(Original Air Date: 10/15/08) The speculation surrounding O.J. Simpson has never stopped since his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ron Goldman were tragically murdered 13 years ago. Millions watched O.J.'s infamous white Bronco chase on TV. The murder trial, which lasted 10 months, is often called the trial of the century and was the most watched in history. Simpson stirred the controversy again by attempting to publish a book called, If I Did It. While he says it's a work of fiction, the family of Ron Goldman believes If I Did It is his confession, and that he got caught up in the interview process for the book and forgot that he was supposed to be speculating rather than reporting. Now, the Goldmans are the focus of a huge controversy as they take over publishing the tome. Are they justified in taking the profits away from the man they believe to have killed their loved one? And, meet the ghostwriter of If I Did It, Pablo Fenjves, a man who sat across the table from O.J. for over three months as the former football star told him how it would have happened -- if he had been the killer. Join Fenjves as he goes back to the crime scene and reveals compelling details from his conversations with Simpson. Plus, Dr. Phil offers his take on O.J. and this now best-selling book. Was it a confession, or is it truly just a hypothetical account? Tell us what you think!

Find out what happened on the show.

OJ'S DEFENDER

Quote From: rebelfan

I have always been a Dr. Phil fan, but after what i saw today i was totally frustrated with the show. I know that O.J. couldn't be there, but someone should have been there to defend him. I'm not saying that he didn't do it, i'm not saying that he did it, but for all of these people to say all of these things sound like to me that the show was to try & get more people to share the opinions with everyone on the show. Will there be a show with O.J.'s people to rebut what was said today. I know that it does not make a difference to Dr. Phil but i highly disappointed with today's show.
  • SO YOU ARE A FAN OF OJ'S, I WAS TOO AND I TAPED THE WHOLE TRIAL 101 TAPES I BELIEVE, BUT AS TIME GOES ON YOU NEED TO FACE FACTS, HE'S SO GUILTY BUT THATS OUR SYSTEM THAT LET HIM WALK AND BE FREE OF THIS CRIME, BUT CARMA IS A BITCH AND HE'S LIVING IT IN EVERYWAY, OUR GOOD LORD DON'T LET THINGS GO BY WITHOUT SOME KIND OF WAKE UP CALL, SO I'M GOING TO SELL THESE TAPES TO SOMEONE WHO REALLY WANTS THEM.

Re-open the case, to many unanswered questions !!!!!!

UGH !!!!

Here I sit watching this episode and wonder why, just why people think OJ is THAT smart. Look at the crap he pulled with his stolen belongings, man he is a real rocket scientist. He couldn't deal with that situation alone, so what makes anyone believe he did thee most unspeakable act all alone back in June of "94.  Is he really that arrogant or was he just that money hungry to want to write, what he believes America wants to read, and already knows. Or are these accounts of events that he witnessed himself, but was just that, thee observer. Sure he knows certain facts, and can straight faced tell of such an horrific event. Either he was one of two killers, or he was the look out.  Or is it actually a possibility this man does have a guilty conscience...na. Any man that could take part in the death of the mother of his children, should be having nightmares til the day he dies.

At the time this case was being tried, I was a Criminal Justice student. So needless to say, I watched , read and discussed this case everyday it was happening.

I know everyone thinks he is guilty as sin, but is he really. I believe he is guilty by helping plan this horror. If only one person was to do the kind of damage that was done to beautiful Nicole, and heroic Ron, he would have to have been very strong, and been both left and right handed.

The Medical examiners report on Ron at trail stated he was stabbed as they said on the show, 27-30 times. Theory is or should I say speculation, he sustained blows from both a double edged and single edged knife. Also that these cuts were made, by both a right handed and left handed individual or individuals. This was stated, because of the force and penetration of the cuts. I have included a link to a site with varying information regarding this disgusting display of disregard of a young man's life. I can't find what I remember hearing at the trial, but just this article is enough to make someone question, how can one man have caused this much damage???????

