Topic : 12/25 Parent Trap

 This Women should be brought up on fraud charges.......Seeing her sitting there with a smirk on her face told me that she had no remorse for what she did ...As I see it her daughter should be mad at her Mother more than anyone cause of her deciet....This woman is the one who is at fault for this whole mess and for her to put the blame on her ex husband is just wrong considering she is the one who had the affair ........How dare her come on national T.V and blame her ex for her deciet and fraud......I hope the child will forgive her Father and put the blame on her Mother as because of HER ACTIONS the child is the one suffering......On the other had I think the Father was wrong in how he went about telling the child the truth he should have told the Women that she was the one who needed to tell the child the truth but no she didn't want to look like the bad guy....I can't believe that she expects him to pay for the huge travesty that she did to this Family...Dr Phil I can't believe that you gave Gloria as much time to speak as I feel we needed to hear more from the other Attorney  and to PLUG her book was just wrong.......I watch the show everyday and I usually agree with Dr.Phil but this time it was very one sided with Gloria.....This women defenitly feels very superior to men.....She giives us good Women a bad rap....

I strongly agree with you all, but when it comes to the relationship that the dad and Selena had......  why did he take her to the park at 10 years old to tell her that he wasn't her real dad?  He should have consulted with the mom before lettng an innocent child be so hurt like that.

I do agree. I mean to think this topic was a 1 hour show is saddening. I mean the stories I have heard will make a honest man sick. I cant imagine a man being blessed with the news of a new baby to arrive one day and next day the UNEX{ECTED news that some other man was that childs father. I mean where is Maria's responsibility in this. She is a joke. As god is my wittness there will come a day that she will have to answer to her daughter. It will hit her like a ton of bricks because this child will see how her mother could have prevented all this. How can anyone judge Enrique for how he responded when this wasnt something he had experienced before. The child didnt deserve that but life isnt far and so far I see two people who didnt create this nightmare being the only ones suffering. Way to go Maria you have earned my vote as mother who screwwed up......................

Im only 24 years old and i have 2 children by 2 different guys. I feel that it is a mothers duty to let the guy know if their is a chance that a child may not be the fathers. I have asked myself over and over how a mother could do this to their child. And does the other guy have any idea that it could of been his child? I do not feel that he should have to pay child support for a chid that is not his. do i agree the way that he went about telling the young girl no. But what is he suppost to do? If i was this mother i would feel ashamed of what she did she is the one that could of prevented this all by been truthful. It makes guy want to second thought if they are really the father. And it make women look bad. How can u not have enough guilt to keep a lie like that going? If i would ever do sumthing like this i think that everyday i look at my child and then him i would feel so bad. How can she not? i just dont understand how a mother could do this to their child and to a loved one or ex love one.

Rediculous. No doubt the father didn't handle this the way he should have. But he didn't get to make the choice. What you are arguing is that whether or not the child was his is immaterial. If you had a child and one day someone up and took him or her away and said he or she could have a better life with someone else you would raise hell, and rightfully so... Of course it matters who the parent is! This case just proves the father has no rights---and the man has no rights even if he isn't the father. Enrique should have the choice- right or wrong- on whether or not to keep Selina in his life or to pay or not pay support for her. Your boyfriend knows your kids aren't his... he gets to make that choice. The title of the show is Parent Trap and that is what this is, a trap, set by the mother. Chris will get it sooner or later and then Enrique and Chris can sit and have a beer and commiserate about how evil the mom really is.

 I have a problem with our definition of fatherhood here.  I am a mom that has basically had to provide for my children alone.  My children's "father",if you could call him that, has used his financial resources, after a great deal of manipultion to avoid financial responsibilities, to avoid child support and to demand control and his rights with our children.  There has never been a question of paternity.  He just wants to call the shots and keep his money.  I fail to understand this.  I struggle to provide for my children and to keep up with providing for their needs on a daily basis. Their father lives in another country and only visits twice per year.  He refuses to support my parenting at every turn, yet will not lift a hand to help them.  All of this said, I I found out that my children were not mine due to a mistake at the hospital or something, I would give everything I had to have the privilege of caring for them.  Whether or not they are part of my body, they are part of my heart.  I think that if you asked people who adopted children if they would trade their adopted children for biological children after 10 years, they would chose the children they have loved for 10 years.  As adults. we should just be grateful to have the opportunity to care for the children we know.  This man could have been respectable if he would have decided to stand by this child regardles of a few genetic markers.  Instead, he chose for the money.

I was disgusted to watch this mother sit on the show and shake her head and laugh after what she has done.  Yes, this father went about it all in the wrong way the way he told the child she was not his but he was probably in shock and just didn't know what to do.  It seems that he sees now that he was wrong by doing that, but this MOTHER,if you can call her that.  I can't believe she even has the nerve to ask for support.  He should sue her to pay him back for all the support.  I would be ashamed to take money from him if I was her, or even show my face!

I am a firm believer in God has plans for us that even we don't understand.  I don't believe that the mother was at all right in this but once the act was done what good did the DNA test bring?  I was 10 when I found out that my "Dad" was not my father I wished my mom would have kept that info to her self!  I believe that God places people in your life for certain reasons.
