(Original Air Date: 10/15/08) The speculation surrounding O.J. Simpson has never stopped since his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ron Goldman were tragically murdered 13 years ago. Millions watched O.J.'s infamous white Bronco chase on TV. The murder trial, which lasted 10 months, is often called the trial of the century and was the most watched in history. Simpson stirred the controversy again by attempting to publish a book called, If I Did It. While he says it's a work of fiction, the family of Ron Goldman believes If I Did It is his confession, and that he got caught up in the interview process for the book and forgot that he was supposed to be speculating rather than reporting. Now, the Goldmans are the focus of a huge controversy as they take over publishing the tome. Are they justified in taking the profits away from the man they believe to have killed their loved one? And, meet the ghostwriter of If I Did It, Pablo Fenjves, a man who sat across the table from O.J. for over three months as the former football star told him how it would have happened -- if he had been the killer. Join Fenjves as he goes back to the crime scene and reveals compelling details from his conversations with Simpson. Plus, Dr. Phil offers his take on O.J. and this now best-selling book. Was it a confession, or is it truly just a hypothetical account? Tell us what you think!

blood money

As a teenager I too had a family member murdered. It took its toll on us as a family. I remember the police officer saying my family should sue the person who did the crime. My Father said that all the money in the world would not bring my brother back and he felt it was better to heal the family then get involved in any more grief. The person involved was plead to a lesser crime and received no punisment in any real sense. I hope his punishment is a tourture life knowing what he did. It has been 50 years and it is still something we carry.

Let Nicole and Ron Rest In Peace

Why not let these two people rest in peace? O.J Simpson commited those murder's as far as I am concerned, and got away with it, like the old saying goes money talks. He had the best of the best to get him off., that is why they were called the "Dream Team". So he not only laughed in everyone's faces, but he is doing it again with this book of his, instead of being called "If I Did It ", he should have called " I Did It  And Got Away With It". Irregardless no one should be making any money off this tragedy. Money is not going to help the families bring they're loved ones back. So let this maniac O.J Simpson do what he wants to do because another old saying is "What goes around comes around" and he will get what he deserves in the long run. Dr. Phil you do a great job keep it up.

THE O. J. BOOK BATTLE

Quote From: emilec132

I think it is tragec how people presume that OJ is guilty.  After all, he was aquitted in the criminal trial.  Everyone assumes that OJ went there to kill his wife and that poor Ron Goldman happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.  I think that Ron was the intended victim and that OJ's wife opened the door at the wrong time.  I think it was a drug related killing.  Wasn't Ron's roommate, also, killed just shortly afterward?  Food for thought people.  How could OJ have committed such a bloody crime and not be covered in blood himself?  In the civil trial no one had to prove that he really committed the crime, only that he could have.  A lot of innocent victims are in prison today because no one had to prove that they were guilty.

I think it is about time everyone stops discussing this matter. He got away with double murder because of gullible people that he never cared about. He will get away with this too. I think he is a disgrace to the human race. That woman that is with him deserves whatever she gets. SHE KNEW WHAT WAS WHAT WHEN SHE GOT INVOLVED WITH HIM. I wish everyone would stop putting his face everywhere. I can't stand to look at the monster. I wish they would wise up, lock up the monster and throw away the key. I wouldn't want to be his kids. I feel sorry for them. Open your eyes people, he is telling you he did it. Do you need a picture?

OJ

OJ was found guilty in the civil trial and  has been at the very least codl and heartless to the Goldman's and Brown's for their losses. The poor Goldman's  and Brown's have never gotten justice and they may never get it until eternity. Nobody who hasn't been in their shoes can make a judgement as to why they are doing what they are doing.

SYMPATHY FOR THE CHILDREN

This "book" is so ridiculous!!  Has he even thought once about what this would do not only to the family of the victims, but especially his own children?!  Haven't they lost enough and been though so much all ready that now he is going to flaunt what he can do and get away with?  O.J., your going to need the money just to pay for your children's therapy after all of this?  I do hope he isn't making any money off of this because he is far from being entitled to it.  The Browne family and the Goldman family should share the profits.  I know they wouldn't want it because of what they lost for him to be able to ghost write it, but PLEASE, just as long as O.J. gets nothing from it!!  Those poor children.  Doesn't he seem to realize that this is going to traumatize them more?  O.J. has no sympathy for anyone but himself.  As well, doesn't he think what this will do to the Goldman and Browne families?  He certainly isn't thinking about the children or else this would never have been written.

10/15 The O.J. Book Battle

I understand the Goldman's family grief, but Nicole's family is playing it right by staying out of the press.  The Goldman's constantly keep this front and center in the press and by doing this they are feeding his ego, he loves the attention.  If they let it alone he would have to suffer out the rest of his life not being in the spot light.  He is playing that family and they are falling right in and taking the bait.  The worst thing he could have to endure is to live out the rest of his life forgotten about.  He is playing them to the hilt.  His every move is made to make sure that the judgment will be paid by upping the price of everything connected to him, and once he that is done ( The Goldman's are helping him the entire way with out knowing it ) he will then be able to stay in the spot light without having to answer to anyone.  Stop bringing attention to him and he can live out the rest of his life in misery with no one caring what he does. There is nothing worse for a narcissistic person then to be ignored.

I think the prosecution deliberately threw the "game"

I think that they were afraid of rioting should OJ have been found guilty, but knew that they had to charge and try him.

Remember that they didn't even say they were going for the death penalty?

This is Old News!!!!!!

O. J. doesn't deserve this attention.  If I were the Goldman family, I wouldn't want to give this guy that much power over my life.  I believe that in life, there is an ultimate justice and O. J. will receive this.  Otherwise, we should pay him no attention at all.  So, I've got other things I can do with this hour than watch anything about O. J.
