This show airs late afternoon. But the audience at the tapings is an adult audience.  No children are allowed.  The content is adult content. Subjects are adult subjects.  Before the show starts, there is a warning about the type of show this is. Children and sensitive adults are not supposed to watch this show.

So why do they beep out some words?  If the guests or Dr Phil are not supposed to use them, they should not use them.  Period. It is very annoying to have these beeps or these **** and not know what they stand for. Or sometimes the conversation goes like:"So he calls you the A word, the B word, the C word, the D word, the E word, the F word...oh how offensive!".  But what are these words?  When presented like that, I do no find them offensive because I do not get the point, and I do not understand what all the fuss is about. I find those people are getting offended for nothing.

I most certainly am not the only person whose mother tongue is not English, and who has a problem understanding all the subtilities of these expressions and of specifically English idioms.

Since this is an adult only show, and ample warnings preceed its airing, I find all words used on the show should be left as is in the show. I find that the current practice is condescending towards the public.

Time for show

OK since you are not from this country you most likely don't know of something called The FCC. Look it up. They are the Government agency that regulates what can be said on the air waves. Foul language like the F work and the A word are words that can not be said on TV at the time the the Dr. Phil show is on. Now after a certain hour of the evening called Prime Time then you can say the A word but you can not say the F word at any time except for on Premium Cable channels like HBO and Show time. Have an English speaking friend inform you of what the these  abbreviations means and then you will be able to follow along. Also there is enough cursing in the world and I don't need it all over my TV and on every show I watch. Breaking down a curse word to it's first letter is more respectful to others. If you want to watch a show with a lot of cuss words on it watch premium cable channels. Also remember that at 3:00pm there are children that are home and yes they can be removed form a room does not mean that they can't hear. Also there are children that com home after school and there are no parents at home so they watch waht they want. You may find this "practice" annoying but it is a "practice" that is governed by our laws.

In the United States Dr. Phil is on twice a day.....

Once at 2:00 PM  and once at 7:00 PM.  Surely you can find a suitable time to watch without the kids around with those choices.

Most often the afternoon 2:00 PM show are a repeat of some of the evening shows.

Hope this information helps.
