Do you make outrageous snap judgments? Can you really tell if a person is rich, poor, smart or even lazy just by the way he or she looks? Dr. Phil's guests -- and audience members -- think they've got people figured out based on first impressions and appearances. Dr. Phil begins by using his own audience to demonstrate how people judge others based on their appearances … and you won't believe the result! Then, Dr. Phil introduces six opinionated people with extreme points of view. First up is Shirley, who looks like a soccer mom, though on video she admits to being a man-hater, calling men idiots and creeps, and saying they only think from below the waist. Next, Dr. Phil approaches Dick, who's wearing sunglasses. He admits to being a chauvinist and says women are whores, and the only thing they are good for is having kids. Another woman, Kimberly, is so morally righteous that she believes her way is the right way, and if you don't agree with her, she'll throw the Bible in your face and give you a one way ticket to hell! Next, meet Jason who is anti-society and has a laundry list of judgments, including the belief that 90 percent of people are idiots and mindless sheep. Then, Erin, admits to being a racist ... against her own race!  She won't let her children socialize with other African-American kids, and she says she's ashamed of black people. Finally meet Crystal, who admits to judging people all day long and says pretty people should only hang out with other pretty people. At the end of the show, Dr. Phil surprises these six guests by sending them to The Dr. Phil House. After finding out who their roommates will be, will they still decide to move in? Follow this series to see if these judgmental men and women will survive living under one roof as their staunch beliefs get put to the test. Talk about the show here.

The last woman

I haven't seen the show yet, just read the synopsis.  I can see this is going to be an emotionally-charged episode.

One thing, though.  The lady at the end, who only likes pretty people - did anyone else think she looked masculine?  Her face is not very feminine.  She reminds me of a man who has had gender reassignment surgery to become a woman.

11/06 Introducing the House of Judgment

Quote From: rinata

Those self-righteous bible thumping people drive me nuts!! My son's wife is like that, and we just don't get along.

I am looking forward to seeing how Dr. Phil handles a situation like that. I sure need some tips. You can be sure I'll not miss this show!! Even if I'm not home though, I record it. I've learned so much from the good doc. Love ya, Dr. Phil!!

Are you kidding me! Those Bible thumping people! My only answer is I pray you daughter in law forgives you for being so ignorant. I forgive you for lumping up all us bible thumpers as bad people. Talk about judging people. Is it so bad to walk the path that God laid out for you. Is it so bad to raise you kids to be loving and forgiving of all people no matter what. Do you have any idea how hard it is to tell your kids not to listen to what the kids say about them at school and to turn the other cheek. To tell them not to judge a kid becaus ehe wears the same pants or shirt everyday. To forgive a kid that is being just plain nasty to you because he may not have someone at home that cares for him or teaches him how to act. You have on blinders that don't let you see the big picture. I pray everyday that God give me the help me to be a good wife and mom and to be forgiving to others. Instead of you hating your daughter in law so much why don't you try to understand her. Try to see what she sees and feels. I may be a bible thumper but I am proud of it. I pray my kids are!

house of judgement

For the Christian woman. Ok so she apparently studied some of the bible but not once could she say where it is. Walking in Love is one of the ways to stop saitin attacking you. This woman was so busy judging but not once did she say anything to those people she talked to about walking in love. Try Deut 10:12, John 13:34, Ephesians 4:1,2, 1John 4:7,8 or Grace and faith.
See my thing is we are all going to have to answer to whatever we choose to do. Why not leave everyone else alone.  I am sick of pregiduice people. There are good and bad in all off us.

However, I beleive that we are to share the truth of Christ but we are not supposed to throw it in peoples faces. We are to give grace, faith, and show kindness to others. See my thing is we are all going to have to answer to whatever we choose to do. Why not leave everyone else alone.  I am sick of pregiduice people. There are good and bad in all off us. The point is let us do what we is right and leave it at that.

Miss Judgemental

The "opinionated" woman on the show look the Lord's name in vain. She said "Oh my God!" after Dr. Phil said it was her sister who told them everything. That is the one of the ten commandments. She is judging others for not obeying God's law when she is not doing it either. We are all sinners and no one is perfect. Christians believe that we must repent for our sins, not that we are NOT sinners.

