Do you make outrageous snap judgments? Can you really tell if a person is rich, poor, smart or even lazy just by the way he or she looks? Dr. Phil's guests -- and audience members -- think they've got people figured out based on first impressions and appearances. Dr. Phil begins by using his own audience to demonstrate how people judge others based on their appearances … and you won't believe the result! Then, Dr. Phil introduces six opinionated people with extreme points of view. First up is Shirley, who looks like a soccer mom, though on video she admits to being a man-hater, calling men idiots and creeps, and saying they only think from below the waist. Next, Dr. Phil approaches Dick, who's wearing sunglasses. He admits to being a chauvinist and says women are whores, and the only thing they are good for is having kids. Another woman, Kimberly, is so morally righteous that she believes her way is the right way, and if you don't agree with her, she'll throw the Bible in your face and give you a one way ticket to hell! Next, meet Jason who is anti-society and has a laundry list of judgments, including the belief that 90 percent of people are idiots and mindless sheep. Then, Erin, admits to being a racist ... against her own race!  She won't let her children socialize with other African-American kids, and she says she's ashamed of black people. Finally meet Crystal, who admits to judging people all day long and says pretty people should only hang out with other pretty people. At the end of the show, Dr. Phil surprises these six guests by sending them to The Dr. Phil House. After finding out who their roommates will be, will they still decide to move in? Follow this series to see if these judgmental men and women will survive living under one roof as their staunch beliefs get put to the test. Talk about the show here.

for the so called "christian"

I was appalled at Kimberly and her attitude. I am a christian and know that everyone sins. The exception is that if we are born again we are forgiven those sins. Besides, for someone that supposedly reads her Bible, Kimberly had no problem breaking one of the ten commandments in front of the entire country by using the Lord's name in vain. Let ye without sin cast the first stone. Opinionated or not, the way to lead people to the lord is not by condemning them. The first step is to lead by example.

                                                                                                                          Thank you,

                                                                                                                           Tammy

11/06 Introducing the House of Judgment

Quote From: rissa140

I have not seen the show yet, so I'm not going to make any observations of the guests just yet. But I will say this....

Already, there seems to be a debate/discussion on this board about God, religion & "bible thumping". I'm not a religious person, more spiritual actually, And I guess you could say I'm more liberal, with a pinch of conservatism, but I feel the need to say this.... Someone's religion, ANY kind of religion, is a PERSONAL CHOICE & should NOT be forced upon someone else. What may be/feel right to you (generally speaking), may not be/feel right to someone else. Therefore, I don't think anyone has the right say, "well if someone does this & that or lives a certain way, then that person(s) is going to hell", or that if a certain person "could just find it in their heart to find God, then they will be alright". I for one, find it very frustrating when someone is trying to, in a sense, "save me" because I truly do not believe that I need "saving" (and if I felt I did, I would ASK for help) & I'm really not trying to offend anyone, but I cringe whenever a Jehovah's Witness comes to my door because I feel that is forcing it. Who is anyone to say what is right & wrong for someone else, especially if they have no specific or personal ties to you? And even if they did have ties to you, it would still be THEIR PERSONAL choice(s). One doesn't have to like/agree with another person's religion or way of life, but we should RESPECT that person(s) as HUMAN BEINGS.

You are right - no one should force their beliefs on others.
However - simply telling someone what you believe is not forcing it on others - otherwise you would be doing the exact same thing by simply telling this bord what you believe. Your example of a Jehovahs Witness coming to your door - they would only be forcing it if they held a gun to you and told you to convert or die. When they come to your door - usually they are polite and simply tell you what they believe and nicely invite you to read about their beliefs or come to their church or whatever. There is no force there.
When someone tells another what they believe and ask that person if they want to believe the same thing - it is not forcing religion - it is simply sharing beliefs with others.
Forcing religion or beliefs is wrong - but telling others about them and offering them that choice is no more wrong than you posting your beliefs about religion here.

Christian

Quote From: lilmrsg74

There are some passages in the Bible that speak about wine and tatoos. As far as smoking no but, ! Corinthian 3:16-17 states that "We our selves are god temple and that Gods spirit lives in us. If any destroy God's temple heill destroy him. For God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple."  So we shpuld not do anything that we know is dab for us and will make us sick. I see the verse saying god loves us and wants us to treat our selves as we treat him. We are made like him so would we want him to smoke or drink. We want him to be strong so why not us.

