(Original Air Date: 11/29/07) Obesity is a huge problem for adults in this country, but now it’s becoming an epidemic among young children. Barbra says her 3-year-old daughter started gaining weight at six months old and now weighs 80 pounds. Barbra and her aunt, Dana, are baffled by what they believe is a medical mystery because they say the little girl doesn't overeat. Dr. Phil brings in two medical experts to get to the bottom of this issue. Is Barbra contributing to her child's weight gain? Then, Tammy says she can’t change her family's eating habits. She's obese, her 11-year-old is 175 pounds and her 9-year-old is 136 pounds. Her sister, Debbie, says the boys portion sizes are too big and the family is just lazy. Can Dr. Phil get Tammy to stick to a nutrition plan? You won’t believe the surprise he has for her! Plus, Jessica says her mom, Angie, is blind to the health issues of her 351-pound sister, Jaleisa, who is only 15. Jessica says her mom never buys healthy food, and she fears her mom has Munchausen’s syndrome. Angie says she can’t monitor Jaleisa’s eating habits all day. Can Angie turn this situation around and save her daughter’s life, or is it too late? Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

Wow you are SO good!    I have gotten something from their guiltless grill before, I think it's called Citrus fire chicken (grilled).    It comes with rice pilaf and grilled pepers and onions, which I love.
I was "b-a-a-a-d" today! Ate Chili's Margarita-grilled chicken with black beans and seasonal vegetables. With a white chocolate molten cake chaser!

That is really inspiring Julie, I think I will try this...I might not beable to do as well as you have, but I think I can at least TRY and see what happens.

I am really excited for you that you hit 5 miles!!! And 43 minutes isn't bad...it's not like you are trying to run a race or something, that is a good speed for health IMO.
I'm finally getting a few hummingbirds!

If everyone could simply loose weight by eating less, and exercising, nobody would be fat. There has to be more to it than people being lazy. Who would want to be fat in such a fat prejudiced society?
No one is saying that everyone can "simply" lose weight by eating less and exercising. For some people, maybe even most, it is that simple. They burn more calories than they take in. And, lose weight. For others, it isn't that simple. There are  factors other than caloric intake, and burn, at play.

God Bless,

Beth

Yepper, it's all your fault! Actually I'd been planning to for quite a while. And, this was my first chance. Actually, the regular chocolate cake was better. Might ask them to use that next time, with the white chocolate topping. My "last hurrah" before going back to healthy eating.

I had my "last hurrah" today. A slice of six-layer chocolate cake at a Mennonite restaurant. The absolute best I've ever eaten!

too big, too young

I am really surprised at the title of the show,  more big fat babies.  Dr. phil claims to be such a children's right advocate,  yet he allows children to be called fat.  these children are not at fault,  whether it be medical or their eating habits.  i highly doubt that a three year old is cooking her own meals.  i am very disappointed

pay attention before you complain.  the title is too big, too young.  someone else titled their add 'more big fat babies'.   not dr. phil  he also didn't say it was their fault... most of the time it is the parents fault in these situations.  if you watched the show you would see what the problem was and dr. phil did take up for them.  thank you.

Disgraceful

This show was a disgrace..... it is terrible to see parents blaming everyone but themselves for what is their responsibilty. Im sure that the mother of the 3 year old was just looking for some cop out medical excuse for her bad parenting and she didnt find it because there was none! Go out and exercise and play with your children, they will appreciate it more than getting fat!!!!!!

Great Caesar's Ghost, don't you find it so tiresome when people pay no attention to a show, or someone else's post before they respond with some irrelevant, uninformed clap-trap!
