Friday's debate over the Jena 6 grew so heated, the Dr. Phil show needed to keep the cameras rolling! Now, see the show that happened after the show, when Dr. Phil returns to the stage and speaks with audience members on both sides of the issue. White supremacist Richard Barrett is the first to demand the spotlight, and you won't want to miss Dr. Phil's laser-sharp response. Then Dr. Phil has some hard questions for the attorney of Mychal Bell, one of the Jena 6 who spent 10 months in prison. What does she say to accusations that money donated for her client's defense was being spent inappropriately by the families? And, the conversation grows heated over speculation about how hurt Justin Barker really was after the attack. Was he as injured as he and his parents claimed? Find out which guest storms out of the studio, and why. Plus, Dr. Phil sends Bishop T.D. Jakes to Jena for exclusive interviews with members of the Jena 6 and their families. Share your thoughts, join the discussion.

Find out what happened on the show.

Here is a link of what happens to whites on a regular basis. This just happened the end of september 2007 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n95QmGyI6wA This is why whites move away from blacks. How much money do blacks owe whites for the white flight out of the cities becauese of black crime. I live in a large city and see young white teens assualted all the time by gangs of black men or black teens that look like men all the time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n95QmGyI6wA
I feel your pain. It is simply statistics. Houston received way over 100,000 neighbors from Katrina's flood in New Orleans and our crime statistics mushroomed into oblivion. For many months no one was allowed to bring up the fact that the demise of our community was because of the refugees. I know firsthand that the little children are groomed to hate. I know this, and that is why they are so angry. I know that they mirror the violence that they see at home, and they think that it is normal. If half the energy that is put into teaching the horrors of slavery was put into reading or math homework, etc., or anything that enlightens or encourages, this would go away. Racism today is a product of stemming on what happened in yesteryear. Boo-friggin'-hoo. My father was a prisoner of war and I never showed my daughter photos of dead soldiers hanging in trees. Why would I DO that? I don't want her to REMEMBER that. I do not even want her to know that my dad was tortured. What good would it do? It WOULD ONLY MAKE HER HATE. Haters...they are creatures of habit.

10/01 Jena 6 Continues

Quote From: kindone

IT SOULDS TO ME WHTIEGIRLINJENA IS SAYING YES THERE ARE RACIST PEOPLE IN JENA AND I'M ONE OF THEM. U JUST MAYBE JUSTIN BARKER GIRLFIREND FOR ALL WE KNOW. PEOPLE IN JENA WAKE UP AND STOP GETTING MAD AND FACE THE FACT THAT THERE IS RACISM IN JENA LA. OK. LETS PUT THE JENA 6 ON THE SIDE AND ASK YOUR SELF WHY WAS THE BLACK BOYS CHARGE FOR TAKING A GUN AWAY FROM A WHITE BOY THAT PULL IT OUT ON THEM AND THREATEN THEIR LIFE. WHY U FEEL THAT WASN'T RIGHT TO NOT CHARGE THE WHITE BOY. WHY.
Why do you think that this news story is true? It isn't. It is a rumor. Your rage is unacceptable. Calm down. No one is out to get you. Quit hating. Get a life.

good advice

Quote From: angelikefire

Were you there? Because you have all the answers. Only the people invoved know the truth.Let the jury decide, based on all the facts not what you want it to be.
I think the reason this has escalated into oblivion is so a fair jury could never be found. Who hasn't heard about the Jena 6? One's opinion on it depends on one's experiences in life. The amount of the passion displayed is in proportion to the amount of hatred one has witnessed on a firsthand basis. I did not used to be prejudiced. My father raised me NOT to hate, but my firsthand experiences of being attacked verbally by RUDE, hostile, uneducated black strangers recently is enough to make me realize that I am not at all like them...I would never be deliberately hostile to anyone, particularly if the person was trying to be nice to me!! Know something funny? White people acknowledge poor white trash as what it is...ignorance, with no exposure to education and truth. Black people back up their ignorant with more ignorance.