There were so many more questions, I think, then there were answers. I believe at that time, the focus was so directed at OJ, because of the battle in the court room and it's players. That it wasn't even an option to consider the fact it was more than one person. The ghost writer stated on the show " I strippd my clothes and handed them to, was it a Charlie"??. Because that is exactly what happen. The evidence had to dissappear to somewhere, and someone had to have helped to get rid of it.

The aquittal happened because there really was no solid evidence. No smoking gun, no weapons found, and just total mayhem with prejudice remarks, tainted evidence and media frenzy.

I say re-examine the evidence. Give it fresh eyes. No OJ can't be re-tried, but there may be other questions and possibly another assailant that can be punished.

OJ Got Away With Nicole and Ron's Murder

Quote From: lisa_noe

that the media is willing to spend time, and energy on a sad soul as O.J. is!!!

He did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  and got away with it.  what else to ad to that!  The whole world knows his story already, as a matter of fact, we are tired of his storyies.

so no................ this book will not be one that Ill encourage!

Elisabeth

It frustrates and angers me to know that this man, OJ Simpson, is walking the streets a free man. He knows as well as his lawyers, the judge, the court and most of America that he committed these murders.

When you get mad and frustrated when you do not get everything you want, like he was always used to getting, then HE thinks this is the answer?

Two beautiful human beings were taken off this earth before they should have been.......3 families are grieving.........The Goldman's, The Brown's and Simpson's own family because you know they know in their hearts he killed the mother of his children and her friend.

Thank you Dr. Phil for airing this program.......the media should NEVER let anyone forget that OJ SIMPSON because he was a famous football player and actor(LOL) got away with two horrific murders and then rubbed the justice system's face in it by ghost-authoring a book telling how he did it and HE DID DO IT!!!

O.J. Book Battle

Quote From: lisa06manning

  • I WOULD NOT BUY THIS BOOK, ALL THAT DOES IS GIVE GOLDMANS MORE BLOOD MONEY. THEY MAKE ME SICK. NOT ONLY ARE THEY PLAYING GAMES WITH OJ THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF THEIR SONS DEATH, IN MY EYES THEY ARE NO BETTER THAN OJ .
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but don't you honestly think you are being somewhat harsh?  You can call it blood money if you choose to, my experience in trying to obtain child support came across initially to me that I didn't want my ex's "blood money", because it was his new wife's account paying for my child, so the terminology blood money can and may be utilized for many different reasons and issues.  I changed my mind about it as I realized, why having brought a child into this world should the asshol* not help but provide, therefore why on earth should the Goldmans not take anything they can away from O.J. after all he took their son didn't he?  I would do the exact same thing as the Goldmans, I would never let O.J. "murderer" Simpson have a day's rest and/or peace.  For you to compare them to O.J. is simply terrible within itself, there is absolutely no comparison and you need not keep YELLING IN CAPS.  You don't seem to be a parental figure to me, regardless of that.  Don't buy the book and if you are sick of this whole thing then why do you keep posting?

defending the psycho named O.J.

Quote From: lisa06manning

  • YOU GET REAL, I DO KNOW HOW IT FEELS, MY DAD WENT ON A RAMPAGE AND KILLED 3 PEOPLE AND CRITICALLY INJURING MY BROTHER-INLAW, SO GO RUN YOUR  HEAD ABOUT SOMETHING YOU KNOW ABOUT.

Wow!  You keep continuing to write in CAPS, indicating in PC lingo that you are very defensive and very ANGRY.  Caps = YELLING!!!!

Stop yelling if you want to get your point across, which is wrong by the way.  You'd think someone who states such as yourself that you went through a horror show due to your Dad going on a killing rampage, you'd be empathetic; but then again, maybe there's the possibility that your anger is displaced within these posts and message boards, maybe you're angry at YOUR DAD and thus projecting your attitude in defence against those who defend the Goldmans and Nicole and her family and NOT O.J.

Something to think about and ponder just maybe??  Or maybe you're just ANGRY in general.  Don't make a comment about something I "know about", you have not walked the miles for which I have in my shoes.

