Well Dsl is not out in the country. not one Medical Claims Company will hirer me even though i have proof and training they closed there doors and beside no company is going to trust any person to work on medical claims at home. So we was burnt out of $3,000.00 for something that was faulty. ( i have dail up if lucky ) Back in the 98 I had paid $30. to get a listing of work at home companys. Well it came and it was just a book called The Complete Guide To Home Based Employment . all it was is a book with home jobs and only gave half the information and alot of P.O. box for the companys address. and if you was interested in one ya had to send a letter for additional information to get started and send a self address. or to get free informtion. I tryed one for beeded earring i made the five they wanted send it back and they got rejected cuz they didnt meet there SO called Standards. There's got to be Some kind of company where I can work at home making some type of crafts and using the u p s for shipping (u p s passes my house everyday on the gravel road) Ive looked online for them and I also see that not one of them is Redistared with the BBB therefor every one is faulty. I have great anger building inside cuz i want to help my hubby with the bills and everything else. My hubby is stressed out due to working two Jobs. Even though he'll say otherwise. where now he has a Skin rash caused by stressed, (is what the doc said) His first job is sales and works from 7am until 5pm the comes home eats dinner quickly, Then poof he's off to his part time job at an auto store for another 4-5 hours at night. He says hes not burnt out but I can see he is. The part time job is maybe a few nights and mostly every weekend. He told my father that he would rather work two jobs instead of having me go to work. I think that is very loving and carring, Is there really a thing called Work at home jobs. ? To make money or something? Or is that just a saying as in work at home mother who cleans the house and cooks. Yippy.
Please Let me know I would really like to hear from others about this. I have babysat in my home as well as sold tupperware for four years. There are also other businesses such as pampered chef (if you like cooking) and in my area there are two toy companies, highlights for children and discovery toys where you can sell their product. Also yahoo has a thing where you can set up and have a store, now you have to buy your product but you sell it and make money, you got to have venders and whatever else. My husband and I are starting an online amish store, we have contacted venders and have gotten samples of products. Also ther is ebay, if you are into crafts, maybe try selling on ebay, I don't know the details on that but of course you can research on the internet. I do odd jobs for people such as filing, babysitting, maybe even clean houses. I know most of those things are not neccessarily things to do at home but if you can spare a couple days aweek then maybe something like that could work out. I am sure there are more ideas, just keep researching it. |

Please Let me know I would really like to hear from others about this. There are 2 ways to increase income: make more or spend less. 1. If you decide to go to work, you need child care, a wardrobe, transportation, and an acceptance that the job expects you to go to work at the scheduled time. 2.If you decide to stay home, the ways you can save money are varied. You can reduce the electricity costs by using the clothesline to dry clothes and using your appliances at night rather than during the day. You can stop buying prepared foods and cook all home cooked meals. SInce you are in the country, you can have a garden and freeze/can food for the winter. ALso, you can sell the excess. Since you have 2 kids in school, I am sure that there are mothers who would love to have a place for their kids to go after school- thats a great source of income- and its only for a few hours a day. By staying home, you don't need to burn the extra gas going to and from work. I take 2 days a week where I do not start the car for anything- man, has THAT saved!! Crafts are not the way to go. People who like that style want to do it themselves as a hobby. The profit margin is non-existant. If you smoke,Stop smoking. If you drink beer, booze, stop drinking. Make the kids kool-aid instead of soda. Hook up with a local food shelf and volunteer your time. You get to see people and you bring home some food. Don't go shopping. Prepare a list, and stick to it. Take pride in your home. Don't whine. Don't think about getting rich. Cut back the cable and hit the library.To be honest, your hubby probably enjoys coming home to a nice warm house with good food and a loving environment. Go to church and meet some people.Enjoy your children and raise them well-thats the best job you can have- PS- don't listen to those ads on tv- they are full of beans. They just want YOUR money- thats how they made theirs.....

