Since Britney Spears and Kevin Federline split, the pop star's troubles have played out in the tabloids -- photographs at Hollywood hotspots with Paris Hilton, partying without panties, impulsively shaving her head, raging at a car with an umbrella, and spending a month in rehab.  Last month, the judge ordered the pop star to undergo random drug and alcohol testing twice a week as part of her ongoing custody battle with Federline.  Then what was supposed to be a comeback MTV Video Music Awards performance made Britney the butt of endless jokes, and the following week, her management firm dropped her and her divorce attorney resigned.  And on Monday, Britney hit rock bottom when she was ordered to temporarily relinquish physical custody of her children to Federline by a judge who had cited a troubling lifestyle fueled by drugs and alcohol.  Could Britney be at risk for suicide?  Plus, Dr. Phil will share insight into the Britney story from the inside. And, Spears’ former bodyguard who says he spoke out to protect her children, will tell Dr. Phil what led him to go public. If it's happening now, Dr. Phil is going to talk about it now! Share your thoughts, join the discussion.

Find out what happened on the show.

note to dr phil

If dr phil really wanna get to the bottom of things and actually help then you should have britney on the show. everyone seems to be ganging up on britney all at one time and I dont think it is quite fair. She may have a problem but I dont think anyone is actually trying to help her but JUDGE HER! who are we to judge.. and when it comes down to it is everyone who is now against her wants money from her. I do not think it is fair to her or to her kids

I disagree

Quote From: snsjess

I agree totally with you!

You know we have to remember that even though this is the road she has taken in her life as an adult, she began in this business a long time ago.  Her parents chose this road for her when she was young this is all she knows in her life.  She was programmed for this lifestyle.  So for someone to make comments about the life that she has chosen for herself isn't necessarily true.  It's not a fair comment to make about someone that is having serious issues in their life.

For all you people that think Dr. Phil was wrong in doing this show about  Britney he wasn't doing it for ratings or because he wanted to get in on the action.  Dr. Phil helps a lot of people on a daily basis. They pay a lot of money to get advice from him and would wait in line for days to see him.  I think he genuinly cares about her and what may happen to her just as he does for anyone else.

ANSWER TO YOUR POST

Quote From: pinkycar

Your post is two things:  (a) A contradiction...."no doubt Britney is out of control but to remove her children..." What did you want the judge to do?  Wait until she actually hurt the kids in her "out of control" behavior before taking them away to safety?? And (b) ".....taking them away.....not taking a drug and alcohol test".....As a grandparent who has lived this type of behavior from her own daughter, there is a reason she didn't take the test - SHE WOULD HAVE FAILED!!  I don't know how many times my own daughter would say "I didn't know, I forgot....blah, blah", only to discover that she had been using the entire time and this was just her latest excuse!!  The judge ORDERED her to do these things and SHE DID NOT COMPLY WITH THE COURT'S ORDERS.  Ignore the orders does not make this a "broken judicial system", it makes this nothing more than someone who thought they were above the law!  This judge obviously saw the children in danger with her behavior and many facts presented in the court room that you/we do not know.  How sad that you immediately blame the judicial system and place your belief into a once-pop-star!  Until you've walked these shoes, it might be best to sit back and wait for ALL the facts!!

To respone to your very bitter post, it is very apparent that your are very angry with your own situation.  But to address what I said in mine, I said that basics that he made his decision, which has been stated on the news, TV etc.  There are children that live thru and in horrible situations and C.P.S., the police etc., are brought in the picture but the kids somehow end up back in that home over and over again.  (DON'T YOU READ THE PAPER OR WATCH THE NEWS?)  Then you see other situations where a hard working single mother runs into bad luch and she looses her children to the system.  Every case that goes thru our courts sets a precedent for a case to follow.  That is too much power to put out there with a high profile case as this.  The two reasons that were stated for the removal of her children was excessive.  THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM IS BROKE!!  The reason that I can say this is because I worked within the judicial system for 11 years and I saw first hand.  I'm sure with her wealth that she has maids, body guards and others in the home around the children and if they were in danger, don't you think someone would have said something before now.  This HOLLYWOOD PUBLICITY cases are out of control and it is only hurting the common people that have survive in this world. I too am a grandmother and I am concerned about the world and the system that they are going to have to grow up and live in.  GET OUT OF YOUR LITTLE BOX AND LOOK AT THE "BIG PICTURE"!  Wonder how well anyone of us would do if our lives were under a magnifying glass as hers is everyday? Would our children be taken away?  If so, wonder what the reason would be?  GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU!

the music biz

I have been a musician for almost all my life. when i first asked my parents if could take piano lessons, my mother beamed. Down the road i learned other musical instruments i performed in many music festivals as a child and as a young adult i became a concert violinist and a music teacher. when i wanted to go into more mainstream i did not like the business anymore. I thought people were more interested in making a fast buck and not with the art and talent with music. When it came with Britney, i see what has happened to many young people who are talented and want fame. They listen to companies who promises them fame if the artist will follow their formula even though it cost the artist their soul. Sex is the biggest seller. Who cares if artist is talented or not make them sell records have young girls sing crappy songs with sexy videos even though there talent is way above that.

drugs and alcohol seems to go to hand and hand when a young artist who is still wet behind the ears and have little coping skills. the record companies loves that because they can control them. this practice should stop.  I feel for Britney and her children. Britney is in trouble, ifear for her life. I have seen so many time in my life the psychological problems that drugs can happen to the person who takes the drugs and the people in the family. May God be watching her and everybody who is connected to this.

