Girls dancing on bars half-naked, passed out on the beach, hugging the porcelain … these are photos posted for all to see on the Web site Facebook, in a group called Thirty Reasons a Girl Should Call it a Night. These shocking and provocative pictures are supposedly submitted by the women in the photos themselves. The women say they love to have fun, and this is a way to bond with other girls just like them. But are there unforeseen consequences to letting the public behold you at your worst? Dr. Phil speaks with women on both sides of this debate. Jasmine is the moderator for the group Thirty Reasons and says, although she’s responsible for taking down questionable photos, she hasn’t found one yet! Amanda and Norma are incensed that women would degrade themselves in this way. Hear from the president of a company who uses Web sites like Facebook and MySpace to weed out potential employees. Could documenting your good time on the Internet become your biggest regret? Then, a teen who loves to drink says criticism of Thirty Reasons just reinforces the double standard of gender inequality. What do Dr. Phil and the teen’s mother think? Plus, a mayor’s sexy photo has her town’s residents outraged. And, meet a substitute teacher who says he was unfairly fired from his job two times for what’s on his MySpace page. Share your thoughts here.

Find out what happened on the show.

the substitute teacher

I feel as if the sub. teacher should be able to post what he wants on myspace. Look at alot of the shows on Nickelodeon for children like the show callled the naked brothers. When my 10 yr old told me he couldn't wait till the naked brothers was on i was like WHAT? Why would you call a childrens show that. Or look at the other shows how the teenage girls dress and how they seem to kiss on every show. Alot of commercials are even bad. Like a naked woman laying down so you can't see her breasts my 5 year old thinks that is funny. Now to get back to the teacher what is the difference REALLY Because in the long run he did nothing wrong. No one is perfect we are all guilty of it. So i think he deserves his job back. How about teachers that go out to the bars after school? Is that ok? Because word does get around especially if your parent is out with the teacher. Their is so much going on in this world it really is sad. You know I bet he can inspire a child or 2 since he is young and yes children will listen to him and because he seems to LOVE substituting. He could have choosen to picked another career. But he choose to go to school for that.    ;-)

Internet Mistakes

To guest Ian:  The moment you handed out your "band sticker" to a student at your place of employment is when you chose to open up your "personal" life to those in your work place.  Once you decided to promote the activities of your private life is when you no longer had one.  It was commendable that you immediately retracted the explicit content from the web, however shame on you for then posting a female exposing herself on a video.  You have the right to pursue whatever career you choose, however don't involve children if the content is not appropriate.

To Mary's mother:  Be a tougher Mom!!  Your daughter has a blatant disregard for rules, laws, and authority.  She just finished telling you (and millions of viewers) that she cannot be trusted with making her own decisions at this point.  You need to do whatever it takes to get Mary under control NOW!  Your minor child should lose every possible priviledge to "go out" and be able to do what she's been doing for the past several years.  She should not be allowed to leave your home (other than for school) until she can prove herself mature and trustworthy to make better, less self-destructing choices.  Be an active mother, not a spectator in your child's life!  Know who her friends are and get those parents involved too.  DO SOMETHING!!

internet stupidity/underage drinking

I do feel that it is very irresponsible to post stupid pictures on myspace/facebook or whatever.  Why or who are you trying to impress.  And the underage drinking thing,  I will admit in high school i did drink from time to time and it wasnt right, but I was responsible about it, I never passed out or became confused.  But my mother was an alcoholic and I didnt know until she died 3 yrs ago.  And as much as that teenager is drinking and as often, she is headed in that same direction.  I do not drink anymore because I saw the pain my mom went through.  I just hope her mom grows a brain and takes control again.

single parent home

Quote From: perkymom7

Since it's obvious that the mother of this young lady is completely clueless.....

I want to know, where is the father of this girl and why isn't he intervening?

Since she's also an underage drinker - shouldn't child protective services get involved in this case?

Where is daddy???

maybe they are from a single parent home there is alot of that now days duh! Not everyone is fortunate to have both parents

01/15 Internet Mistakes

As someone who works in content management, for a social networking website, I see a lot of things that people write which would absolutely shock their employers, parents, and significant others.

While I believe that employers should not base their judgment of an employee on is said on social networking sites (the general population tends to embellish quite a bit), I do believe that people need to wake up about the words they are saying and the actions they are taking, when online. There is no such thing as free speech on the internet and there is no such thing as privacy on the internet.

My mom taught me a valuable lesson when I was young and while it took me several years to figure it out for myself, I did figure it out and I keep my personal life just that... PERSONAL. She told me, "If you don't want someone to hear something you've said, don't say it. If you aren't prepared for the entire world to read what you've written, don't write it. If you aren't comfortable with a complete stranger judging you, then mind what you express and how you express it."

I think that a lot of people could do well from my mom's advice, especially the people on the show today. Life is not fair, but you can always take steps to avoid being unfairly treated.

I'd Rename this Show

This show should be renamed "Meet the Stupidest Girls on the Earth" What great logic these girls have.  "Well, guys are allowed to get drunk, and be idiots so we should be allowed to do that too."  Oh yes, let's all aspire to be as ignorant and imbecilic as a drunk!

In my opinion the problem with our youth is lack of discipline, dignity and morality.  We live in an "anything goes" society and it's crashing down around us.  It's just terrible that kids would get so drunk that they pass out, but to WANT to post pictures of themselves doing it, AND be PROUD OF IT, just shows their total lack of intelligence and common sense.  Gone are the days where people conducted themselves with dignity.  It's so sad.  Those girls are just a rape waiting to happen.  I hope their parents are very proud.

Judgment

For it to effect a job is rediculous and the girl that said I wouldnt want to work for some one so quick to judge is right. I would much rather work with a beutiful woman that does her job better and knows how to have fun then a grumpy fat lady that just does her job right.

01/15 Internet Mistakes

What I find more disturbing than the behavior of the girls posting pictures of themselves on the internet, is the judgemental attitude of your "straight" guests.  What these girls are doing is not new, just posting it on the internet is.  This behavior was going on when I was in high school 20 years ago and I'm sure it was going on 20 years before that and 20 years before that.

While these girls may be showing poor judgement, they are engaging in what is normal teen and young adult behavior.  Is the "straight" guest tracking down everyone who lets loose at spring break to impose her views and judgements on them?  If the "straight" guest doesn't like what she sees she doesn't have to look at it, but she does not have the right to contact these girls to verbally abuse them or to impose her judgements on them.  The girls will have to live with the repurcussions of their behavior, but the "straight" guest has no right to police their actions.

Myspace/Facebook

As a 19 yr girl. I am on both myspace and facebook. and I do post pictures. But I am not one of the girl who post there life on them. I know everything I post people will see even if i have my page blocked. These girl are stupid for thinking it is ok. i am proud of my pictures. they are of me and my friends complelely sober and happy. I would be proud for my boss and future bosses to look at my page. I think employers do have the right to jugde someone on there page. If you dont want the world to see. DONT take the pics. and DONT post it on the internet.