After reading your Quote I had to laugh. Due to you must be a person who lives in Town and have no clue about the Country. First of all your not my mother and therefor I cant see why nor how you can tell me what i should or shouldnt do. Im a blunt person myself and the way your quote is wrote is like your some type of Councelor. I will not go there!! Hang out laundry ?? I think not , you ever lived on a GRAVELED road as well as when the Larger Tractors are working the field and lets not Forget the Smell of Hogs and cows dew lingureing in the air to smell up any thing that is hung outside AND as well as the pestisides that are SPRAYed to. Hang out laundry you are funny. Only time that is Possiblie is when the wind is from the East. You reply to me like im some dumb woman who doesnt know how to save. This last poster was basically just giving you some friendly advice, and when this happens we have the right to accept it or deny it, I don't think there was any reason to get so bent out of shape, there is absolutely no way we can know everything about a person who posts on these boards, you act as if this poster knew everything about you and your living arrangements, any way, whatever the case, I hope you find what you are looking for but remember advice is just that, don't assume that people are going to know all about youand just keep trying your best to do what you need to do and remember when you ask for advice/ideas, you may just get them but it is up to you on rather or not the advice is good for your situation, nothing to get all bent out of shape over. |

You also spoke about finding some type of work- hence, I would assume that you wanted to make money from home because you needed it. Actually, I do live in the country, between 2 cattle farms and down the road from a chicken farm. At one time or another, I have lived in the city, suburbs and rural areas. I live in the country because I choose to and enjoy the lifestyle. My husband makes huge sacrifices so that we can raise our kids here and not in the city. You certainly do not have to take any of the ideas I offered. Those are simply for people who want to save money. Yes, they are basic- I didn't think you were looking into making investments or consolidating debt. And, if you are looking to enter the medical transcriptionist field, you might look into taking some grammar classes. When you are performing a task that can affect peoples health issues, perfection is a requirement- i.e. there is a WHOLE lot of difference between physiological and psychological and simple mistakes like that can cause someone a lot of sadness.... I wish I had hidden issues to hide behind, but what you see is what you get! :) Enjoy life!

Thanks! (sorry for such a long rant - this is my first post) Corrie Corrie, if you are afraid he'll think it's easy I will gladly send him e-mails describing the life of a stay at home mom with 2 kids in 2 years. When he reads about the baby that threw up EVERY ounce of formula you gave him, and the other one that while you were cleaning up the baby (and yourself and your new shirt )decided it would be a good time to try to put a knife in the electric socket, and when you scream he throws the knife, and proceedes ro run right into the the door frame, bruising his head and biting his lip. So, in the span on 15 minutes you are covered in vomited formula, a soaked through diaper, water from the ice for the older ones head, and blood from his mouth. And this isn't even one of the bad days. It is NOT an easy job. lol. It is the best job ever, but not an easy one.
I really hope you can work out staying at home, I don't think I could work unless completely necessary. I'd miss to many firsts. And, feel like I am the one who needs to be around to clean up the blood and kiss the bruises. Good luck to you.

I am disabled, I have heart problems, I am 43 yrs old, I hate to see my wife go out and work at her not so great paying job. She is a CNA/MM at an assisted living. She takes care of people all day and then comes home and has to take care of me and our children. I do try to keep the house clean and I do cook, My disability check doesnt amount to a hill of beans, It is hard to live on one income, we do the best we can, we make too much to be on any government help, and my wife does need some surgery, she doesnt have any health insurance as where she works dont offer it and we cant afford to pay the big price for it on our own. So what do we do. Cant even save 2 nickels to rub together. I feel she blames me for her lifestyle. OUr kids at least have a roof over there head, and food in their stomachs, but I feel the guilt, when they want some money to go out and be with their friends, to go to a movie or such and we have to tell them no....then they slam their door and wife cries.... We have tried to do the rummage sale thing but it doesnt pay off much. And the work that goes into it. just not worth it.

If he was around he would fix things, but I do all that stuff such as clogged drains, leaky toilets etc. I do everything except make the money. To save money I got to Aldi's to buy canned food and boxed foods. Only things I buy at Hy-Vees is meat and veg. & fruit. When the farmers market is going on I get my fruits and veg. there. Also clothes, there are stair step cousins in the family one each age from 7 down.!!! All but 3 are boys I have 3 boys and 1 girl. We pass cloths through the family. Saves a tone of money!
