(Original Air Date 12/14/07) Dr. Phil’s guests call their loved ones on the carpet about their unusual behavior. Linda says her dog, Sasha, is more human than canine. She loves to dress Sasha in pearls when company comes and feed the pampered pooch off her fork. Linda’s future daughter-in-law, Jill, says Linda is going overboard with her doggie doting -- especially since Linda wants Sasha to host Jill’s bridal shower! Then, Mary says it’s time for her husband, Eric, to let go of his dream of being a rock star. He’s 50 years old, and she says it’s time for him to get a real job. Eric says she supported his passion for 27 years -- so why is it suddenly abnormal? Next, Amber says she’s concerned about her fiancé, Colin’s, unpredictable mood swings, because one minute he’s the nicest guy in the world, but the next minute he’s flying off the handle. Should she call off the wedding until he gets his temper under control? Plus, a picky eater says she wants to stop being a “food weirdo” and start enjoying meals like a normal person. And, a woman at odds with her husband over the dangerous hobby that left her with a fractured back. Should she pursue her passion even though it terrifies her spouse? Tell us what you think!

Find out what happened on the show.

03/21 Is This Normal?

Quote From: naliniss

For saying the best response so far.

I aso wanted to say that everyone with a pet should really, really, really watch and study the Dog Whisperer. He loves his animals but he does not humanize them....it is just not encouraged because it is not good for the animal. Watch Him!!

I agree with naliniss. Even those without a pet  should check out the Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan. Here's why...

It is fascinating to witness how his "pack-oriented philosophy" can help the pet's owners to realize that they are the source of the problems. By understanding the nature of the dog, i.e. its instinct to belong to a strong, stable, and organized pack following the rules established by the pack leader, the pet's owners learn how to correct their own behavior and to become calm and assertive, the pack leader(s) of their dog. Even the baby can be one of the pack leaders in the family!

So Linda, the real question is: Is Sasha a happy, well balanced, calm, and submissive dog?

Cesar Millan has been called a Dr. Phil for dogs, and for good reason. Cesar's amazing rehabilitations of aggressive, scared, lazy, compulsive, and jealous dogs captured the national spotlight when his National Geographic Channel (NGC) series Dog Whisperer premiered in September 2004. Regular viewers soon came to realize it wasn't the dogs but the quirky owners who needed Cesar's help the most.

Dr.Phil should gather some dog related cases and invite Cesar Millan as an expert. The huge audience will learn something about pets and will give some hope instead of euthanasia to many dog's owners.

We're all weird, but some of the guests are disrespectful

1. Animals are wonderful, but once you have kids, you realize just how NOT human animals are. They lack the souls that God gives us. They should be treated well, they are still not par with human beings. A wife should have more respect for her husband's feelings (and vice versa if the tables were turned). How dare she not give her life partner more human respect and dignity. She should be embarrassed by her actions!

2. There's no excuse for moodiness or losing ones temper. Get control of yourself! Until you can and do, you're just a spoiled child who needs to grow up. Don't waste your time on someone who's acting like a child. Their behavior will only get worse once you're married (and as long as you enable them).

3) Don't try to change people once you marry them. If you accepted their lifestyle choices PRIOR to marriage, you are stuck with those choices after marriages if and until THEY decide they want to give those choices up. How dare you DEMAND that they give up a hobby they had prior to marriage (a hobby YOU  knew about). You can ask them nicely to quit (and tell them how worried you are), but that's about it. You're being unfair in expecting them to change just because you married them.

4) Picky eaters are weird, but most of us have weird habits of one kind or another. Hopefully Dr. Phil can help the guest with HER problem if she truly wants to stop her habit.

SICKENING

When I saw Linda feeding her dog Sasha with her own fork it was sickening. I don't care what she says dogs do lick their butts. I mean I love animals, but I'm not going to share food from my fork with them. Doesn't Linda realize that the dog has  germs. I mean she might as well put the fork in a commode and eat what is in there. Anyway that's up to her, but I hope she doesn't send the wedding invitations with the dogs name on them.

I love My pet very much, I wouldnt call him human but i would consider him part of my family. I wouldnt share my fork or other with him. I excepted the responsibility of a pet, and i take care of him. There are so many strays running the streets. Of ppl that tossed them out.  So dont b so hard on someone that is a little extrem.....thanks ....

is this normal??

I caught this show the second time around today.  Even my 4 year old knows it's "silly" to feed a dog with a fork and give someone a "doggie shower"!! :)

I am a dog lover but, I feel so sorry for the animals people treat like human beings!  I know human beings don't appreciate being treated like animals.  I really love my dog, but she is a pet.  A pet is the perfect definition of "unconditional love."  I think if they could talk, they would ask their owners, "Why are you putting me in these silly clothes?  It's uncomfortable, they're heavy, they're itchy, etc. etc. etc."  Let the animals be animals!  Please don't misunderstand, we talk to our dog like she is human and we believe she understands us.  If she hears hollering in the house, due to an argument or from watching tv, she runs into our bedroom and hides until she thinks it's safe to come out.  She knows how to ask for a treat when she wants one, which is all the time of course.  If she wants to loved, she knows how to ask for that too.  They are smart creatures, but give them a break.

I strongly agree with you one this one I am also an animal lover I have three dogs and also a little cockatiel thank you for letting me read your message

Drummer

This is Eric,  who still wants to be a rock star at 50 yrs old.   Dr. Phil said that I need to get out of the garage,

So I have discovered YouTube and have been busy uploading my style of drumming

to the World Wide Web with a "For Hire" sign.  If you want to see my latest fun with drums, just search Eric Maxwell Drums.

As for Mary, she is currenty pacified as I have found a little part time job
