(Original Air Date: 10/15/08) The speculation surrounding O.J. Simpson has never stopped since his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ron Goldman were tragically murdered 13 years ago. Millions watched O.J.'s infamous white Bronco chase on TV. The murder trial, which lasted 10 months, is often called the trial of the century and was the most watched in history. Simpson stirred the controversy again by attempting to publish a book called, If I Did It. While he says it's a work of fiction, the family of Ron Goldman believes If I Did It is his confession, and that he got caught up in the interview process for the book and forgot that he was supposed to be speculating rather than reporting. Now, the Goldmans are the focus of a huge controversy as they take over publishing the tome. Are they justified in taking the profits away from the man they believe to have killed their loved one? And, meet the ghostwriter of If I Did It, Pablo Fenjves, a man who sat across the table from O.J. for over three months as the former football star told him how it would have happened -- if he had been the killer. Join Fenjves as he goes back to the crime scene and reveals compelling details from his conversations with Simpson. Plus, Dr. Phil offers his take on O.J. and this now best-selling book. Was it a confession, or is it truly just a hypothetical account? Tell us what you think!

Find out what happened on the show.

We will just keep turning the tables, thats smart. that will work.and the only ones that win are the killers.

So  sending a guilty black man free makes up for all of  innocent black men and women killed, that makes no sence, and is a slam on all the good people who died at the hand of another because of the color of their skin.

I would like to know what world you are living in. No Scott Peterson was not a black man, but I don't believe for  second that if he or Laci were black that they would have gotten the same media coverage. There are many murders of minority people that do not get covered. WAKE UP!

oj jury

Has it ever been mentioned that the jury in the oj trial was scared to death that the city would burn as it did in the Rodney King trial and that is why they aquitted him?  That is the only reason OJ was let go, that jury knew very well that he was guilty and they knew what would have happened in that city had they convicted him.

There are also plenty of white people who are murdered that do not get the "HUGE" media coverage! I don't know where you watch your news but I see media coverage about the murders of people of color all of the time. What about the black gentleman in NY who was shot by the police like over 100 times, or some outrageous number like that? This man was having his last night out as a "free" man just hours prior to his marriage the following day. This had tons of media coverage! I have a bad memory so I apologize that I can't remember his name, but I also can't remember white people's names either so that isn't a racial thing. What I do know for a fact is that I was sickened by what had happened to this innocent man, no matter what color he was! I know that you will never believe me when I say this but, I do not see people as being black, white, yellow, blue or green! I see them as people. I judge by character and substance. It never ceases to amaze me that now when it is so common to see interracial dating and marriage that the race card is still being played quite so heavily. If every white person is racist, then why are they dating and marrying outside of their race? It is the year 2008 and this continues to go on, yes, I do know that there are racist out there, I am not that naive. But I don't understand them either! No one color is better than the other. We are all created equal, or are at least supposed to be. We now have the International Space Station out there in space, we are so unbelievably technologically advanced, yet we still see people by the color of skin? It's ridiculous! BTW, my last spine surgeon was a black man and I trusted him with my life. My actual life was in this mans hands. It was a very dangerous and critical operation. I will trust this man forever but I don't trust my former "white" surgeon as far as I can throw him! Intelligence and skill is not related to the color of skin. I could go on and on but I'm sure that I'll be attacked for what I have already said here!

God Bless the Goldmans

I was a TV news producer back during the OJ trial and spent a few days in the courtroom. I was impressed then, and I am still blown away by the grace and humanity of the Goldman family. They suffered a horrible tragedy, and they still suffer to this day.  I applaud their efforts to keep tabs on that murderer, as I am sure that comes at a great personal cost to them.
I wish there was some way..some day...that the Goldmans can find some measure of peace.

No you need to wake up!! I didn't post to you about the Peterson case!!My post to you was about the committ you made about .Has america forgotten all the nameless black men and women who where killed by white people and got away with it. Tables have turned and america cant deal with it.

and my committ back to was the only people to win if we keep turning tables are the killers and the innocent black people killed by white people and got away with it,  how does letting a guilty man man go free make up for that? Comments like that are ignorant at least, and a insult to all that suffer at the hands of another and  their killers get away with it. no matter what color they may be.

