(Original Air Date: 10/15/08) The speculation surrounding O.J. Simpson has never stopped since his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ron Goldman were tragically murdered 13 years ago. Millions watched O.J.'s infamous white Bronco chase on TV. The murder trial, which lasted 10 months, is often called the trial of the century and was the most watched in history. Simpson stirred the controversy again by attempting to publish a book called, If I Did It. While he says it's a work of fiction, the family of Ron Goldman believes If I Did It is his confession, and that he got caught up in the interview process for the book and forgot that he was supposed to be speculating rather than reporting. Now, the Goldmans are the focus of a huge controversy as they take over publishing the tome. Are they justified in taking the profits away from the man they believe to have killed their loved one? And, meet the ghostwriter of If I Did It, Pablo Fenjves, a man who sat across the table from O.J. for over three months as the former football star told him how it would have happened -- if he had been the killer. Join Fenjves as he goes back to the crime scene and reveals compelling details from his conversations with Simpson. Plus, Dr. Phil offers his take on O.J. and this now best-selling book. Was it a confession, or is it truly just a hypothetical account? Tell us what you think!

Find out what happened on the show.

In regard to OJ

I have to start by saying that I never believed that OJ Simpson commited murder. I always believed that there was more than 1 person who killed both Nicole and Ron. I believe that the reason had to do with drugs; that Nicole and Ron retired to her home to do drugs and have sex, and met their fatal end. Now that would be enough to enrage a husband; but I think that Nicole had a Cocaine habit and she owed the drug dealers. Her debt wasn't paid, and they killed her; when you owe, that is how it works. Ron was in the wrong place at the wrong time. There were documented reports back then that said she had a problem with drugs, that she used them in her home while her children were there and that she had sex with different men in the home while her children were there.  It was also reported that OJ refused to pay any drug debts for Nicole. It's not unusual for the rich and famous to get involved with Coke, because it is a party drug. Some people live for that party; I believe she was one of them. Neither deserved to die in the manner that they did; but for OJ to kill 2 people at his age and the condition of his body; he's old? Well, I find it inconceivable. He's not the same man that ran through the airport for Hertz. OJ did take care of Nicole and her family; he was a rich man, and I don't think any of them wanted for anything. I didn't see where Nicole elevated herself in her life; like in education or charity work. She and her family was taken care of; why should her husband be happy about a wife who was a drug addict and cheater? That may add up to many arguments; possibly fights and maybe murder for some men; but not murder for OJ. Not to me.

The Goldman's .....well they get on my nerves each time I see them. No amount of money is going to bring Ron back. It was reported that Ron did not have a good relationship with his father at the time of his death and that he was closer to his Mom. I don't see the Mom going after money for her son. I'm sure she grieves for him every day; and each time she sees them on TV it grieves her even more. They just seem like money grubbers to me. Ron did not deserve to die in that manner, I do agree. But money is not going to satisfy anything. Each time I see his sister, she's crying; money is not going to dry those tears no matter how relentless they are in trying to obtain it. If OJ wasn't who he is; they would be getting $1,000-$1,500 from a victim's fund and that's it, had the average Joe from the street killed Ron.

Finally, the author of the book Pablo and these new allegations of kidnapping and so forth. My advice to OJ is that he has no true friends; and they all want to cash in; he needs to cut them all off. First of all, I think Pablo's story was greatly exaggerated. If I really had this fear of OJ, he would have to get someone else to write his book. All I saw in him on the show was he wanted more money and noterity. As far as his new charges are concerned, there are "thugs" on both sides of the coin; the men with OJ's items and OJ's people. If OJ says they were stolen from him, how did they get them? He wanted them back I guess for sentimental reasons. It was said that they were not worth more than $1000-$2000. The Goldman's wanted them. I don't  believe he had a gun; one of the men with the items said he didn't have a gun; I saw that on TV. I also thought that kidnapping required some type of movement from one place to another by force. No one made a case against the men for the stolen items. They want OJ so bad they over looked that; if they received stolen goods, that's a crime.  He made a bad judgement call and should have gone about it another way; could it be that he probably couldn't count on the police to help him because of the issues that still haunts him? He may be cocky and arrogant, but that doesn't mean he killed anyone. I see the same arrogance and cockiness in Mr. Goldman for that matter.