SLOW NEWS DAY

As much as I love the Dr. Phil show, today left me bored to tears.  There are children who are being starved and abused every day in this - the Richest Counrtry in the World.  I would rather see a show that talks about how we can stop that, than continually concentrating on this out of control individual.  She needs to be ignored by the media so that she does something else with her time, like get well.  I am as tired of hearing about Britney Spears as I was Anna Nicole Smith.

Having 2 babies so close together is huge...

Quote From: ashleymh

I am also a young mother of two and pregnant with my third. Strange as it sounds but I feel a kinship with her in the reason that I had my first son just days before she had hers and also we had another son just days within her youngest. Going through pregnancy dealing with the hormones and such screw with your head so bad and I honestly believe she is suffering from sort of mental instability due to the pregnancies being so close and not getting help from a professional. Also I believe it was the best thing for the children and her to not have custody at this time until she can get her life under control. I would love to see her get her life back and the only way that is going to happen is if she gets help for whats wrong. My heart goes out to her children and her.
I also had 2 children (boys) a year apart and I was 6 months ahead of Brittney and her pregnancies.  I know I am a bit of a drama queen but I can honestly say I felt like I was loosing my mind and going off the deep end many many times.  Thank the God Lord I got a sinus infection and went to the doctor.  If it would not have been for the nurse practioner seeing through my dazed and oblivious state and stepping into my state of mind in a very big way I don't know where I would be.  When my 2nd child was 8 wks old, Hurricane Rita came through our town in SW Louisiana and we evacuated and then my husband and I seperated 2 weeks after we got home....so I was alone with a 14 month old and a new born and destruction all around me... all this to say I can only imagine what is physically going on with her with cameras flashing non stop and the public watching and judging every move she makes.  Yes, she chose that lifestyle BUT she is also human and has a right to have a life.  I know I did not make the best of decisions during the time after my babies were born and felt extremely alone and crazy things ran through my head that truly scared me but someone had to give me help and insist on me taking the help because I just could not see it.  So I hope she can be still long enough to see and hear what the professionals have to say and can find some peace and clarity about her physical self and her mental and spiritual self.  Her children will be fine I am sure and will miss their mother but they are so young and children are so resilient at this age.  Prayers and lots of Peace and Caring sent her way and to those babies!!!

Dear God, give me a break!!

The body gaurd, Tony is a total slime ball. The nerve of that jerk getting paid $180,000.00!!!! to basically say things that other people said to him. He only really said that he felt that she  was doing drugs, he did not see it but he "felt" she was on drugs.  You know how many people would say that for one hundred and eighty thousand dollars???? Tons of people!!!

I dont know very many people that could live up to the social standards that are set up for the celebs, all the pressure, attention and critisism.  This young woman is all screwed up, heck most young celebs are warped from a strange childhood.  No real way to know if people like you for who you are or because you are famous.  It sucks for them, but she is a real idiot for parading her children in front of the cameras and for goodness sake put on your underwear and leave them on!!  I think the public needs to stop supporting these entertainment mags and tv shows, and I really feel Dr. Phil must not give this attention. We must all be more mature and stop being so facinated by these singers, dancers and sports players. The people that deserve our attention are the chemists, scientists and doctors that are discovering cures for disease, or ways to save the planet, or ways to reduce crime, inventing things that help humanity.  We really must start taking control of what the media feed us.  I want the truth, I am sick of the "spin" of the politics, the looking the other way on corrpution and fraud and get this country back to be something to be proud of.

She's to blame.......

Quote From: rgse90

I am not nor have i ever been a fan to Britney. But I will say that I blame her parents for their wanting their daughters to pay for their own lifestles. The parents wants for the lime light and the glitter and fame and money have caused their daughter to be out of control and nuts. SHE IS ALSO ADDICTED TO THE CAMERAS AND THE MEDIA. The media are playing into her craziness. She deserves everything that happens to her BUT her parents are to blame for Britney's short comings. This is what happens when the parents live out their dreams through their kids. SHAME ON YOU.
She's to blame for her actions...for goodness sakes, she's a grown woman and SHOULD know right from wrong - no matter how she was raised.

This is how much I care.....................

Give me a break. This woman is just another example of the role models our young ladies have to look up to. The more publicity we show, and attention we give, the more this becomes the norm. Ms. Spears is having a serious break-down and should be left alone to get for life together out of the spot light. Her fist priority should be to get right with herself and then try to be a mother to those sweet children. It is a shame that her innocence has been lost, her womanhood shot out the window. This is the path she chose. Good luck to those babies, that's all I have to say.
