(Original Air Date: 11/02/07) Dr. Phil continues his look at a teacher sex scandal that has a school and families divided in a small town in Texas. High school teacher Joelle Ogletree faces accusations of sexual misconduct with some of her male students. Joelle claims she's completely innocent but reluctantly agrees to face Matt, one of her accusers, in person. When Dr. Phil drills down into the details of the case, it's her word against his. Matt maintains that when Joelle was his high school French teacher, she came on to him. He says that as a student he received sexually explicit notes from her, but that the notes were written in code. See the encrypted messages and judge for yourself: Are they provocative or harmless? Then hear how Joelle and Matt interpret them. Plus, Matt agreed to take a polygraph test and have the results reviewed by an independent examiner. Find out what the test reveals and how Matt reacts when he hears them read aloud, as he sits face to face with Joelle. Hear both sides of this gripping sex scandal from the accuser and the accused, and judge for yourself if justice has been served. Share your thoughts, join the discussion.

I choose not to be so graphic but...........

Quote From: justamerican

There have been many times I have screamed at the TV because something that seems so obvious to me never gets discussed.  Those BOYS - 14/15 year old boys are lying!

While not 'proud' to say that I willingly began engaging in sex at 14 (I'm female) - I did so with 5 boys over a period of 3 years. The youngest was 14, the oldest 18.  And guess what? EVERY ONE OF THEM "lost their load" so to speak after just a few strokes of my hand on their penis during the beginning of a relationship.  I finally discovered that I needed to have them masturbate before we 'engaged' in sexual activity.  Otherwise 'nada' for me.

And it's not just 14 year olds either.  I can still tease an eager 25 year old guy to the point that a little 'dry humping' will get the desired results within minutes.

The boy on the telephone today (Thursday 11/1/07) described his encounters with the teacher without ever saying he ejaculated.  I'm sorry, but if she was so 'very sexy and flirtatious" and that boy didn't get his rocks off within seconds of her hand rubbing his penis???  And on three separate occassions no less? Unbelivable.  The mother's of these boys and others like them need to check under their mattresses for the PENTHOUSE FORUM magazines. And tell the boys to notice that 95% of the 'tales' submited are done so by men.

Signed:  Legally Blond - "a straight man would not know that I was wearing last years PRADA shoes"

I choose not to be so graphic but I think you are correct about some of this. Truly, how many young teenage boys can last as long as a 35 year old man? Even a man in his twenties can have problems holding on for very long unless he is experienced. Oh yes, I'm sure that these boys were some real studs, LOL!!!!!!

And you say that I'm insulting?

Quote From: savednow

Nice to know people with "expansive minds" think it is "ok" to insult others.  I am a city girl - born and raised in the city, attended large - major univeristy and a city college (hold a Graduate Degree).  So did my husband.  So small minds are as small minds see - - - - -.  Don't tell me - you are from a small town in hillybilly heaven?

I suffer from migranes, so does my daughter.  I suppose the school district in your area does not send home forms to fill out concerning health problems of (your) children asking what should be done?  Medicine such as is prescribed for migraines should not be carried on a student, but should be available through the SCHOOL NURSE -- or the parent can opt to have school ADMINISTRATION called their doctor (medical clinic) and/or the parent for direction on what to do with an ill student.  Hello - are you still with me?  What the heck!  This is exactly why our schools are in such turmoil and confusion.

If you are the type of woman who would take a teen boy home to get his meds, instead of doing what the school documentations and policies state should be done  then all I can say is I hope to God you are not a teacher, because lady - you are going way beyond your "call to duty"  with our children.

How many small town residents did you just insult with your little comment about "Hillbilly Heaven"? I don't care how many people suggest to me that giving someone under the of age of 18 a ride to pick up med's that are needed at that moment is wrong. I happen to be a caring person who isn't going to worry about it, and I am not going to change and let someone suffer or go without when it's important just to make someone like you happy. You say that I am insulting? I think you should read what you post here before you judge others!

