Since Britney Spears and Kevin Federline split, the pop star's troubles have played out in the tabloids -- photographs at Hollywood hotspots with Paris Hilton, partying without panties, impulsively shaving her head, raging at a car with an umbrella, and spending a month in rehab.  Last month, the judge ordered the pop star to undergo random drug and alcohol testing twice a week as part of her ongoing custody battle with Federline.  Then what was supposed to be a comeback MTV Video Music Awards performance made Britney the butt of endless jokes, and the following week, her management firm dropped her and her divorce attorney resigned.  And on Monday, Britney hit rock bottom when she was ordered to temporarily relinquish physical custody of her children to Federline by a judge who had cited a troubling lifestyle fueled by drugs and alcohol.  Could Britney be at risk for suicide?  Plus, Dr. Phil will share insight into the Britney story from the inside. And, Spears’ former bodyguard who says he spoke out to protect her children, will tell Dr. Phil what led him to go public. If it's happening now, Dr. Phil is going to talk about it now! Share your thoughts, join the discussion.

Find out what happened on the show.

Her consequences are NECESSARY!

An addict has only one priority and that is feed the addiction; not kids, not work, not the law, not anything but feeding the addiction.

A good mother would have straightened her butt up and did whatever that judge wanted to keep her children.  She may be a great mother when she is not using, but in the depths of addiction she cannot be a good mother...it is almost unheard of!

Britney is displaying classic symptoms of addiction, and she should be treated like any other addict.  I applaud the court for taking those kids away.  If it was anyone else that is what would have happened.

Those children need a guardian ad leitem appointed pronto if they dont already have one now!

Also Kevin may not be the best person for the kids either, I dont know, but at least

he is smart enough to play the game!  He goes to court and is following the orders of the court this

far!  Britney is so self absorbed that she doesnt even think she needs to follow the

law and court orders!

I am sick and tired of these celebutantes getting off with a slap on the wrist.  It

takes facing the ultimate consequences of thier actions to wake people up from their haze, and if

they dont wake up they will die......

crazy times

I think that Britney does need help and that she does need to listen to ppl that care about her.

Doing what the judge has ordered would be a good place to start as well as going into rehab and getting real about how she can't deal with this on her own.

It's hard to get out of the spotlight when being in the spotlight is your job. It's true she could change jobs but I think the paparazzi would still chase after her.

I cannot believe that in our current world...war, terrorism, starvation, etc...that the topic worthy of a whole Dr. Phil program is Britney Spears.  Yes, her life is in turmoil.  Yes, she seems to be out of control.  Yes, her children need help.  But what business is it of the general American viewing audience?  Where are our priorities?
yes, I have to agree with you.  Britney is a spoiled rotten brat who hasn' t grown up and by the looks of things doesn't want to.  Yes I agree thewhole hour could have been represented in other ways that are beneficial to behavioral issues, postpartum depression, substance abuse, maybe how to set upand arrange(resources) INTERVENTION. Sorry Dr.Phil, u lost me on this one--we really don't care how the media feels they have to answer the call of BRITNEY SPEARS!!--it's old news and really not that important in todays world or CELEBRITY WORLD.  LIKE YOU SAY -- CHOOSE THE BEHAVIOR--SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES---AND SHE HAS OBVIOUSLY CHOSE THE WORST CONSEQUENCE THE LOSS OF HER CHILDREN!!! I hope the new Dr. Phil Now has more important topics for his viewers--somethingthat has importance, value, and integrity to meaningful issues.

hold the phone on this Brittany issue

How many parents have neglected their children?  How many more times will we allow parents to be irresponsible?  The media attention that Brittany got about her children should have given her a clue that she needs to change her behaviour.  Obviously, she can not distinguish the difference of proper child care and bad judgements.

Our society and our laws has allowed way too much leneincy to the maternal parent, in cases, where fathers want their children and have to go through hell and back to get custody of them.  The laws in this country need to give fathers as much rights as mothers to protect the children from this kind of feeding frenzy.  Dr Phil you have opened a pandora's box and pushed a button to a more paparazzi style on your show.  Brittany's problem should be private and if your plan was to help her, why not do this in private?  We have heard enough from the media and I am persaonally getting sick of her behaviour.

my thoughts exactly

How does everyone know Britney Spears is such a bad mother? This opinion is based only on her behavior when she is out and not with her children.... because the cameras are not on her 24/7 in her home when she is interacting with her two boys. Kevin Federline, stand up guy all of the sudden because the PUBLIC OPINION decides it? I'm not saying she is a good mother, I don't know. The point is no one knows becasue they are not privy to what goes on behind closed doors.
Yes I was thinking the same thing this is based only on things when she was not with her kids. As for the body guard he said he came forward in the best interests of the children well if that was the case why is he running around town doing interview after interview, surely that is not in the best interest of the children. He cares alright about how much this will make him and Gloria is his attorney why am I not surprise she has a huge ego when it comes to the spotlight. I wonder why Kevin does not have to take a drug test he parties s just as much seems there is a double standard.

No right

You know, nobody who hasn't been where shes at, has no right to even talk. I mean come on people give her a break, shes having a hard time right now, and all anyone is doing, is judging her. Nobody has the right to judge anyone, unless you know how it is. Like I said before, shes just another mom going through what some moms go through after having one kid after another (which took the 2 of themby the way). BABY BLUES!!!!!!!!!! It happens to the best of us. One thing though, I am not defending her not going to court, cause that wasn't cool. I am just saying, give her a break, she needs to get help thats all. Then she will be back in action...lol

Is Britney depressed

I am not a doctor or anything, but has anyone even thought that maybe Britney is suffering from post partum depression. From what I have seen it seems like she started this bizarre behavior after she gave birth to her second son. She did not know how to deal and started taking drugs and alcohol. I hope that someone can get her some help fast before she does anymore damage to herself, her image and to get her kids back. Britney is such a sweet girl and I do not believe that she would hurt her boys intentionally. I am praying that something will happen soon and wish the tabloids would leave her alone and let her be until she gets better.

Okay I feel for Britney's two babies, and I think it was time someone stepped in to try and get them to a safe environment. That being said, I don't want to watch your ENTIRE program devoted to this young woman. If you feel the need to help her do it in PRIVATE. Most of us have had quite enough of Britney, Paris , Lindsay and all the other self-absorbed celebrities. While I wish no misfortune to happen to any of them, I really DON'T CARE to see or hear about their problems any more.

Absolutely:

No more Britney, Paris, Lindsey, Etc.  I did not watch today's show because I am sick of hearing about these people.  I will watch in the future but not when the shows are about out of control celebs
