was it not a race crime commited against the young man who was beat down? I do not condone the nooses but if it were 6 white boys who beat down an african american boy, wouldnt they be charged w/ attempted murder and a hate crime? Al Sharpton is the apitomy of raciest, its just reversed. Dr. King would roll over in his grave if he knew they were trying to use the Civil Rights movement to condone a violence & get away with it. The crime should fit the punishment, and it shouldnt matter what color you are, if you beat someone down, you should go to prison, especially if you have a history of violence. People like Sharpton set the Civil Rights movcement back when they expect special treatment because of the color of your skin.

Two shows

Dr Phil: You need to call the School Principal in and teachers and find out if they were aware of this "White Tree" (a provocation if I ever saw one, never mind the Nooses which just added insult to injury) and find out why nothing was done about this. Then bring in the entire group of kids that established the "White Tree" as well as the Jena 6, have them in the Dr. Phil House and do your very effective thing. I'm not religious and this Reverend T.J. Jacks (I think that's his name) strikes me as potential cultist and frankly I don't think he has much to contribute, but that's just my opinion.

Sounds like racism was a problem in Jena before this incident!

I've been reading this message board and some people here have said things to the effect that the African Americans 'wanted' to cause problems when they sat at an all white table. Personally, I think the BIG problem was an all-white table to begin with! Dr. Phil says that for every one rat you see in the barn, there's 50 more. What I mean by that is I don't think that the 'whites only' table was an isolated instance of racism in Jena. It reminded me of another woman who 'stirred things up' when she went to the 'whites only' section of a bus ~ she was a brave woman who stirred up important social change! I do not believe Bobbie and the others from Jena who keep insisting that racism is not a problem there. I'm very suspicious of the fact that the Jena school board refused to disclose what the consequences were for the kids who hung up the nooses from the tree. If all they received was a three-day suspension, then they really did get away with a slap on the wrist, and that's very wrong. Also, I believe those teenagers did in fact understand quite a bit about what those nooses meant! Those nooses were a vile, ugly gesture bordering on a death threat! I think the dialogue would have been more productive if they'd gotten that crazy psycho out of the way a little sooner (Richard Barrett). To me it seemed obvious that there was racism in Jena, and the ones from Jena who kept insisting otherwise didn't have much credibility. Dr. Phil always says that you can't change what you don't acknowledge. They need to admit that yes, there is a double standard sometimes in Jena and yes, they need to fix it! I hope this incident prompts some positive social change in Jena!

Can any Black person...

...hold a conversation, without having to dominate it by constantly interrupting the other person in the conversation? I was so sick of that guy going, "We're talking about now. We're talking about now. We're talking about now." How about learning how to establish your opinion in a conversation, without trying to dominate it like a angry child?

I dont understand

meklove get your story correct-- If you truly watched the show today-sounds like you did not, Dr Phil talked about Justin numerous times stating that the beating was never right and if the boys had come close to his temple they could have killed him and the show would be about a completely different topic--I am not quoting him but I am close. Get a grip.