Wow

I can't tell you how disturbing this show was to me.  My parents held several of these same attitudes the people on the show today have.  Especially the "bitchy" woman who found fault in everyone.  I do have to say what goes around comes around.  My father would make fun of handicap people.  He has since died of ALS which left him very handicapped and wheelchair bound.  I have always found the situation very ironic and sad.  The situation definitely put everyone back in their place.  It was embarassing growing up in a family like this.

House members extreme but accurate

I largely agreed with all the people seen on the Dr. Phil house of judgment show today. Their opinions were extreme because they generalized them to all members of the group they hate, but (almost) each person had a valid point in their judgments. "Dick" was very accurate in that a lot of women are money-grubbing and gold-digging, but that is also a trait very prevalent to men. In actuality it is a trait common to a very large percentage of the US population. The guy who hates everyone was very right about that point; commercialism and the almighty dollar have broken down the moral fiber of our society. The black girl who hates her own race was right, though generalizing to an extreme. A large percentage of low income black people are gang-banging, welfare-abusing, drug-using wastes of space, but there are also others who do not follow that stereotype. The lady who hated men was the most right-on of the group, although maybe she was a bit excessive in how bad men are. Even my husband is thoughtless and inconsiderate of anyone else but himself, but he has his good points and so do other men. That doesn't make the man-hater any less correct in her observations. I thought it quite fitting that the bible-thumper and the (ugly)ugly-hater be put together as well, because they had the least valid points of all (with the former being a huge hypocrite and the latter obviously projecting her hate of her own looks onto all other ugly people). The first House of Hate seemed to change the inhabitants opinions, but I hope that this House of Judgment only succeeds in muting the opinions of the house members, because to change these accurate observations of the statistically significant sections of our society would be a huge mistake.

11/06 Introducing the House of Judgment

I have not seen the show yet, so I'm not going to make any observations of the guests just yet. But I will say this....

Already, there seems to be a debate/discussion on this board about God, religion & "bible thumping". I'm not a religious person, more spiritual actually, And I guess you could say I'm more liberal, with a pinch of conservatism, but I feel the need to say this.... Someone's religion, ANY kind of religion, is a PERSONAL CHOICE & should NOT be forced upon someone else. What may be/feel right to you (generally speaking), may not be/feel right to someone else. Therefore, I don't think anyone has the right say, "well if someone does this & that or lives a certain way, then that person(s) is going to hell", or that if a certain person "could just find it in their heart to find God, then they will be alright". I for one, find it very frustrating when someone is trying to, in a sense, "save me" because I truly do not believe that I need "saving" (and if I felt I did, I would ASK for help) & I'm really not trying to offend anyone, but I cringe whenever a Jehovah's Witness comes to my door because I feel that is forcing it. Who is anyone to say what is right & wrong for someone else, especially if they have no specific or personal ties to you? And even if they did have ties to you, it would still be THEIR PERSONAL choice(s). One doesn't have to like/agree with another person's religion or way of life, but we should RESPECT that person(s) as HUMAN BEINGS.

11/06 Introducing the House of Judgment

Regarding the bible thumper woman....
I am a Christian, my husband is a street evangelist and we are both very well studied in the Bible.
Many of the things that woman is claiming will send you to hell are not in the Bible - drinking (getting drunk is a whole other subject), smoking, piercings (not against God at all). We are all sinners - even her, but that does not automatically condem us to hell. She has sinned, but she says she is not going to hell...but when she sees others sinning she says they are automatically going to hell - she couldn't be more wrong. We are forgiven by the blood of Christ and no matter what sin we are guilty of - if we accept this forgiveness and repent then our sins are washed away and we will not go to hell. Period in the subject. Even murders and alduterers and all those she condems....if they repent and follow Christ - then they too will be in heaven. The Bible says that whatever standards we use to judge others - then God will hold us to those standards. She has some high (impossible) standards...
None of us are God so we have no right to say who is going to hell and who isn't - we have no right to judge and condem because we are all guilty too.
I can only hope she reads this and does some serious self examination as well as study the word that she claims to be preaching (but isn't).
