Friday's debate over the Jena 6 grew so heated, the Dr. Phil show needed to keep the cameras rolling! Now, see the show that happened after the show, when Dr. Phil returns to the stage and speaks with audience members on both sides of the issue. White supremacist Richard Barrett is the first to demand the spotlight, and you won't want to miss Dr. Phil's laser-sharp response. Then Dr. Phil has some hard questions for the attorney of Mychal Bell, one of the Jena 6 who spent 10 months in prison. What does she say to accusations that money donated for her client's defense was being spent inappropriately by the families? And, the conversation grows heated over speculation about how hurt Justin Barker really was after the attack. Was he as injured as he and his parents claimed? Find out which guest storms out of the studio, and why. Plus, Dr. Phil sends Bishop T.D. Jakes to Jena for exclusive interviews with members of the Jena 6 and their families. Share your thoughts, join the discussion.

Find out what happened on the show.

Jena6

1st of all I am white and see both sides There should have never been a white only area I think the parents are to blame for that We are teaching our children racism. The boys who hung the nooses only got 3 days suspension who decided that ? They committed a crime also and should be held accountable for that. I dont believe the young man who was beat up was hurt to the extent of what some say he was not beaten w/ inches of his life If so he would have been in the hospital for more then 2 hrs and not been able to attend a ring ceremony. Do I think what the Jena 6 boys did is wrong Yes do I think they should be charged w/ attempted murder charges hell no!! Kids get into fights all the time hell I got into a fight in jr high school the girl who jumped me wasnt charged. I think there is racism on both sides and until all of us can put aside skin color there are always going to be problems. hello people wake up life is to short especially to spend it hating one another

Hatred must end

I view hanging nooses from a tree as being equal to a swastika being painted on the walls of a Jewish temple or the home of a Jewish family. This should have been prosecuted as a hate crime because that is what it was. This was no prank. As for the Jena 6, 6 on 1 is very cowardly and should also be prosecuted, but I do not see this as attempted murder. I would love to take all of these kids and put them to work together on a community service project, maybe like Habitat for Humanity. Let them all spend a day working on behalf of somebody who has less and let them put their sweat and energy into something positive.

What if the situation was reversed??

If 6 white boys had beaten up a black boy, and it was found out that one of the 6 had been arrested 4-5 times previously, would there be the same level of outrage that they were arrested and kept in jail? Probably not, and in fact people like Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson would be screaming that it was a hate crime and needed to be charged under the Federal Statute as a hate crime. A crime is a crime...6 kids jumped on one kid and beat him up....one kid has an extensive arrest record....to me it doesn't matter who was white, who was black, a crime is a crime, and its just a shame that the only true victim in this, Justin Barker, will probably never see justice as this hot bed issue will eventually IMHO be swept under the rug with only a slap on the wrists for those who savagely beat him. Again, if the situations were reversed, would the same "Support" and protests be done if the white kids had done the beating? I think not.... Its too bad in this day and age we aren't past this, If white kids had jumped and savagely beat up a black kid then they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law...same here, those who beat up Justin Barker should also be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. It was wrong!

The people that won't listen, do not learn!!

I am watching Dr. Phil, and am so shocked (not) that the guests are being interrupted by the blacks at every statement! They are there to talk about the problems and try to get some closure/solutions but are not allowed to finish a sentence. As usual, the blacks are running off at the mouth and not letting anyone else be heard. (Squeaky wheel) Justin was ASSAULTED! it was not an "incident" it was CRIMINAL!!!! If the shoe was on the other foot, you are right, there would be riots in the streets! It is all bout them, and damn anyone who doesn't agree with them. The black communities are still pissed off about the past. GET OVER IT. And bye the way, if I had a business and wanted to form a "Tidewater WHITE business bureau" you'd better believe that there would be court cases over it. But the blacks can discriminate against ANYONE, and get away with it!!! If you want to go back into history, you should pay back all the Mexicans who were killed for the land that the US wanted. My family became "illegal" even though their land was in what is now Arizona, just so the US could have it. And then they became "criminals" and homeless. Guess what? We all got over it! and now, we are all sucessful members of society, and we are not on welfare, or living in the past! Build a bridge and get over it!!!!