Johnny Cochran died several years ago-he did the job he was paid to do; to defend OJ. He was a brilliant lawyer; the man is not here to defend himself or his name now.

I don't believe what they said about him on the show; nor do I think he was taunting the Goldman' s at the time when the verdict was read. I didn't hear the Brown's report that; nor do I see the Brown's on the same forum as the Goldman's talking about money. That says a lot to me.

KPRC -- Houston

When I saw the promo on the upcoming show regarding the Simpson book, I thought that's a show I want to see. But during the show, KPRC interrupted two or three times with the weather report. I hate that.

10/15 The O.J. Book Battle

I read the book and bought extra copies to give as gifts just so that I could support the Goldman family. I admire so much what they have done during these past few years.  They took a horrible tragedy and turned it into a way to do some good to help victims of crime.  It is outrageous that OJ is allowed to walk free, to play golf, and to raise their children. Those children must be so psychologically damaged. I am a School Psychologist by profession, and I worry about them and their survival.  They should be in intensive therapy.

I don't understand how anyone could hold anything against the Goldmans with this book publishing?? All they wanted to do was not let OJ profit once again from killing their son and brother.  They are doing the only thing that the courts allow them to do, and I do think their relentless pursuit is unraveling OJ.  I hope that that fact gives the Goldman some piece of mind because OJ knows until his dying day the Goldmans will be watching his every moment.  I think everyone should support the Goldmans by buying at least one copy of this book, and my prayers and thoughts are with the Goldman family.

10/15 The O.J. Book Battle

Quote From: lmcbride07

Whatever the motive is(civil suit) and I beleive it is out of love and justice for their son/brother.Shame on you!!!!!!!and who the hell are you to pass judgement . I cannot believe you would say and I quote

"Mr. Goldman is not pushed by the tragedy of their son's death. They are pushed by one simple emotion:"

GREED

I believe their pushed by the fact  that this sick monster would not only make a profit from the book but the book that he in fact details his sick and disgusting crime would be published! Well your Damn right if any one is entitled to the profit its the families surrounding this sick murderer who took their loved ones from them.

I really hate when people like you complain about the victoms families  being GREEDY! WALK IN THEIR SHOES! Every family has arguments but good GOD if a family member of mine was murdered after an argument even if it were for 1 week or 1 year. I just can not understand your remarks, and ya know...maybe its because you dont like your family or they dont like you?dont pass judgement here you dont know the situation with Ron and his family

Hows that feel??? not good huh?

Sometimes I can't believe what I read.  How do you know what Ron and his family relationships were?  If they had a disagreement that doesn't mean anything, and it certainly doesn't negate the horror and sadness they would feel with his murder. I hope that you are never faced with such a tragedy in your family.

The Goldman family wants to stop OJ from profiting from their son's murder.  What is hard to understand about that?? This is the only legal way the courts have allowed them to get some justice.  As it is the money they receive from the sale of the books goes to victims of crime.  How can you twist that to make it into something that they are doing wrong?  I'm constantly amazed at people's thought process. Try having an open mind, and putting yourself in their place. Wouldn't you want to seek justice for the death of a loved one????

Do they like living in Anger?

I am terribly sorry for the death of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown. Fred and Kim are coming across as gold-diggers in publishing such filth and garbage. OJ was found "not guilty" in the criminal trial of Ron and Nicole. The civil suit seems like double jeopardy in my opinion.  How can Kim set on the Dr. Phil stage and say she laughed when she heard OJ got arrested?  She is no better than OJ, "IF HE DID IT".  She stated very smugly, that she would like to think that they played a role in him coming apart at the seams.  Any person, wrongly convicted of a crime, that had someone on a witch hunter after them for 10 years, should be pissed and would start to come apart at the seams. Fred and Kim are no better than OJ, "IF HE DID IT".  Kim is sick and demented for saying she would like to see him on death row, with a needle of death in his arm, to witness his killing. She is no better than OJ and his band of hoodlums in Las Vegas, "IF THEY DID IT".  It is like they are so obsessed with being angry in their witch hunt towards OJ. My thought is, that it is to much work to live life full of anger, hatred, animosity and prejudice.  One day someone may come forward and say "HE DIDN'T DO IT"!!!