Fed Up and Angry

I have been reading some of these messages on this board and I must say it has angered me to know that so many people are blind. You say "Jena 6" is at fault and they are just trying to make an excuse for blacks. But when one black is beat by multiple whites what do you say? Do they get charged as adults and for attempted murder? The answer is NO!!! Racism is a issue. So many whites don't understand because they don't have to go through it everyday. You are so quick to put up blinders to what is really going on in the world. Now don't get me wrong I don't think it is ok to beat a INNOCENT person senceless. But is it really a innocent person in this case. Thats the question. To hang nooses from a "white tree" and think that wouldn't be offensive is pure ignorance. Come on use your brains people. And for the person that said blacks is the reason so many whites move from big cities is ridiculous. Thats like me saying I move because all of the white crack heads and robbers in my city. Don't blame one color for a problem in your community. People open your eyes. Its a clear day it's time to land.

Quote From: butterfly88

I think that the Jena Six are being portrayed in a bad light in the Dr Phil show so bad. We have talked about this in my Race and Ethnic Relations class already. Dr Phil portrayed the Jena Six in such a bad light that I don't even don't want to finish this show. First of all, the town is segregated if wasn't there would not be a "Snobby Hill" for whites and "The Country" for blacks. A white could not go in black neighborhood and black could not go in white neighborhood. So it first started with this white tree and it went downhill. The unspoken racial code was no black students under the white tree. When the black students did-the white students hung up nooses under the tree the next day. Nooses are the symbol of past history. What WHITES did to BLACKS. Now what did the school do? The school dismissed this as a prank!!! That is not a school run by professionals. The white boys that did that just got a few days' suspension. Now the black boy that went to that party was beaten but nothing got done about it but when Bailey got beaten oh my goodness everybody(the whites) wanted justice done. So the D.A. who is white charged the black guys with what?: with attempted second degree murder! There was another incident where white teens came at black guys witha gun so the black teens took the gun and reported the incident to the police. The police (whom I assume are white) charged the black teens with what?: with stealing of possession or something like that. So the black teens got charged with severe punishment but the white teens didn't. I am not saying that what the Jena Six did was okay or vise versa but everybody should have been punished FAIRLY! I think that Dr Phil focused on only the white teen got beaten but he didn't focus on anything that happened before that and other events that happened to the black teens.
They were the only ones who was portrayed victims . These criminals need be in prison. most of them have violent  pasts  should be treated as such. If you want equal rights, then when you do the crime it should be equal punishment.  It was a racially motivated attack & that constitutes a hate crime. 6 boys on 1 IS ATTEMPTED MURDER. You can not expect to change the rules to suit  your own personell needs. You need to get our facts strait, before you preach!

10/01 Jena 6 Continues

I would just like to say when  I was in highshool the blacks had there spot the whites had there's. The students did this on there own. If a white wanted to sit where the blacks were that was ok. If a black wanted to sit where the whites were it was ok. I dont think it matters where you live in this country there will always be problems between the whites and the blacks. I'm not racist. I like all people.  Color does not matter. I do think it was wrong for six of them to jump on one. Why did it take six???  If it were the other way around and it were six white on one black I dont think the punishment would have been has harsh and i'm white.  This country seems to take it out harder on blacks and not the whites. I also think if you do the crime you do the time.

sad...sad...sad

it bothers me people act like they don't wanna see what's really going on. of course if 6 kids jumped on 1 kid they should get some type of punishment. but 30 years in prison? does that seem real? people who kill people don't get that long. it makes no sense, they should go to prison because they "could of killed him" because "if" they kicked him one more he "could" of been hurt worst. what type of justice is that? lock them up and throw away they key, right? that'll make justin feel better about his bruise, thats gone. and why do people believe him when he says he didn't call him the n word? what makes him a saint?

people wanna remain ignorant i guess...making statements like black should move back to africa because tv was better in the 60s, or pay back whites because blacks moved into the neighborhood and commit crime. pure comedy. it's time for the world to wake up. i have alot more to say but i dont wanna go in circles like most of the comments, its just time for the world to wake up.