Your  pics are fine. In the case of Mary Kay Laternou,(sp?), she was diagnosed as bi-polar. I'm not totally sure if that's why she was enamoured of Villi, who she is now married to. Because she began teaching him when he was VERY young (elementary school) and he was only 12 or 13, I think when she "fell in love" and became pregnant the first time. That is pedophilic behavior, IMO. Both of my kids had a lot of good teachers during thier school years. There was never a time when I questioned any behavior. In light of what has been going on with teachers and students in the recent past, I would think that any teacher would tend to be very very careful of thier relationship with thier students no matter how innocent it really is. I think a person can be a good teacher and still be very careful to protect themselves from being misunderstood.

Mary Kay was indeed diagnosed as Bi-polar but I don't think that should have anything to do with hooking up with a 12 year old. That is so disgusting I can't even imagine! She was a true pedophile and when the system decided to let her out early she got pregnant again by this youngster. They may be married now but what could they possibly have in common?!

06/13 Teacher Sex Scandal, Part 2

Quote From: csaintsfan2526

Dr. Phil said she took it once and was advised by her Lawyer not to take another. Pay Attention!
Pay Attention? There are others in worse need of that "advice" than I  I pay far better attention than many who post on these boards. Some, I doubt even watch before postingso . And, so, I "missed" that little bit of information? I missed less than others seem to be missing. Especially those, who after this "Teacher Sex Scandal" aired twice still insist that Joelle is guilty. Even after one boy had already recanted and two others failed polygraph examinations given by Dr Phil. The first time this show aired, I began watching expecting Joelle to be guilty, like so many other teachers. But, she was cleared of all the allegations. So, I see no reason to continue considering her guilty of having sex with those boys.

06/13 Teacher Sex Scandal, Part 2

Quote From: sherhall

I was also expecting more emotion from the teacher.  Defending ones position strongly and with conviction by asking the students hard questions and demanding answers when i know that I am innocent does not make someone a drama queen.  If I was accused of such an act and it had such an impact on my career and family I would have been eager to confront those boys and ask them very direct and hard questions and doing that does not mean I am a "drama queen".
By "drama queen" I don't mean being confrontational and asking direct, incisive questions. I mean Sheri-Lynn's histrionics that seemed almost scripted.

06/13 Teacher Sex Scandal, Part 2

Quote From: cdd248

I agree, her explanation of what SIWYWJFM meant was just too far out there - not believable. A teacher would NOT be writing in code if she's stating something innocent. She obviously meant suggestive phrases or she wouldn't be giving coded messages to boy students. Did she give any coded messages to any girl students? If not, why not? No friendly interaction with girls? This is totally suspicious.

And I agree also that her having been a high school student who was carrying on with her own teacher shows some disfunction in her judgment. She probably misses the excitement of high school secrets and seduction between teacher and student.

I also think she lost credibility by refusing to take the polygraph with Dr. Phil's expert. Anyone who is innocent would say give me as many polygraphs as you want. Plus she didn't really deny any of the incidents. She just countered with previous testimony -- which when taken out of context may appear to suggest something different than was meant.

All we know is that she married her high school teacher. Which doesn't  necessarily mean that  was "carrying on" with him while still in high school. Their relationship could have began after she graduated.
As for denying the incidents, did you watch the show? She denied everything. If it was previous testimony, so what?
And, she was advised by her lawyer not to take the polygraph.

06/13 Teacher Sex Scandal, Part 2

Quote From: sharonmn

Yes we do know the answer to all these questions.  They can be found in the transcrips of both the criminal trial and the school licensing board hearing.  She began dating her former teacher AFTER graduating High School.  She had a long term steady boyfriend throughout high school and after until they were going their seperate ways to colleges in different parts of the country.  This information was brought out in court by the prosecution.  If there were any inpropriety the school would not have employed both Mr & Mrs. Ogletree.
Since Joelle didn't marry her teacher until after she graduated, it's got no relevance to Matt's false allegations. Why do I think he's making such an issue of it? Jealousy!
