(Original Air Date: 10/15/08) The speculation surrounding O.J. Simpson has never stopped since his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ron Goldman were tragically murdered 13 years ago. Millions watched O.J.'s infamous white Bronco chase on TV. The murder trial, which lasted 10 months, is often called the trial of the century and was the most watched in history. Simpson stirred the controversy again by attempting to publish a book called, If I Did It. While he says it's a work of fiction, the family of Ron Goldman believes If I Did It is his confession, and that he got caught up in the interview process for the book and forgot that he was supposed to be speculating rather than reporting. Now, the Goldmans are the focus of a huge controversy as they take over publishing the tome. Are they justified in taking the profits away from the man they believe to have killed their loved one? And, meet the ghostwriter of If I Did It, Pablo Fenjves, a man who sat across the table from O.J. for over three months as the former football star told him how it would have happened -- if he had been the killer. Join Fenjves as he goes back to the crime scene and reveals compelling details from his conversations with Simpson. Plus, Dr. Phil offers his take on O.J. and this now best-selling book. Was it a confession, or is it truly just a hypothetical account? Tell us what you think!

Find out what happened on the show.

About the book......................

Quote From: shellajh

HE DID IT! I can't believe there are STILL people who think otherwise.  He killed two people, got away with it, raised NICOLE'S children after he hacked her neck  in half and is a stone cold bastard who only cares about golf.

Poor Ron................I hope the Goldman's make money on the sale (I bought the book today). I hope OJ is seething at the thought of money in THEIR pockets!

I support the Goldman's in their quest for any justice that they can get. I support them with their rights to this book and feel that anyone who chooses to buy it is their business. Personally, I will not buy this book, I already know most of what happened anyway and can't handle the thought of reading OJ's actual words. It would sicken me too bad. But for those of you who can handle it, I say "Good reading!".

07/02 The O.J. Book Battle

Quote From: moshetova

I agree with every single word you said, you are right....................

There's a few of us who keep posting about the horror of it all, but the resistance from those who believe this psychotic piece of crap O.J. is innocent are truly blind and I too wish someone could get through to them all.

I feel the same way about getting through to people who think he is innocent.

There is something wrong with people that can't leave OJ alone and keep on prodding claiming he did it when in fact, we do not know if he did or who did, right folks???  This is just conjecture and someone's opinion.  Frankly, as an American I believe we have to support our legal system as best we can UNLESS we have concrete evidence to the contrary.  Further as a Christian, it is wrong to continue to blame OJ like the Goldmans are doing.  Why don't they get on with their life?  What difference does it make it doesn't change what happened.  How can someone like the Goldmans find peace when they have made claims against OJ all this time even if he is found guilty.  Look what they have done with their life, spent all this time in a hate compaign.  Do they honestly believe that when it is all over, one way or another they can be proud of what they did?  And what if OJ is innocent, then how are the Goldmans going to feel about what they have done with their life.  I think Dr. Phil was wrong in his advice and complimenting them to continue to persecute OJ.  He should have advised them to drop it and get on with their life.  After all, if OJ did do it - guess who is in complete misery all the time, OJ. you can be sure of that.  There is a reason why Christian ethic suggests that vengeance is the Lord's and unrighteous judgement is wicked.
With your logic no one should ever be in jail...ever.

Words can not describe

I watched this show and I can't even describe how it made me feel, I tooam a victim of a horrible incident that left our family in complete devastation. My brother was murdered 2 years ago and although they have caught his killer, he was only sentenced to 7 years in prison. He will get out and walk the streets again. I just went to purchase the book "If I did it" and made sure that some of the proceeds do go to the Goldman Foundation. I am so proud of the Goldman family who have constantly  done anything and everything to make O.J.'s life as miserable as they can. We all know deep in our hearts the truth of that horrific evening in Brentwood. I am so sorry for both families.  Keep up your fight!

good for the goldman's

I think it is great that they stay on OJ to get what money he tries to make. He was guilty of this crime and the jury let him go because his lawyers  played race as the reason for him being on trial. The jury looked over the evidence that was presented and aquitted him of the charges. I was horrified when the verdict was read that day. But GOOD for the Goldman's for being persistant to get everything they can get. This mess with what he done in Los Vegas, I hope he gets the rest of his life in prison. At least some justice can come from all that he has done. I went out and bought the book and can't wait to read it. The ones who lose in all this is his children and thank God they are with their mother's family. I hope that Denise can will come around and see the money that could be made for the children. They have to know that their father killed their mother and I pray that they can see what a horrible person he is.

How true it is!!!!!!!!!

Quote From: moshetova

Well thank you so much Jewels!  Thank you and thank you.

You'd like to think with us Jews having suffered the anguish and horror of the Holocaust and Black people having suffered the anguish and horror of slavery, we'd kick it together and have a truly wonderful alliance with one another.  Unfortunately at times in our society now and in the past, this just isn't so.  It doesn't make any sense to me.  Thank you for the respect and words reflecting the horrors of my people, everyone's people to be quite frank with you as Jesus was born a Jew.