Dodging questions allowed on one side but not other.

I can't believe the hypocritical show i saw yesterday and questions left unanswered. when Bell's lawyer was asked about his prior convictions it was bypassed and just let go. In my opinion her answer was as well as saying yes. She also glance over the claims that the money was not spent onm their defense. The boys that hung the nooses in the tree were wrong but that gives SIX boys the right to stomp and kick another boy. It doesn't matter how bad he was hurt. It happened. I heard that twany brawly racist Al Sharpton on tv saying two wrong don't make a right when it comes to the jailing of M. Bell. If the first wrong were the boys hanging the nooses, which hurt peoples feelings but did not physiclly hurt anyone. According to your audience made it perfectly ok for Six boys to attack one boy. I refuse to call them young men because Six boys on one they must not be too tough alone. If the races were reversed and six white boys would have attacked a single afro american then the boys would have been charged with a hate crime and a violation of their civil rights. I thought you were a man of character but it was so easy to see you weren't impartial. I spent the first 17 years of my life in the military family and no matter what happen right or wrong didn't matter the race card was always played and afro americans got away with murder. Just a side note i come from a family that were hard working that picked cotton, peas, what ever work it took to buy shoes, clothes &survive. Noone gave my family anything and we don't owe anyone anything.

If you commit a crime you do the time, Rodney King wasn't Martin Luther KIng but he was treated like he was. Now these six boys are being treated like civil rights leaders, which i think is an isult to the peple that came before them and really sacrifced from their people. There is a question about were the money went check Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton pockets.Rmember regardless of the race Six Cowards attacked one person.

10/01 Jena 6 Continues

The Bell supporters want a break and think the punishment is to harsh.  Let him go on probation with community service to help people in the white community so they can learn from each other.

Give him a contract that states if he commits any other crimes, he'll automatically get the death penalty no line no waiting, with no right to appeal.  Since this is his 5th incident  A crime is a crime I am so tired of the race card.  In our city police can't do there job in the communities that are primarily black because they get slapped with they shot a black person because they were running from the law...  Well stop running, I was taught to respect  the law, the community and the people in it, work hard and concentrate on your goals.

Clearly we have left a lot of teaching out of raising our children, if they find your self in a situation like this because they clearly didn't get that there are consequences for you actions.

I am so sick of the "Race card".   Can't we live in harmony, we are all soul put on this earth buy God.  Racism is just a branch of prejudice.  We will always have difference fat, skinny... rich, poor... Catholics vs. the world.  white, black, the list goes on.   We need to embrace the difference and move forward.  Accept and appreciate people for who they are.  I tell my daughter you don't have to like them but you must be civil and respect them.  Lets forgive our ancestor's past sins and quit using them as a handicap card.  We live in the world now..  We have to deal with now.  and all this B.S. makes it way more difficult.  The worst part is we let it go on.  We all have past history  Caucasians form Europe and  Blacks from Africa.  Yes Blacks  came to America in a very different manner than Caucasians, but we fought to free slavery, we fought for equal right for blacks and women and were here today.  Lets get on with it no one is currently a "slave" they have been freed for almost 142 years.  I don't know anyone that old do you?

Respect one another, be civil, obey the laws, if you don't like the laws than lobby to change them it's your right as a citizen of the United States.   It's time to accept we all are different and yet the same.  It's time for all American citizens to fight for peace and harmony in our country and be the United people of the United States all the time not just in times of crisis.

