Topic : 11/09 Debate Dr. Phil and the Bishop

You know it is kinda rediculous that everyone is comparing Don Imus's and Mel Gibson's situation to Dawg's.  Dawg had a private conversation with his son.  If anyone should be called to task, it should be his son for an illegal wire tap.  I do not agree, nor do I condone what Dawg said, but I, as a disabled veteran, fought for his right to feel the way he does.  Just as you have your right to feel the way you do.  No I don't think his show should have been pulled. 

I don't blame Dawg for not coming on your show, which was so obviously stacked with "black" activists, against him.  Why should he subject himself to such biased ridicule.  And you know as well as I that is exactly what this whole show was all about-to ridicule the Dawg for having a private conversation with his son, who didn't have the common decency to respect his own father enough to discuss the situation man to man. 

You go girl.  I totaly agree. Get over it already.

Come on people!  The n word has a loooooong nasty history in this country.  It has been used to refer to Blacks as less than human.  (Remember 3/5 of a human that was actually written into law??)  Whites don't have a history of being called something with such hate and supremacy!  If you can't see that, you don't understand the very basics of race relations in this country!

It's not the same when a Black person uses the n word. Black folk are known for taking a negative and turning it into a positive. All oppressed people do it. When Black folk use the n word, it's a term of endearment. When whites use it, it's hate and racism. That is the history of the word. Whites will never be able to use that word in the same way as Blacks. You just aren't so get over it.

When Blacks called whites a name, it's not racist because racism is racial prejudice plus power. Blacks don't have the power.  It might be prejudice but the power aspect isn't there. Therefore, it's not racist. I urge every one to read some good books about race relations.  (whitewashing race, the great wells of democracy, white like me, american apartheid, another day at the front) to name just a few!!  Read Tim Wise's articles! That's who Phil should have had on the show.

I have a question for people out there? Does anybody read their history books?..who was the first to have black slaves...if u said a white man...u did not read your history...it was a black man..and he traded or sold his slaves to a white man later on.  Yes...and who freed the slaves? not a black man...it was a white man..should I say his name. Read your history. 

I am a woman from Louisiana ...not proud of it sometimes...especially since the Jena 6 has been going on.  This is all we are hearing down here.  Racist this ...racist that...its not JUST white people who r racist...our blacks r too down here.  I have worked with several black women and men...I have worked with the hispanic culture too...we all work together.  Dog was having a private conversation on the phone with his son Tucker.  Honestly...I think Tucker has issues with his dad cause his dad would not bail him out.  But does anynoe remember the ephoside where Dog went after the guy that set Tucker up? I did...I think it was totally wrong that Tucker did this...but also...Dog was taped...and now all america is throwing a fit cause he said the "n" word.  Where I work...no one...and I mean NO ONE can call anyone any names or u r fired..which i believe is fair.  There was a big issue with one black boy calling another black boy the 'n" word...it was heard and both were let go.  My sister dates only black men and my nephew is part black.  I have black friends and most of them have been most of my life.  I am tired of all the damn whining.  I m tired of hearing about the Jena 6.  Where I live....Im about 45 min from there and still..somehow...it turns its ugly little headour way...and starts up more things going on.  Yes  there were nooses hung from a tree...and it was soooooooooooooo wrong for them to do that.  But the Jena 6 beat a boy to almost a bloody pulp...that is a crime.  U can't beat the hell out of someone and get away with it...that boy they beat up didn't even have anything to do with the nooses in the first place.  I think it is wrong how the principal handled the situation in the first place with the nooses.  If we all want to make a differance.....start with love thy neighbor....so..our neighber could be white ,black hispanic indaian muslam   , come on...and  to the ones who call each other the "n" word....what r u proving to your children? our children r our future...They will be running this country...when we are old...which right now...scares the hell out of me.  There is racism on both side...blacks and whites...

Dog deserves another chance...he has done good...I know alot of bounty hunters...grew up with law enforcement in my family....and they do and did not show the respect to a bail jumper like Dog does.  Give him a break...he made a mistake...he's not perfect....just like us....he is HUMAN...we all belong to one race....The HUMAN Race...get with it people...drop all this damn racism...my grandchildren gotta grow up in this mess?...

Its not just religous "freaks" who r racist....racist comes in ALL colors ...maybe thats what is wrong with our Nation....people who don't believe in anything..want to make it hard for those who have a religion...and believe in something.  Our nation is falling apart...what r we going to do? Let our children deal with this when they grow up...they grew up listiening to all this crap going on....don't u think they will be bitter...and hatred going on...pointing fingers at other races? omg...wake up...we need to come together...or our future is in big trouble.

I can understand  that race is an issue lately with the dissmissal of  famous people  from there jobs or how people play the race card when some one thinks they get unfair treatment. I am a property manager for a property  in florida I have had people accuse me of charging them a late fee because they were black or I am some white chick wanting extra money and that I HAVE TREATED THEM UNFAIRLY. My job My home has been threatened because I dont belong to the local church. I know how all of you feel as a person who is part Native American I have seen the abused by other people I have been taunted when I was in school. I have been spit on, I have been beat up, I have seen others beaten. I have been denied a job because of my race, I have been misstreated at work and called nasty Indian,that I don't know better. and why do I dare have the gaul to be alive and that I should of Died like the ones who died before me.

It is so sad that a people with a very rich culture be pushed to the back and not reconised by there own community. We do not even have a month to celebrate our heratage. There is black heritage month There is hispanic heritage month. In the history books we look like evil savages people who eat dirt and who kill and don't know better.  I have been ther seen that and I know what it is like. I would like to see all Native american also be reconised and see these proud people for who they truely are. The True First Americans.

THAT is so WRONG , how are you gonna put the NAACP out there like that , you must be e pretty good racist person yourself, every African American is not judgemental, you ARE A SICK PERson , ima african american and i am offended say somethin bout that , i love every race, you just gotta think before you say every colored person says names about ya'll.........  you need a life

We need to worry about how to not hate each other in general, notjust the words asscoiated with the subject. So someone said a word, big deal. We all say words all the time, some we don't mean, and we apologize if it gets to bad. We don't get plastered on the television for what we say, becasue we aren't famous...

And the day will come when nooses will be an "inapproate halloween decoration" because it's a racist symbol. In case you didn't know, hanging was the perferd method of execution for prety much everybody back in the day. Pirates, witches, prisoners of war, criminals, ect...so nooses aren't just asscoiated with blacks. There I said it! What, no one is saying the gas chamber for executing criminals is anti-semetic?