And....no Jesus did not get slaughtered and hung upon a cross by Jews contrary to popular belief, we had nothing to do with it, even the bible depicts this; the romans led him to the cross.  So I guess what I'm trying to say is, the torturing and abusive treatment of black people throughout slavery is not acceptable and the fact alone that not only were Jews slaves...we were made into lampshades for crying out loud, fried in ovens, experimented on, torn apart, starved to death, beaten....the horrors goe on and on.  Again, people have to stop with this "it's racism" crap in respect to the O.J. trial and the outcome should he have been proven guilty in the court room.  It's got nothing to do with black or white or purple or pink or whatever.....it's got to do with the fact that had this have been handled appropriately in the courtroom from the get go, had Mark Fuhrman not perjured himself, had others not lied, had evidence not been planted...none of this would have gone down in the way for which it did.  Let's all get our BRAINS into perspective please, let's start from the beginning:

O.J. Drives along with Al in the Bronco as police are in hot pursuit

O.J. has a plane ticket booked to Chicago

(do we really need to say anything else, why would he avoid the cops if he didn't have something to hide)

It's not about COLOUR, it's about JUSTICE...which WAS NOT SERVED.

"It's not about COLOUR, it's about JUSTICE...which WAS NOT SERVED".

Thank you for saying it sooooo well !!

I agree with all of your post but, the end part, is the REAL truth to it !!!!

Like you have put it so well, the Jews really did suffer in the past but WHEN do you hear them play the race card or play the victim role. For most of them, they did turn the page on the past (without forgetting it), moved on, turned it in a positive outlook and assured a future for themselves. However, the black people on the other hand, keep playing the race card at every occasion they get and never seem to be able to move on !!!

I do feel for the Goldman and the Brown families and I do hope that they will be able to reach some kind of closure and peace of mind eventually, if even possible.

To the Goldman and Brown families, I really admire your strength, your determination, and class in handling and dealing with this so difficult and heart breaking hardship.

Lady Tinou.

Bravo jewels!!!!!

Quote From: jewelsf

I'm just wondering about something, this has been on my mind all day. Do you believe that black people have been treated worse than Jewish people throughout history? Before you give an answer, think about how many thousands of years that Jews have been slaves, had there land taken away, and how many millions have been slaughtered. Just because they are Jews! I'm very curious of your opinion on this. I know what mine is!
Very well said. Again, I completely agree wit you !!

Yes, both Blacks and Jews did suffer a lot in the past. However, the Jewish community adopted a very different attitude. There lies a hole different outlook on the world for those two kind of people.

So Very Sorry For Your Loss

There is something about a murder that cannot be put into words.  I have never, THANK GOD, had that happen to anyone in my family, but the thought of it is chilling.

The Goldman family wrote a book, not too long after the trial, HIS NAME IS RON.  I still have it, and re-read the book after seeing the show.  If everyone recalls, during the trial, all reports of the murders, were about Nicole Brown Simpson, and "her friend"...very seldom did Ron Goldman's name appear in the headlines.  It was almost as if he was the second entity.  The book gave him a face, a persona.  It was sad reading, yet very insightful as to how the reporting hurt the Goldmans...almost like Ron was "the other victim', of lesser importance.

I can understand why the Goldmans are fighting so hard...Ron was a human being, equal to Nicole in importance and every much the victim, yet in the media frenzy, more was written about Nicole.  That in and of itself was very painful to his family.  I am sure that Ron himself was not the target, yet he was murdered. A good bit of this acquittal was the result of deplorable police work, contaminated evidence, and witness perjury.  With the primary focus being on Nicole, the lack of justice, I can see where the Goldmans cannot let go...HIS NAME IS RON is a book I would recommend to anyone who wants more insight into what this murder did to that family.  Believe me, without reading "IF I DID IT", the Goldmans' book is by far, more touching and sincere.

I'm sorry for your loss, and equally sorry that you did not get more in the line of justice.  Sometimes the laws don't work, guilty people go free, and the investigaters often make serious errors that literally throw the case.  I feel that is part of why O.J. is a free man.

O.J. DID IT. HE IS GUILTY. THE JURY ACQUITTED HIM FOR REASONS HAVING NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CRIME HE COMMITTED. THEY ACQUITTED HIM BECAUSE THEY COULD. THE WHOLE TRIAL AND VERDICT WAS A TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE. IF WE WAIT FOR THE VENGEANCE OF THE LORD, NO ONE WOULD EVER GO TO JAIL FOR ANYTHING. O.J. SHOULD HAVE BEEN CONVICTED FOR KILLING THOSE PEOPLE ALL THOSE YEARS AGO AND HE SHOULD BE IN JAIL.