Kudos

Quote From: dykinitup2420

I personally am an african american/caucasian lesbian female, who grew up in the south, therefore receiving a fair amount of bigotry.  I'm 24 years of age now.  All the nonsense that Al Sharpton was spewing about how if the reverse were true (if it was a 6 on 1/white on black assault), then it would be a non-issue..........is absolutely ridiculous.  Walking through the halls of my middle school and especially high school...........never did I see an african american kid afraid to walk down the halls because of racism.  Never did I see an African American kid be assaulted by whites.  However, I did see the opposite quite frequently.  White boys scared to go to school, being called queer, cracker, being assaulted and bullied.  Nothing was ever done about that.  There were no white protests going on.  That's because it's not acceptable, to complain if you are white.  It has become commonplace and acceptable for whites to be the butt of jokes in rap music and currently in our young society.  Two years ago, I was at a pool hall with a white male friend.  He accidentally stepped on the shoe of an african american guy who was part of a big group of guys.  He immediately apologized, but the guys proceeded to chase us out to our car, beating him to a pulp........the whole time, yelling racial slurs at him.  Why wasn't this considered a HATE CRIME?  Why do situations like this, that I've seen occur all to often, somehow never make the news and are never used in conjunction with the words hate crime, the same way they are when they happen to be white on black.  A few months ago, a white couple was kidnapped by a group of african americans, tortured, raped and chopped into pieces and disposed of..........though I had to read about it on some obscure web-site, because it never made the news.  Yet at the same time, this horrible crime took place, every news reporter in the country (maybe the world) was still yapping about about the Don Imus thing.  It blows my mind.  Why are these crimes never a big enough deal to even make the evening news, yet the Jena 6 have been plastered all over my tv for months.  It's an unfair double standard.  And for Al Sharpton or anyone else to say that if it was a 6 on 1 white on black assault, then nothing would have been done.........is complete and total $%&.  I've seen enough black on white assaults, along with white kids being scared to go to school........to know that usually NOTHING is done about it.  Part of the reason these are never reported on the news, or are never really handled in real life..........is definitely in part, due to the fear of being labelled as racists for stepping forward.  That word is like the plague these days (once you've been associated with it RIGHT or WRONG, your life is over), and is thrown around like it's a bodily function.  Nobody wants to get caught in the crossfire, so they keep their mouths shut.

My point in saying this, is to get across that we always seem to be discussing white on black racism in this country.  NOT many people however, will even have the balls to agree that the reverse does exist.........better yet stand up and do anything to stop it.  It's hypocritical to only ever portray one side, and that's what the media does.

As I said, I'm an African American and Caucasian homosexual female with friends of all nationalities and sexual orientations.  I have been called the "N" word by a few ignorant whites along with various derogatory terms for my sexual orientation.  Friends of mine have been called racist names by whites.  However, I've always gotten a lot more racism from my African American brothers and sisters, never being "black" enough apparently.  I also got an extreme amount of homophobia along with several 3 on 1 beatings, by fellow blacks, for being gay.

It goes both ways, yet never gets talked about because people are afraid of being deemed the "R" word.

As far as the Jena 6.  When you are behaving badly and get caught, it doesn't matter how many OTHER people are behaving badly, or behaved badly previously.........YOU ARE STILL BEHAVING BADLY!!! People don't seem to get that.  There is no excuse for such behavior no matter how ingeniously you try to rationalize it.  Even if the victim was making racial slurs earlier that day, people somehow think that makes it justified.  If every time I was called the "N" word, or a d$ke, or an "uncle tom" or an "oreo", and proceeded to find 5 of my closest friends to go stomp the persons head into the ground, I would have probably been in and out of court/jail dozens of times, having nothing to do with my race.  You just can't behave that way.  I don't see why that's so hard to comprehend.

Remember the Duke lacrosse "rape" case.  That woman fabricated the entire event, making these boys look like evil racist rapists.  They were crucified in the court system, and in the media before the ink dried on the accuser's statement.  Al Sharpton wanted their blood, along with the majority of the country.  Nobody came to their aid.  When it came out that the woman was a liar, they received no apology that I'm aware of, from Al Sharpton.  This woman essentially almost ruined their lives, making up fake charges that they were both racist and rapists.  Where was the rally and protests held on behalf of those boys who were COMPLETELY INNOCENT?  What if they then decided that based on the racial lies that were told about them, and the false claims of rape, that they were going to retaliate and give the accuser a beating, stomping her face just because they were treated unfairly.  Would there be a nationwide surge to support them and ask for leniancy?  Somehow, I think not.

Hypocrisy at it's best.

What a great message! I could not have said it better myself...
