(Original Air Date: 10/15/08) The speculation surrounding O.J. Simpson has never stopped since his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ron Goldman were tragically murdered 13 years ago. Millions watched O.J.'s infamous white Bronco chase on TV. The murder trial, which lasted 10 months, is often called the trial of the century and was the most watched in history. Simpson stirred the controversy again by attempting to publish a book called, If I Did It. While he says it's a work of fiction, the family of Ron Goldman believes If I Did It is his confession, and that he got caught up in the interview process for the book and forgot that he was supposed to be speculating rather than reporting. Now, the Goldmans are the focus of a huge controversy as they take over publishing the tome. Are they justified in taking the profits away from the man they believe to have killed their loved one? And, meet the ghostwriter of If I Did It, Pablo Fenjves, a man who sat across the table from O.J. for over three months as the former football star told him how it would have happened -- if he had been the killer. Join Fenjves as he goes back to the crime scene and reveals compelling details from his conversations with Simpson. Plus, Dr. Phil offers his take on O.J. and this now best-selling book. Was it a confession, or is it truly just a hypothetical account? Tell us what you think!

Find out what happened on the show.

10/15 The O.J. Book Battle

Quote From: rshefflerj

I find it amazing that a jury aquitted OJ while most everyone else finds him guilty.  Perhaps if these people were on the jury, their opinion might be different.

I find it amazing that the cover for the book makes it look like an admission of guilt.  Why change the font for "If" to such a small size?

I find it amazing that a witness for the prosecution in the trial turns out to be the "ghost writer" for the book.  I wonder how much Pablo knew before the interviews began.  Seems like he has enough information to  have been the murderer himself.

I find it amazing that OJ can be aquitted on a criminal charge, yet be found guilty of a civil lawsuit.

I find it amazing that the Goldman's can use the death of their loved one to make a fortune for themselves and I wonder when they will change their name to "Golddiggers"?

I wonder how much the Goldman's would have profited from the items that OJ alledgedly took from the Las Vegas Hotel room if he had gone to the police to try to recover those items.

I find you easily amazed. The Goldmans are entitled to every penny they can recoup from this horrible offense to their family member. The Goldmans have god in their corner. Bless them

If they could "get a life" I am sure it would be Ron's.
Bess you for your insight. Ron is what keeps them inspired. These are wonderful people who have been robbed of something precious .

Your right I am righteous about the justice system

Quote From: sequins

You seem to be forgetting that "the children" are no longer children. They are both of age now and both had to sign off on the book deal as was stated on the program today. One can only guess what the circumstances were regarding that. One thing is certain and that is they either signed off on it of their own volition, in which case that makes them vultures feeding off of their dead mother's carcass, or they were pressured into it by their father for the funds that were " supposedly " to be put in trust for their future. Regardless of the circumstances, what kind of father would ever dream of writing such a book? "Hey kids! If I would have stabbed your mother to death and almost decapitate her,oh and another innocent person who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, this is how I would have done it." Are you kidding? You seem to be so righteous about the justice system. Well juries are wrong all the time my friend. Just because you are found not guilty doesn't mean you didn't do it and vice versa. You are also forgetting there was a jury in the civil case who did find him guilty beyond reasonable doubt. If O.J really wanted to secure his children's welfare, how about getting a job? I'm sure there are plenty of people out there of questionabl morality who would be happy to hire such a bottom feeder. But maybe he doesn't have the time. After all, he's probably out there looking for the real killer between rounds of golf.

You are right, I am righteous about the justice system. I watched the justice system convict my brother of something he did not do. Trust me, I thought he had done it and until someone that was at the scene of the crime, I never believed he was innocent. That is why I say I would rather have 10 people that are guilty not be charged than one innocent man go to jail.

As far as the civil case goes, the stakes are a lot lower. If I would have been on the OJ jury, I wouldn't have been able to say with 100% he did it when they showed the glove didn't fit.

Explain OJ in the white bronco and then tell me that he didn't do it!!  Of course he did it!!

No wonder Bush is our president with Complete Idiots out there that can come up with any lame excuse to say OJ is innocent.  OMG, if this person watched the trial?   I guess they weren't with the "NEW" DNA evidence.  Guess they just couldn't comprehend that OJ's guilt was proved beyond ANY doubt.  Let's run the DNA over now that the public is aware of it.  Can't believe what idiotic excuses make for a killer.

Nutty People

Quote From: jannypa

You wonder why he wasn't covered in blood....he brought different dark clothing...Nicole's and Ron's blood was found in the Bronco and in his shower...The reason he was acquitted was because by playing the race card, the jury IGNORED the mountains of evidence pointing to only one killer, OJ Simpson...I'm sure if they had an actual video of the killing, that ignorant jury still would have acquitted him!
Emilec132, is grossly mistaken, just looking for an arguement and/or to look extremely ignorant.  You can't stuff bread in a turkey when the turkey is all ready full of it.....

I find it amazing that you, for one moment can't understand the Goldman's position.  Let's see how you would fair if you were walking in their shoes.

O.J. Did It

I find it repulsive that O.J. would have the nerve after getting away with a double murder to publish a book.  Even though it's been said that Ron didn't have a good relationship with his father prior to his death, that's still his son and it's normal for him to grieve over the loss of his son.  I found the father and daughter to be very sincere in their quest to obtain justice in the name of Ron.  Although O.J. got away with it here on earth, he will have to answer to a higher power, which there is no escaping once his time is up in this world.

Didn't they say that the kids sat down with OJ and others and signed and agreed for the book to be published?
Yes they did.  At least the children were going to get some money.  It is just a shame that what the kids were going to inherit is gone. Their mother is gone, and as for a father he isn't their really.  It is just sad!