opinions are NOT facts

It is unbelievable that society is starting this up again.  The Goldman's should be sending OJ a big fat thank you card for all the money they are making off of him.  Their message is nothing more than greed.  He went to trial and got off, but everyone is still acting like they are in the court room.  Let it go.  What did these people personally mean to any of you anyway?  Why don't they take all their money and open a rehabilitation organization for people that they "think" are like OJ.  Wouldn't that be sending an awesome message to the public?  Nope, just greedy jews.  Most people earn their fortune and others just take it from someone else.  I pity them terribly.  They are worse than OJ could ever imagine being.  I do not feel sorry for them at all.  We all write our own scrolls and this is how those two chose to leave this life.  They have lessons to learn and have probably already reincarnated to continue their journey.  And "IF" and I say "IF" OJ is responsible for this, then he too was chosen to be there.  LET IT GO PEOPLE!!!  If you'd put in as much concern to the starving and homeless, this world just might become a better place after all, but if we keep dwelling in the bullshit of others then we are just as guilty as the next guy.  Try making a difference instead of pointing your sorry fingers.  What do you see when "YOU" look in the mirror each day?  Worthiness or worthlessness?

I may sound a bit harsh, but what exactly do the Goldman's plan on getting out of all of this?  They're angry and they just want to hold on to it.  Anger has consumed them and they know of nothing else but to dwell in their self pity.  Accept it and move on!  How about Robert Blake?  Didn't he get off from killing his wife?  Why aren't we dwelling in that story?  He was famous.......

LET IT GO

Quote From: kellystwin

Its clear to me that OJ did commit this horrible crime and simply won by a tragic list of technicalities and allot of money! His pathetic effort to apologize to a nation that once worshiped him is twisted and is a clear sign of his mental state! He is I believe a sociopath in nature so truly believes that he can in some way regain respect while making money at the same time! His life has become so pathetic with friends that come from shady backgrounds! Great for the Goldman's! Hold him responsible! Spend the rest of their lives haunting him! He needs this constant reminder of the lives he so selfishly destroyed!
NUMBER ONE HE SHOULD HAVE NEVER MARRIED BENEATH HIMSELF HE SHOULD HAVE KNOW IT WAS ALL ABOUT MONEY AND HIM HAVING A CHANCE AT SOMETHING THAT WAS ALWAYS FORBIDDEN BUT DID HE DO IT I DON'T THINK SO I READ THE BOOK AND ITS JUST A BOOK AND THOSE FAMILYIES NEED TO BACK OFF BECAUSE IT ALL GOES BACK TO MONEY ITS OKAYTO MARRY ONE BUT ITS BETTER TO MARRY A RICH ONE THEN TAKE ANYTHING HE OWNES IF YOU CHECK THE DNA THE CHILDREN ARE BLACK 99.8% HIS DNA SO HOW MUCH DO THEY REALLY LOVE THERE GRANDCHILDREN OR DO JUST LOVE THER MONEY CHILDREN ARE SMART AND BELIEVED THEY LOVE THERE FATHER AND ALWAYS WILL REGARDLESS OF THE BRAINWASHING PROCESS THOSE FAMILIES BELIVED WE GOT ONE UP ON THEM

The Kindness of African Americans

Quote From: applecherry

EVERYONE IS ALWAY'S TALKING ABOUT HOW HE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH BLACKS. THAT'S FINE. THE THING IS.

HE IS BLACK

AND THAT SOMETHING HE CAN'T ESCAPE FROM. AND EVERYONE THOUGHT THAT THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN PEOPLE WASN'T GOING TO STAND BY HIM BECAUSE OF HIS CHOSE IN LIFE. THAT'S NOT HOW AFRICAN-AMERICAN DOES THINGS. IF HE'S CHOOSE TO SOCIALIZE WITH WHITE'S ASIAN'S OR HISPANIC"S HE'S STILL BLACK.
AND AFRICAN-AMERICAN IS GOING TO STAND BY THEIR OWN THROUHG THICH & THIN UNTILL PROVEN GUILTY.
I do agree with you here that the African Americans did have OJ's back all the way...but it was sad to see how he turned his back on them after the trial was over.  Again as said in a previous post that I made coming from a multiracial family...I believed he was guilty and still do to this day.  And I will have someones back requardless of race because I was raised in a family who doesnt see the color of someones skin but the person inside.  But in my opinion OJ's antics and the things he's doing today still shows to me he's guilty! What father would have his children involved in a book so disgusting as this? And whatever his feelings about Nicole they have should not of been made public for his kids to read!   And it's not because he's black it's because he's an idiot.  I believe there is racism in EVERY race..so to pinpoint racisim to one race is crazy.  There is always going to be someone from every race ruining it for the rest of us and until (which may never happen unless we are given a miracle) we all stand together reguardless of the color of our skin things are never going to change.  I just thank my family for showing me true love and giving me the best gift in the world to not see color.  I wish everyone would of been givin this gift because it's such a peaceful feeling.  And if im ever given static from someone...I don't not say oh they are racist toward me or they are this or that...I just chalk them up to what they are...whatever be the case..but never based on the color of their skin.