Jena 6

To deny racism doesn't exist in the South is just crazy. I think we all witnessed how important our black citizens are with the excellent and quick response in the state of emergency. Katrina said it all. The tree needs to be renamed "Tree of Ignorance." I'm sure it is deeply offended by being called knowledge.

Defense money

I also would like to know why the lawyer was so ivasive when they asked if the defense fund was bieng mis-used? It seems to me not only should they be charged w/ a hate crime & attempted murder if found to be true Fraud should also be added. And in response to he was not as hurt as they are making it out to be, is irrelivant, 6 grown boys beat someone down who definatly couldnt defend himself with a ratio 6 to 1.

Jena Six Portrayed in Bad Light on Dr Phil Show :(

I think that the Jena Six are being portrayed in a bad light in the Dr Phil show so bad. We have talked about this in my Race and Ethnic Relations class already. Dr Phil portrayed the Jena Six in such a bad light that I don't even don't want to finish this show. First of all, the town is segregated if wasn't there would not be a "Snobby Hill" for whites and "The Country" for blacks. A white could not go in black neighborhood and black could not go in white neighborhood. So it first started with this white tree and it went downhill. The unspoken racial code was no black students under the white tree. When the black students did-the white students hung up nooses under the tree the next day. Nooses are the symbol of past history. What WHITES did to BLACKS. Now what did the school do? The school dismissed this as a prank!!! That is not a school run by professionals. The white boys that did that just got a few days' suspension. Now the black boy that went to that party was beaten but nothing got done about it but when Bailey got beaten oh my goodness everybody(the whites) wanted justice done. So the D.A. who is white charged the black guys with what?: with attempted second degree murder! There was another incident where white teens came at black guys witha gun so the black teens took the gun and reported the incident to the police. The police (whom I assume are white) charged the black teens with what?: with stealing of possession or something like that. So the black teens got charged with severe punishment but the white teens didn't. I am not saying that what the Jena Six did was okay or vise versa but everybody should have been punished FAIRLY! I think that Dr Phil focused on only the white teen got beaten but he didn't focus on anything that happened before that and other events that happened to the black teens.

WHY does everyone AVOID the questions?

I MUST applaud Dr. Phil immensely today. He did a excellent job at pushing aside the reply's some guests (Female lawyer, black son's dads, people in the audience) about the specific questions being asked. It infuriated me sooo much that EVERYTIME Dr. Phil or anyone asks if the 6 BLACK STUDENTS should be HELD ACCOUNTABLE for their actions, every person who replied tried to side step that question and start rambling on about how white students dont get the same treatment, this incident happened to this black person at this party, we want 1 law system..... Thats all fine an dandy but please have the respect to answer the question. If your son is liable, he's liable..... That really bothered me today, so thanks Dr. Phil for stopping them or acknowledging them and then getting them back on track. Something else that bothers me alot or maybe its just how devious lawyers truely are, but that female black lawyer on satellite to the Dr.Phil show would always say "I can't comment on if they are guilty, or if they caused a crime, or acted criminally." BUT once something was said about anything she wanted to talk about, she SURE had a REPLY or a COMMENT to that! I mean come on here, please dont play us and the audience as fools! Either answer all the questions or none at all, dont just speak up on certain questions that you think you can win on.... Be truthful, your a lawyer.. you represent. Also the black revenand in the audience again, totally doesn't understand the true issues at hand and also only speaks about how black people got mistreated here, or this isnt fair to this black person. For a person of GOD he definately seems to be only able to comment on how black people get the short end of the stick, BUT never on how all kids shouldnt be partying, or ALL kids shouldnt be drinking, or WHERES the PARENTS?? Hes a bad example forsure!

Niave People

HELLO! Do these people not understand that they are stuck in the past. The people from this state and few others have cemented these types of beliefs into their children. They are LYING! This happend for a reason and the segragation continue to happen for a reason and its because each generation is raised with these beliefs their children do not just segragate themeselves for no reason. I would love for these people to come and see how it is in my state I am from New Mexico and this would NEVER happen here. The southern most states have a srious problem. The south western part of this country has united and i'm guessin along with most of this country. we HAVE come togehter as a nation in most of this country. These people come to the dr. Phil show and lie nothing will ever change for these people.
