Like I said To Linda....

Quote From: marcia52

Sometimes I just feel I need to do something or not to do something.  I follow my intuition ...  I may not understand fully what's happening .. but that's okay with me.

I wish that I had MORE of this in my personal life! Not just with my patients!

I saw Oprah today and I'm going to be asking for help in my personal life, in my awareness, in my prayers tonight.

Maybe I can develope that for my own personal life!

It's interesting

Quote From: marcia52

When I was looking for my new home back in 11/97, I felt "good vibes" about this street.  Found 3 houses, called my realtor who told me he couldn't find those houses and gave me another address .. the one I'm living in now.  I actually drove around 1 afternoon, checked out over 20 houses .. and bought this one.

Bought a little red truck the same way. Said I was going to buy one ... then just sat around .. then one day said, today is the day .. and found my truck at the 3rd lot I stopped at.  Blew away Chuck!
Sometimes the feelings of "rightness" all come together at the best of times. I truly think that it's because of our state of mind and the openness we have to certain stimulous. It makes for interesting "coincidences."

Brenda, your upbringing may have taught you to discount or explain away your own self awareness. When I think back on things you have told us, I don't ask why you don't have intuitions on your own behalf. I think, "with the lack of parental involvement and lack of nurturing of your developing self, why would you?" And then, having a twin was probably like having an external sense of self awareness too.

I can't tell you how many times I've envied twins. I always wanted to be so close to somebody else that they knew what I was thinking and feeling without being told.

Once you  make that request to the universe, you become open to recieving it. Then it's up to you to practice it.

I noticed that  many times when I complain about something that I want in my life, it's already there.  I think the same goes with everyone.   If you can feel it in others, then you're probably just living with it as a normal thing .. don't you think?

Whenever I sense I need to work on some aspect of myself .. home ... relationships .. beloveds ... it comes to me quite quickly.  Within hours in some cases.   I simply accept that it's my truth and it happens for me.

AHA moment yesterday for me!

I received  my latest copy of  REDBOOK mag and was reading this article HOW TO SILIENCE YOUR CRITIC and it was fun reading.  Saw my mom and my ex-boss too! Big AHA moment there!  Then when I began to read the KNOW IT ALL CRITIC, I knew it was about me and that once again I was going to fail at ending this behavior.  AND GUESS WHAT??!!!

Some people are simply analytical by nature (that's me to the core) -- and they are sorting thru and presenting all the opintions / data.

I nearly danced the night away. I've been working hard at changing this behavior and it's my core behavior which means I can do differently!  It's not a negative .. I'm not competing .. I'm just doing my natural thing.  Like when I brainstorm off the top of my head when I talk to people (and yes strangers and friends).  Today I suggested that my meat market carry special products once a month and just rotate it. They can post a sign up for us so we can make sure to stop by that week to get whatever special turkey products they have.  I go there for my hot dogs -- They're fresh and cheap!

So I'm okay .. that really makes me feel good about me!  It's what I needed to hear.  AND I tore out only 2 pages before I gave it away. 1 was for goal setting for exercise and there was a chicken recipe I wanted to try.  Cool huh!!  I'm really getting good at doing that.  However, I still not willing to give up my Martha Beck articles out of O .. I've been collecting them for years and years now!!

Hi Everyone; See that you all are busy. As far as me I am truly trying to live in the moment for now which is challenging but it can be done. I also have been reconnecting with my old self. The independent, strong, giving person that I am and that feels good. Also have been doing things that reflect my authentic self; being outgoing and giving back. Now I know what I truly like and would like to move forward with.

Like It would be so nice to have more income w here I could be my own boss. I love the independence of making my own money and doing my own thing. I also love being around people and have been and that lifts my spirit. I also have forgiven my ex and got rid of the bad Karma between us and have forgiven him for the abuse he dished out to me. Also, I love my life right now because I come and go and do what I like without anyone telling me differently and like many wise people say; when one thing doesnt work try something else.

Keep Up the Good Work

This is wonderful news! I'm so happy for you! It takes years off your attitude and demeanor when you reach the place where you find yourself.

It's true that forgiveness has nothing to do with the forgiven one, and it doesn't make what they did OK. It's all about you and giving yourself the permission to let of the emotions that hold you back.

Onwards and upwards!

Your insights are fabulous!

I've been reading in a slightly different vein: The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. It's an amazingly courageous, inspired and moving work by a fascinating and remarkable man.

I highly recommend it. This dying man's book is VERY seriously about LIVING! I never thought that I would be sitting and laughing as I read such a book but that is part of his message, I think.

I'm thinking about where in Australia - could work -

Quote From: ritehere

Since there were a couple of comments about this I thought I would describe the system a little better. It is is not run through any school system here, although some of the courses offered are taught by university professors in their spare time for extra income, or retired professors. The vast majority of classes are taught by regular people who have something to offer to those who want to learn. The classes are not free, there is a charge, but no extra fees except for materials as needed. Classs are set up all over town so the system is available to everybody, teachers and students alike. The teachers have a responiblility to pay for part of the room they rent for the classroom purposes, the administration is responsible for putting out the monthly course offering magazine and maintaining the website and collecting fees. I'm sure there's more to it, but essentially that's it. The classes are very reasonable, some carry a college credit, but most are just for fun. Since we're in Colorado they even offer hiking in the mountains with a group. I have seen tours of the local "haunted" houses at Halloween time also.

I looked for something like this while in Ohio, and when I couldn't find anything thought about starting a free university myself. I think every city should have one.

in Australia it would work best:  It would have to be where University staff could commute to maintain standards.  There's not many haunted houses due to the newness of Australia except for old gaols & hospitals etc. like Grafton.   To do & learn the range of interests held by Australians, much without any connection with the countryside or with a well-organised, commited organisation that the government hasn't set up, in Australia would be at/near Tweed Heads.  This is because it is growing, it is near great natural resources ie. Lamington N.P., not far from Brisbane, a flourishing varied community down south, & a well-resourced area that people would like to work at or commute with.

Sister-cities should run something like this.  Sharing resources in the same way as some schools do.