i give the goldmans alot of credit!!!!!

I REALLY FEEL FOR THE GOLDMAN FAMILY. I DO FEEL THEIR SON AND BROTHER WOULD BE PROUD OF HOW THE DO NOT LET THIS MURDERER HAVE ANY PEACE. I AM SURE THEY DONT HAVE A DAY, AND EVEN A MOMENT SOMETIMES THAT IT DOES NOT POP INTO THEIR HEADS. TODAY IS 15 YEARS MY BROTHER WAS MURDERED AND ALTHOUGH HIS KILLER WAS CAUGHT, UNFORTUNATELY HE SPENT ONLY 3 YRS OF A 12 YEAR SENTNENCE IN JAIL. NOT A DAY GOES BY THAT I DONT HAVE THE SAME SICK THOUGHTS ON WHAT HAPPENED AND HOW MY BROTHER FELT THOSE LAST FEW MINUTES AND SECOND OF HIS LIFE. I CAN ONLY HOPE HE KNEW THAT HE WAS LOVED DEARLY BY HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY, AND THAT THE LORD TOOK THAT INTO CONSIDERATION AND MADE HIS LAST JOURNEY A PEACEFUL ONE. I CAN ONLY HOPE SO. UNLESS YOU HAVE HAD SOMEONE VICIOUSELY TAKEN AWAY BY SOME ANIMAL WITH NO REGARD FOR THE PERSONS LIFE THEY ARE TAKING, OR WHAT IT WILL DO TO THE PEOPLE THEY ARE LEAVING BEHIND, YOU CANT POSSIBLY KNOW WHAT THE GOLDMANS ARE FEELING. TO KIM, I ALSO LOST A BROTHER I LOVED VERY MUCH WHO WAS NOT ONLY MY BROTHER, BUT ALSO A DEAR FRIEND . I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL. SO WHATEVER YOU CAN DO TO FEEL YOU ARE HONORING YOUR BROTHERS MEMORY DO IT. DONT WASTE ONE SECOND CONCERNING YOURSELF WITH WHAT OTHERS MIGHT SAY. IT IS YOUR LOSS AND YOUR GRIEF, AND IF FOR ONE SECOND YOU CAN GET ANY SATISFACTION , SAVOR IT!! AND TO MY BROTHER JOE, I WOULD LIKE TO ADD IT HAS BEEN 15 YEARS TODAY. WE MISS YOU WITH EVERY BREATH WE TAKE. YOU WERE ONE OF 12 CHILDREN, AND WILL ALWAYS HAVE A SPECIAL LITTLE PLACE IN MY HEART, BECAUSE THERE IS NOT JUST SADNESS WHEN I THINK OF YOU. VERY OFTEN THERE IS A LITTLE FLUTTER OR FEELING I GET WHEN I THINK OF YOU, AND SOMETIMES I ACTUALLY CAN SMILE AGAIN. I BELIEVE THAT IS YOU LETTING US KNOW THAT ALTHOUGH YOU DONT WALK THIS EARTH, YOU ARE STILL A VERY BIG PART OF MY LIFE AND WILL BE TILL I SEE YOU AGAIN.

OJ - Guilty

I cannot believe the people out there that believe OJ is innocent of this crime.  There was DNA evidence to back the prosecution.  It just shows when a trial is turned into a soap opera what can happen!  A killer goes free.

Why would a so called innocent man even fathom a book about "if I did it?"  I guess his figures the American public is stupid.  Well we aren't.  Thanks for confession OJ, its a little to late!

I hope that this current issue OJ is involved in has him locked up until he is carried out in a body bag!  He isn't above the law and it will eventually catch up to him!

Hooray for the Goldman family getting one up on OJ!
