    You are so right. its sad really. This little girl (Katherine) had a narrow escape from a very bad life. Lets hope shes learned a lesson. I wish her well.

Your message is off topic and ill timed.  Find another outlet for your criticism of the United States.  We are a GREAT country.  We may not be perfect but we are a nation of wonderful people who value life, liberty and "knowledge". 

 

What I know is that Abdullah is an abusive person who has NO RIGHT to treat Katherine in such a manner.  She, being a United States Citizen, has the right to live without being verbally and physically abused.  PERIOD.  The glory of our country is that she can walk away and never look back.  She can choose to live a life that is free from abuse, persecution and gender bias.

I totally agree, there are bad apples everywhere.  Just because someone says something on the internet doesn't make it true.  Everything you hear about in chat rooms and the like should digested with a grain of salt...

I think that Katherine should be with her family here in the USA and she should stay away from that man she met on My Space and she needs to leave him alone forever. And also, I would like to talk to Katherine woman to woman so that will talk to her like sisters.

This is what went through my  mind the other day as I watched the first segment of this show. I thought to myself that we Americans just aren't good enough for her (and many other women) so she goes overseas to find her "Romeo"; now she's got her just desserts for doing so.

It was good to hear Dr. Phil say the words that were (already) in my head. I hope he doesn't get alot of hate mail from the Democrats.

Yes, it was (is) sad to see how she was treated; perhaps other women will realize that although it may sound "cool" to go to some "exotic place" thinking they are too good for the guy next door ... it "ain't"! My little  sister married her "Senior" from Meheeeco. Now we hardly ever see her; her house has "casa" signs all over it; it is sickening and disgusting.

I can't believe Dr. Phil's response when Abdullah walked off upon being told the relationship was over.  Dr. Phil said, "That's mature."  But what is he supposed to do?  Continue to be humiliated? 

 

I'm not standing up for him or what he has done, but Dr. Phil had a bias coming through loud and clear.

I found it kinda strange that when Katherine's mom and Abdullah were talking about the money there was a bit of confusion. It seemed like maybe Katherine's family might have taken money from Abdullah's family before. Like maybe her family knew something about Abdullah's family and they were making it so that he had to send them money or else. Like Katherine's sister said she thought her little sister was looking for a way to be able to not have to attend school and not have to work.

this guy is middle eastern; not american.  the culture in the middle east dictates that the woman is submissive to the man; the woman is not worth anything; a goat is more valuable.

 

these american women who think they can change a middle eastern guy is in for one big surprise; maybe costing their lives.

 

do not ever leave the protection of the united states to go romancing some guy in the middle east.  this cannot be stressed strong enuff . . . . .

 This is the dumbest girl I've ever seen.  I lost sympathy for her the first time.  She needs to grow up on her own.  Her family can only do so much for her.  If she goes back AGAIN, they should let her live with that decision.
