(Original Air Date: 11/15/07) Dr. Phil continues the story of a young woman who made international headlines when she ran away to Palestine to be with a man she met on the Internet when she was just 16. Katherine was stopped by the FBI and brought back home, but two years later and now an adult, she’s left the United States again to be with Abdullah, the man she says she loves and wants to marry. Katherine’s terrified family thinks she is being brainwashed, and may never be allowed to return home. They say they’ve witnessed Abdullah’s violent temper when he’s verbally abused her over the phone. Now, in an exclusive interview via satellite, Dr. Phil speaks with Katherine and Abdullah together. Is Abdullah lying about letting Katherine return home? Is this couple already married? Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

A small detail

Dr. Phil you and your producers should know better: There is NO SUCH PLACE AS PALESTINE!!!  It is either Gaza Strip or West Bank.  Those who refer to the area(s) as "Palestine" are referring to ISRAEL!  Your people should be more thorough with their research!

A DAUGHTER IN DANGER? PART 2

Quote From: anniekc

I met my husband on ther internet and he is from Paksitan. But I also didn't rush and meet him with in months. It took me 3 1/2 years before i agreed and went to paksitan to marry him. It is hard because we have two seperate cultures but i love him so much. This girl and everyone should wait and see because it might be just a crush. I took my time and tested him too

I am having a very hard time believing anything this abdullah person is saying in so far as allowing this young lady come home on friday.  I have digressed, let me address the subject I understand that you met your husband on the interne after talking to him on the internet for only 2 months .  Also, have you been back to the United States since you left?  My fear is  that he won't allow her to return.

A DAUGHTER IN DANGER? PART 2

DR. PHIL I DON'T THINK THIS ABDULLAH PERSON WILL ALLOW KATHERINE TO RETURN TO THIS COUNTRY  AND HER FAMILY.  HE WILL HOLD HER HOSTAGE UNTIL SHE PRODUCES A CHILD AND IF IT IS A BOY HE MAY ALLOW HER TO COME HOME THEN, BUT IF IT IS A GIRL SHE WILL BE HELD THERE UNTIL SUCH TIME AS A SON IS PRODUCED IF EVER.  HE WILL ALSO HAVE HIS OTHER OUTSIDE INTERESTS.  THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY, IS I HOPE SHE DOES NOT GIVE UP HER AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP.  I UNDERSTAND SHE IS NOT MUSLIM AT THIS TIME AND I HOPE IN THE FUTURE SHE DOESN'T CONVERT, BECAUSE THIS WOULD BE A VERY BAD MOVE ON HER PART.

06/17 A Daughter in Danger? Part 2

Quote From: dedndogyrs

Every woman thinking of having a relationship with a man in the Middle East should know that as soon as she marries him there, or marries him and then goes there, her passport will be immediately confiscated and she will be a prisoner in that country.  There have been women lied to by men from the Middle East that they would be going to an air conditioned mansion with servants and it turned out to be a dump full of his relatives and she is stuck there. Some of these countries don't even have an American embassy because the U.S. doesn't have diplomatic relations with them.  I don't know what the situation is for those women reading this who are in Canada, Australia, N.Z. etc., but their passports will be confiscated too.

everything you said about passports is false.  Why would you spread these rumours when you have no facts at all?  When anyone from the US, Canada, Australia or New Zealand marries someone from the Middle East they are absolutley NOT prisoners and have more freedoms to travel back and forth between the countries than before.

No ones passports will be confiscated, however you can amend them or get new one's to include your initial citizenship as well as your new middle eastern citizenship.

Don't believe the racist, uninformed comments all over this board...basically if it sounds too stupid to be true it probably is.  This is one of the false ones.

WHERE'S THE UPDATE?

I know there will always be reruns, but why can't the show at least give a short update on the guest? It wouldn't be much trouble for them to make a phone call to the guest just to see what's happened since the show.  What does Katherine think of Abdullah now? What is she doing with her life? etc. Come on, Dr. Phil. What's going on?

06/17 A Daughter in Danger? Part 2

a. Psychologists are not real doctors.
b. You have no right getting involved in Katherine and Abdullah's business. If there really was a problem don't you think that Katherine would have stayed here when she came to visit her parents? It's not that hard for her to hide from him, as you have just proved by bringing Betty onto the show...you said that she had been hiding for 30 years. (btw, if she's still in hiding do you think it's a smart idea for her to be on TV especially now that your show is in the limelight of Middle Eastern TV because of the Katherine ordeal)
c. By continually bringing these FALSE stories up, you are making yourself look bad as well as making Muslim people look bad. You know just as well as I do that Americans are very ignorant and impressionable. (Don't get me wrong, I love America, I've lived here all my life and have never even BEEN out of the country). You know that Americans take these kinds of stories to heart and know that you are giving Muslims a bad name. I do not appreciate this and am POSITIVE that there are MANY people around the US and the World that also do not appreciate this.

Interesting

I think its strange that  on  the show they continously say he is living in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Those are two very different places both politically and geographically. I wondered if anyone else noticed that?
It would certainly make a difference as far as the level of danger she is in, and how easy it would be to remove her from the situation.

A daughter in danger part 2

I do feel for the mother But she is of age and she is now over

in the country let her go.

You can do a thing but let her go and be their if and when she will come back hope that she docent have a child with him as it will be worse in the end.

And if she dose then and only then it will be worse on her and that baby.

And no man has the right to call her a bitch no man has that right.

But again she is 18 and just wait until she gets pg then it will be a nightmare.

And Dr Phil you cant do a thing either but guess one will tell.

06/17 A Daughter in Danger? Part 2

Quote From: moodymitzy

i do not fear them but I do not trust any of them. Even the ones that claim to be peaceful I do not trust. They are raised believing that women are inferior to men. It is not against the law there to beat your wife. They beleive American women to be whores, sluts, and bitches. If I were to go into any yahoo chat room I would be constantly getting messages from middle eastern men want me to do dirty things on the web cam. To them that is all American women do. Muslims want to dominate the world starting with Europe. Many of the muslims that here in America hate it here and everyone that is not like them. They are the ones that can preach against Christians, Jews, and the president, but if a Christian said anything about their religion they would claim racism. Muslims are the ones that I am almost totally prejudice against. I believe they want to kill anyone who is not like them. I have yet to meet one Muslim who believes otherwise. If I ever do I might change my opinion about them but until then this is what I believe.

This is so funny...i took out all your Muslim references and replaced them with American one's and it describes how the rest of the world sees the USA...

Eerie how accurate this is to what Americans are like isn't it?  I suspect this post will never be seen because no one is allowed to say anything against Americans here...only other cultures.  btw I am neither American or Muslim but the racism and bigotry on this board disgusts me (doesn't surprise me sadly but it does disgust me)
