(Original Air Date: 01/10/08) As we age, we want to continue to feel and look young, but it helps to know a few secrets. Dr. Phil is joined by his wife, Robin, who reveals her tips for looking younger, feeling better and getting slimmer. She uses resources from her personal Rolodex to make over five moms who say they appear and feel older than they should. After visiting with a personal trainer, consulting with a skin care expert and working hard for a few weeks, the women are rewarded with a surprise trip to Robin's house. Find out the special gifts she presents to them. Then, Robin is joined by her daughter-in-law, Erica, and fashion guru Cojo for a shopping trip at L.A.'s popular store, Kitson, where she shows how to create hip, youthful looks for any age. With Cojo's help, Robin picks out outfits for the five women, and they reveal their new looks to their family members for the first time on Dr. Phil's stage! Don't miss Cojo's solutions for dressing disasters that add decades to your looks. Join the discussion.

not looking old

Quote From: potrzebie

It is really just the THOUGHT of turning 50 that is scary. The reality is that it's not bad! I honestly feel better, happier, more peaceful and frankly, younger than I ever have at any time of my life. I'm really serious. I remember one day being 23 and feeling so old. Now I'm younger than I was then, and much, much happier.

I would suggest that you think carefully about how you feel about your life at this point. Do you feel happy where you're at? I think this is really key.

On a lighter note, why not plan for an absolutely fantastic birthday? I wouldn't even involve anyone else who might possibly let you down. What would YOU really like to do? Would you like to take off for somewhere you've never been before, even in your own town? Wander around, go shopping, have tea, see a movie, try something new, do something you've always wanted to do, just wander. Don't even check in with anyone. This can be tremendously freeing.

Relax, really. Women are looking better and better at any age. Life is just beginning.

I am 55 and just took a book out of the library called How Not to Look Old,it is really good. I am happily remarried and happpier than when I was younger. My kids are all grown and doing well so I can think of myself more than I ever did before. I think we are doing much more than our parents did at our age and that keeps us young.

06/25 "What's Age Got to Do with It?"

I was sad that there was not a politically correct selection of ladies.

Love This Show

I loved this show!  I have decided not to keep sitting on the couch watching TV all day!  I am going to start learning to love myself.  I am going to get Dr. Phil's book on weight loss and start on my road away from the 35 year old that is overweight and lazy.

Wish me luck!!!

Getting "Me" Back

I am a single mom that has been divorced  a little over two years. I have two teens and that is not easy just by itself. I am a full time student that will graduate in Dec 2008 and is getting my BA in three years with honors. Got back into photography and now am a professional photojournalist for my school paper and freelance for the local paper. It has been a very hard three years. I gained over 50 lbs comforting myself with my friends "Ben and Jerry" and went from a hot 8 to an not 16/18! I never thought I would be fat again once I got down to that 8 and stayed there. I am mad that I let my ex and the divorce get to me. I am now wanting to be the "Hot Mama" that I know I can be. The future is mine and I want to claim it.

The hard part is the menopause stuff. Cycle changes and never knowing when things will start and stop.

I wish I was still in CA ad Dr. Hall was my gynecologist and delivered my son and would still be my doctor if I had stayed there.

I would like the best tips for skin and looking youthful. I have acne and wrinkles. I also have spotting along the jawline that is really unattractive. Looks like tan spots and ultra white spots combined.

Any tips and or suggestions would be great. I will not take prescription hormones so that kind of thing is not an option. Thanks for reading!

Today's show

I really enjoyed today's show.  I have many health problems and I know it has to do with hormonal imbalance.  I live in the midwest and don't know if there is a docotr that coudl help me.  I am overweight and have been dieting and exercising but my weight loss has been slim to nothing.  I am recently divorced and that relationship was very abusive and controlling on my ex's part.  I have done alot of healing emotionally but would now like to have a smokin hot body so that I can start dating again.  Please send whatever advice you have for me.

06/25 "What's Age Got to Do with It?"

I don't care what beauty treatments and secrets you use to help yourself look and feel better--getting old is very, very depressing!!!!!   I, myself, don't see the point of aging past 65 or so because the human body starts deteriorating.  And once you get to a real old age, like 70 or more, you can count on getting some horrible disease like cancer.  So why on Earth, would anyone want to live past 65?  I am 52 years old and pray that I won't have a real long life.  There is nothing positive about getting old!!