I'm not the best christian, I can remember every little line and where I could find it. I don't read the bible daily, week, or even monthly. I do try and read it alot but I am very busy and go months without picking it up. But I'm pretty sure, Drinking a glass of wine with dinner and having a few tattooes doesn't weaken the body. I'm not weak I have a tattoo and plan to get more. I drink wine and beer for dinners a couple of times a month. I wouldn't mind if that is what god did or does. However smoking is unhealthy, but pretty sure that isn't going to get you a ticket right into hell, Over drinking is unhealthy too, but as you may know having a glass of wine isn't unhealthy even having beer isn't unhealthy, not even shots of hard alcohol, only when its done in large amounts is it unhealthy but still I don't think that gets you a one way ticket to hell. If a person wish to engage in this then its there right, who is anyone else to claim they are going to hell or they are horrible people. I know I sin, I try my best not to but I am only human and I do try my best and I do ask for forgiveness when i have been weak. I dont sit here and think I have all the answers and I don't tell others how they should live, its there choice and if its wrong then they will be the one to deal with god. Its not my place or anyone elses to tell others what they can and can not do.  JMO

pure disgust!

Let me tell you, the more of this show i see the more i feel my blood boil!!!

Firstly, the woman-hater....that man needs a serious wake up call. Without a woman he would not be here! and thats not just referring to his mother! Women do so much these days especially in the medical field. There is a very high chance that without all the research and work done by women he wouldve died as a young baby!

For the lady who thinks its okay to tell people theyre going to hell...who gave her the right to play God? honestly these people have too much time on their hands  and quite honestly are not secure enough in their own existance.  The woman-hater obviously feels threatened enough by women to feel the need to put them down so he looks better. Im truly sorry for these people who judge so many.  Not only are they lacking self confidence but theyre seriously overlooking what America is all about.  We are a melting pot, we are all different! Not one of us has the right to do that to one another!

The lady who hates ugly people...come on now! Are we two? She feels the need to call other trashy when in the video clip shes wearing a spaghetti strap tanktop and letting her chest hang out! if thats not the definition of trashy then im not sure what is.  Not to mention she is not the most beautiful person Ive ever seen.

Everybody has a different definition of beauty.  My definition is that beauty comes from the inside not the outside.

My heart hurts that these people have to be so cruel...

Only the uneducated judge, so its quite obvious that the world still needs to be educated on life, beauty and uniquness and im glad Dr. Phil is trying to play his part.

Wake Up Call Needed

All I can say is that I hope Dr. Phil has a wake up call in store for those people.

11/06 Introducing the House of Judgment

To be honest, I was disapointed with this episode. There was a lot of mean spiritedness, not just from the guests but from the audience as well. The only person I enjoyed hearing from was the preacher who spoke of not being too judgemental.

Crystal states she hates ugly people. If that's the case, I'm not sure what she's looking at when she looks in the mirror. That nose of hers could be used as an umbrella!
I completely agree. This girl obviously attacks people before they can attack her, because not even putting her under a microscope she doesn't look very good, with the nose, lips and oddly shaped body. She's painfully self conscious. The saying that people put others down to make themselves happy completely applies with this girl. If she was happy with her self she wouldn't be so concerned with what other people looked like. She's obsessively looking for someone who looks worse than her.People who are that angry are pathetic. It must be exhausting.

show feedback

This is to the girl who loves to insult people that she thinks are less attractive than her.  You have a really distorted view of yourself when you look in the mirror.  Because you are not at all attractive.  You have a huge, up-turned nose, crooked teeth and a horrible figure.  Get some help.

To the guy who thinks most people are mindless sheep.  Did you know that you too are mimicking a particular style of dress?  The skinheads and goths.  The mohawk, earrings, tatoos, black clothes are all examples of the style of dress that is associated with the haters of the world like you.

The Girl that HAtes Ugly People Isn't so Cute Herself!

The girl that hates "ugly" people isn't exactly perfect herself!  She is short and dumpy.  She is a bit overweight and has a terrible figure with no waistline at all.  She has rather odd hair that looks like a wig!  She kept doing this strage "flip" thing with that hair, too.  I wonder if she knows the truth about how SHE looks?? How dare her not want to associate with so-called ugly people, she is just an average looking girl herself!  Besides all of that....she needs to realize that what a person looks like doesn't make the person good or bad----it's a person's heart that counts!

About Crystal

I cannot stop laughing at that idiot....whats going to be funny is when something happens to her where she is messed up so bad...I have seen beautiful people who have been burned in the face, have been in accidents and they live the rest of their life scarred beyond recognition...what would she do??? I wouldn't want anything like that to happen to her...but it could....I used to wiegh over 250 lbs....I lost the wieght and I never make fun or put people down for their weight....I have also been skinny, down to 80 lbs., now I understand why some people are that way....oh...I used to be beautiful too!