I find it astounding that a victim of murder. is cared less for and used as a (how do you like that or in your face kind of thing)

I don't work for a news station, and I don't have control over what they but on at 5, but why don't you ask Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson why are they out their when help a little black girl goes missing? Why are they always around for black men like OJ and M. Jackson???

I can tell you this I have NEVER supported any man no matter their color that has harmed  woman and children!

so very true, Moshe's response

Quote From: jewelsf

There has been a case in New York, it's been in the news for the last year, of a "now" grown man who has spent most of his life in prison for the murder of his family. I'm sorry, at the moment I can't remember this mans name. All of his close relatives have believed him innocent from the beginning but he was convicted on a confession that was basically forced out of him while he was still under age. DNA has proven this man innocent and he has finally been released. But at what cost? There is nothing that can give this man back the life that has been denied him.  What a sad shame it is how many innocent people are imprisoned every day. If anyone would think about this clearly, for every innocent person who is convicted, a guilty person goes free.

I happen to know a woman who was murdered by her husband. She was an ex girlfriend of my brothers and a good friend of mine. It was well known that she was murdered by this man, it was even well known how it was done. Unfortunately the justice system moved a little too slowly in this case and by the time they decided to find the proof, too many years had gone by and there was no more proof to be found. This man gained custody of their daughter, has his own thriving company, and of course, his freedom. All of this while his wife, my friend, disintegrated away in the city sewage treatment facility. Between the sewage, the chemicals, and the grinders, there wasn't even a bit of bone left to be found when it was drained. The indignity of her body being thrown there, as her final resting place will forever haunt me. This happened almost 20 years ago and I have yet to forgive this man, so how can people say that the Goldman's should forgive OJ for what he has done?

One final note. The widespread use of DNA is convicting more of the true guilty parties nowadays and at the same time it is also setting the truly innocent free from the prisons that they have unjustly been forced to endure. But remember, when this particular (OJ) trial was going on, DNA was still in the early stages and also not as easily understood by many people.

Oh Jewel, thank you!  I understand we all have our own opinions; but I really get emotionally overwhelmed when people posting proclaim O.J. is innocent because of a court "saying so".  Oh my gosh.  It's truly appalling.  Then those who state it could have been a drug deal involving the heroic Ron Goldman and Nicole happened to be there.....listen if it were a drug deal gone bad, well then anyone with half a brain knows they would most definitely NOT have taken care of their business at Nicole's home, yet Ron's if that were the case.  What sickens me is the total and complete lack of empathy.  Concocting scenarios, people creating a bigger web of lies by their conjecture. You made a very brilliant point about what kind of life is it for the man (name you forgot) who's been released; is innocent..yet had to endure how many years of incarceration due to the system going wrong.  How many have suffered through this injustice.  Yet, out there are those wanting to protect a psychopathic, narcissistic, egomaniacal, violent, dishonest, showboating freak, with absolutely no conscience level what so ever.

My Dad always used to say and still does, "The only ones who know the truth about what happened are those who were there."  I concur with his statement but I believe the truth eventually comes out.  I also believe that what goes 'round always comes 'round, yes...Karma and all that....O.J. will get his just desserts one day, believe you me.  I am so terribly sorry for your poor friend's horrid death, and your pain and suffering; I too have been shell shocked and blown emotionally away by having found out over 25 yrs. ago that a "close" colleague was responsible for the murder of a wealthy women in our city, in a nutshell it was an attempted kidnapping for ransom that went amuck.  It went BAD.  I'm still not over the fact that I worked alongside this person for over 2 years, so the aspect of someone walking around innocent, when WE ALL KNOW O.J. Simpson is guilty is heart wrenching.