Sincerely,

Ex beaten Wife

Ex abused Wife

Ex stalked Wife

Ex Mother and Child who walked away and continue to look over our shoulders every single day.

Ex Victim of Severe Violence

Quote From: lisa06manning

  • GOLDMANS, THEY ARE SO INTO THEIR SELVES. THEY ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES THAT HAS HAD DEATH IN THEIR FAMILY. THE REST OF US WHO HAVE HAD THIS SORROW ALSO, DONT GO OUT AND MAKE A BUCK OFF OF ONE OF OUR LOVED ONES DEATH, UNLIKE THE GOLDMANS, WHO ARE NOTHING BUT BLOOD SUCKERS THEMSELVES.
Do you not recall the Goldman's saying they wouldn't take a PENNY if he just confessed?

They are not out for money...they are out to make a murderer PAY in one legal way or another..GOOD FOR THEM.

I also watched the trial in its entirety.  Your thoughts are the same as mine were then, and moreso, today.  Too many questions, not enough of an investigation,  and contaminated evidence.  Add a little perjury to the mix, there is your acquittal.

IF all of the attention on this book were to spur the LA District Attorney's office to take a second look at what they missed the first time, maybe the Goldmans would find some closure.

I feel for the families.  They most want their loved ones back...cannot happen.  They then, must have wanted justice...we saw that go up in smoke.  Now, all that is left is the remnants of the Civil Suit...money which I do not believe could be of any great significance.

How much did they actually see in dollars?  After everyone took their cut, even had O.J. kept the rights to it...how much was there?  I do not think it was a best seller.

Had O.J. been a "lookout", which IS a definite possibilty,  there is a chance that the assailants could be punished.  Same if he had an accomplice, double jeopardy would not apply to him.

Sadly, it was so poorly handled, I doubt if any prosecuter would want to re-open that can of worms, although I realy wish they would.

I will NEVER believe that carnage was done by one man.

So very true......................

Quote From: moshetova

Touche again!  I concur, definitely education would be good for the person you posted to.  I cannot fathom how many people think a person is innocent because a court of law depicted so.  Travesties and injustices have taken place throughout history in courtrooms; so many cases of point, however one example is David Milgaard and the 27 years he served in prison for a CRIME which he did NOT COMMIT.  Then there's Guy Paul Moren and the crime he didn't commit, DNA was his justice, and so on and so forth.  I guess many people would share and hold a different opinion if it was a tragedy in their family, this is sad within itself.  OJ is guilty, everyone knows this.

There has been a case in New York, it's been in the news for the last year, of a "now" grown man who has spent most of his life in prison for the murder of his family. I'm sorry, at the moment I can't remember this mans name. All of his close relatives have believed him innocent from the beginning but he was convicted on a confession that was basically forced out of him while he was still under age. DNA has proven this man innocent and he has finally been released. But at what cost? There is nothing that can give this man back the life that has been denied him.  What a sad shame it is how many innocent people are imprisoned every day. If anyone would think about this clearly, for every innocent person who is convicted, a guilty person goes free.

I happen to know a woman who was murdered by her husband. She was an ex girlfriend of my brothers and a good friend of mine. It was well known that she was murdered by this man, it was even well known how it was done. Unfortunately the justice system moved a little too slowly in this case and by the time they decided to find the proof, too many years had gone by and there was no more proof to be found. This man gained custody of their daughter, has his own thriving company, and of course, his freedom. All of this while his wife, my friend, disintegrated away in the city sewage treatment facility. Between the sewage, the chemicals, and the grinders, there wasn't even a bit of bone left to be found when it was drained. The indignity of her body being thrown there, as her final resting place will forever haunt me. This happened almost 20 years ago and I have yet to forgive this man, so how can people say that the Goldman's should forgive OJ for what he has done?

One final note. The widespread use of DNA is convicting more of the true guilty parties nowadays and at the same time it is also setting the truly innocent free from the prisons that they have unjustly been forced to endure. But remember, when this particular (OJ) trial was going on, DNA was still in the early stages and also not as easily understood by many people.
