I think it's a fabulous tool....however, they are no longer potential criminals once they follow through, right? The intent was there and the bigger crime was prevented. Even if the authorities couldn't get the charges to stick, they've saved one more child from being exploited, raped, or worse.

I also think there is a fine line that authorities cross sometimes. But I won't get into that just yet. LOL

If they follow through, they ARE criminals, and no longer potential criminals.

IF they didn't actually commit a/the crime, but intended to,  the charges won't necessarily "stick". Either way it was prevented.

Gotccha !

Yeah, the first thing they all say is, "Well.....I wasn't gonna do anything.  Really."  But they show up with alcohol and condems in their pocket.  Sometimes they say, "I didn't know she/he was underage."  Yet, they got the e-mails (or whatever) manuscript where the person said quite a few times they were underage.

I think it's safe to "assume'....lol....they were planning on having sex with an underage person.  Do you know of any where the charges didn't stick?

To be direct:

No. Nobody "excites" me right now.

I think it's too early to say that any, or all, "disappoint" me. What I'm FRUSTRATED about is that the media have been calling this horse race since December of 2004 and were practically anointing Hillary Clinton the standard-bearer for the Democrats.

It's disconcerting that the Republicans are falling over each other to see who can appeal to the most socially conservative among us. There ARE other issues out there besides abortion and gay marriage -- I thought the Catholic bishops insulted the intelligence of the flock by, in effect, telling the faithful that abortion needed to be the "litmus test" issue (yet again!).

Yeah, as much as I would love to see a woman leading this country for a change from time to time, I would rather it be one that came in on her own merit then one that is voted in because of media attention.

Agreed.  LOL....which brings up back to the RBD !!  LOL  That's all I say about that....lol.

For the faithful to use as a deciding factor in voting?  LOL....if so (I think that's what you meant anyway, correct me if I'm wrong)....it would be typical to keep people's attention focused on that, creating more separation...then to unite the country and assuring someone may just be voted in that is actually....qualified to deal with the more pressing issues at hand.

Do they tell at the end of the show whether or not they were convicted of anything? I don't remember.

I just remember that they get taken down and cuffed & stuffed! LOL

Sad but true. Officially, they are also anti-capital punishment and anti-"unbridled capitalism," but I guess in their eyes, those issues pale in comparison.

Yeah.  It's a tough job...I wouldn't want it.  However, the moment one shows their emotions....or show that things like this bother them or worse "hurt their feelings"....OMG !

I am sure there will be women qualified for the job...but she's gotta be a tough broad and yet.....proud of her femininity...proud of who she is but not overly proud...simply because it will be a first if nothing else.  The woman President that finally gets in has to appear be one cool cumber.

I know a man (distant friend I don't see much) that wouldn't get on a plane with a woman pilot.  LOL.....he says he doesn't want some...oh gosh, how did he put it....."I donk want some bubbled headed woman flying a plane I'm gonna be in...(snort, sniff....scratches crotch)..."

What a jerk huh?  Yet, this is the opinion of many men that are not as blatantly chauvinistic as this one.

Beyond jerk -- try Neanderthal. LOL I can only guess why you don't see him much.

You're right -- whoever the first female Prez is is gonna have to be one tough broad to get it.

Yep...lol...not that I want her for President (not in the least) but a woman President that I want in has to have the demeanor of Martha Stewart (not entirely but maybe you know what I mean).

Stewart is one tough cookie (forgive the pun.)   She can ride with the guys and, unless there is something I don't know,.............. doesn't use her gender to excuse.

I don't know if you watched her apprentice show.  I was curious because she just got out of jail and then made that show.  The ole' broad didn't miss heartbeat.

Anyway, one of her future apprentices said something to the effect that something made her feel like crying.  Can't remember what.  Anyway, Stewart says, "You do...and you're outta here."...LOL...

Just for the record....I don't her for President.....not in the least.