Yes, DNA, it of course has a joyful positive side and the unfortunate misconceptions about it when it was in its early stages of development didn't help matters, but we have it now thank gosh.  David Milgaard is a PRIME example of getting out and what follows, he cracked up at one point, couldn't handle society, he's trying and trying hard to this very day.  I only wish those withouy empathy never ever have to endure an ordeal and nightmare such as Nicole's family and Ron's family.  If I were them, I too would never let O.J. have a day's rest, a moment's peace.  I keep reiterating over and over that O.J. maintained from day one when the verdict came in, he would spend the rest of his life hunting down the killer(s)..he's been on the golf course from DAY ONE.  He's pathetic, I'm surprised he's still here.  Need I say more.

Guilty Guilty Guilty

OJ did it!!!!
This book and it's so called "hypothetical" basis is nothing more than another way for him to tell the world that he did it and he got away with it. He could scream it from the rooftops now and no one could do anyhting about it.
That is just what he has done!!!!!
I hope they nail him with these current charges.
And Nichole's kids?? I believe that he planned to enter Nichole's condo that night. Her coming downstairs, I think was just a fluke. I think he planned to kill those kids too!!! He proved, by killing Ron, that there would be no witness left.
I feel the pain of the Goldman's and the Brown's. I also feel for those kids. Denial is very powerful, but one day they will wake up and realize that their father did kill their mother and an unintended victim. They will further have to deal with that they were part of his original murderous plan.

why do you think you will be attacked for your opinion? do you think you said something wrong?why censor yourself? I heard  frustration at the other poster for their comments.

I get you totally.  I am:

Jewish, Russian, German, Polish, with the possibility of Italian (we're still tracing the family tree as my Mom's Mom was adopted and sadly passed when my Mom was only 6).  My daughter is the same background with Irish and Scottish (my ex-husband's background).

I AM A GOOD PERSON

I AM AN HONEST PERSON

WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS (some however are catagorized at MONSTERS, like O.J.)

I could be green, purple, black, orange, yellow, blue with white stripes for all I care, it's inside of each and everyone of us that makes us who we are, we are WHO we are NOT WHAT we are.  A butt is a butt, regardless of their colour, ethnicity, religion, etc...  If you are a nasty individual on the inside, well, you are simply nasty on the outside.  The unfortunate part, yes...I agree with you the RACE CARD will never go away.  I have sat in rooms when derrogatory comments have been made about Jews and I'm sitting right there.  Afterall we JEWS aren't running around with a tattoo on our forehead stating 'I'm a JEW', so how is one to know I'm Jewish, especially when daily I get told I look italian, greek, french.  I think I look like me.  This is absolutely nothing to do with RACE, this whole O.J. issue is about a monster who walked away GUILTY as hell, simply because a court of law and jury said he was innocent in the criminal trial.  Which is an injustice within itself.  Mistakes are made daily and quite frankly there's a few too many ignorant people full of HATE and ANGER on these boards, I will continue to post in defence of myself and others such as you Jewel (and another great lady named Julie who posts quite often), hope it's ok to use that pseudonym.  Discriminatory and Racist and Anti-Jewish HATE will never leave, if it weren't black against white (the ignorant idiots who feel this way) in our society, it would be GREEN EYES hating BROWN, and long haired people hating short haired people, wide footed people hating narrow footed people and so on and so forth.

Those hate mongers must live with themselves and if it's convenient and EASY for them to utilize the scapegoat of colour/race, etc...well they are the ones who have to do just that and LIVE WITH THEMSELVES.

Evil knows no colour, no religion, no ethnic.  What's really upsetting is all 'those' who play on the race card when it suits them and make us all look bad and we're immediately judged because of our background.  I have listened to people say, 'Jews have all the money.'  Well...I come from a family of Jews who never had a lot of money, my father works full time to this very day at the age of 82, 83 in July because he has too, he cannot afford to retire and they will give you the shirt off of their backs, always have and always will so when I am judged because of stereotypes, I just figure, well...I certainly don't need this individual in my world and I get rid of it, I walk away or say you walk away.  So in closing, O.J. did the crime, I only hope and pray he suffers the WORST nightmares every moment he's asleep and every waking breath he takes.
