(Original Air Date: 01/31/08) You’ve heard the phrase, “I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore!” Dr. Phil’s guests say to achieve justice they were forced to take matters into their own hands. Dr. William Moody says his constitutional rights were violated when he was physically and verbally attacked while arguing with a man about moving his car. But the dentist wasn’t on his best behavior either. You won’t believe what’s on this tape – but does it tell the whole story? What does Dr. Phil think? Then, 75-year-old Mona made national news when she walked into the office of her local cable company with a hammer and smashed up their equipment! She says they were rude and gave her inadequate service, and she doesn’t regret her actions. Was the grandmother justified in taking on big business with a weapon? Plus, meet a man who shot video of himself pulling over an erratic driver whom he thought was under the influence. Should you perform a citizen’s arrest if you encounter a drunk driver on the road? Hear what the experts have to say and join the discussion.

Find out what happened on the show.

other reports not verified

Quote From: sammie

I was actually waiting for Dr. Phil to ask Moody if he needed to come sit in his lap!  Maybe even get him a bottle and tell him how horrible the world has treated him...HA!  Dr. Phil needs to WAKE UP!  You are right--he would have bashed a white man for 30 minutes  if it had happened that way--Dr. Moody needs to be locked up for a spell to teach him a lesson--the world does NOT care if you are a Dr!!!! Not in the least--its JUST a piece of paper you have hanging on the wall--ANYONE can go to college & receive one!  He has done NOTHING special!  And FYI Med/Dental Schools are notorious for teaching potential drs to have the "god complex"..meaning that they are equal to God..which of course is NOT true--but they think so...which is the reason he did all of this!   And he is counting on getting away with it.....What a piece of S _ _ _!  He doesn't deserve to have a title at all , except maybe Prisoner # 68950475.....
We have no evidence about these supposed other reports about Dr. Moody's actions. They could easily have been people seeing the incident on TV and calling the police and saying they had seen him doing such and such earlier that day. No evidence that was true and eye witnessses are often wrong. Unless they had his tag number the accusation is worthless. The man was going to work, how did he have time to do all those things?

As for pushing the woman, she started it. Women can't complain if they are stupid enough to hit a man first. The whole thing is her fault. Her brother shouldn't have to wait for her, not when everyone has cell phones and can call just before they arrive.

civil disobedience

Quote From: sammie

..Although her actions were a bit on the extreme side, sometimes it takes a little wake-up call for these so-called "companies" ,who think they can control the public, to realize they need to get on the ball!  there was NO need for them to do this couple like this--especially an elderly couple--I can almost bet they won't do it again--I mean, when you are paying for a service every month, you should have SERVICE when you need it!  Comcast wouldn't have hesitated a moment to cut off their cable if they had been late I day on a payment, irregardless of reason.  Comcast is in  need of Customer Service Seminars!!.......I applaud Mrs. Shaw!
Hasn't anyone here heard of civil disobedience? That is what the lady did at Comcast. It has long and storied history in America. She did it and paid the fine. Enough said. Good for her. It could have been avoided. Comcast probably didn't explain to her that the Triple play gives you phone service through the Internet which means when the Internet is down, you have no phone service! It is only as reliable as your Internet service. If you really need a phone, you should have a back up cell phone.

Excellent

Quote From: f_brosius

First of all Dr. says move the car many times. Then you will see him push the driver away from his car door and get into the car. He never pulled the driver out of the car as he was already outside the car. Dr, gets into car that is not his (driver hits Dr.) , man says I will move it Dr. then gets out of car and goes to his own car. (Dr. says park in the driveway to man driving car) (Dr. also puts hand on his hip) He then notices film crew filming him. The Dr. then goes over and touches the camera lens as the reporter says dont touch the camera, do not touch the camera! You are assaulting him, Officers he is assaulting my camera man. Dr. then heads over to the man moving the car because the Dr. said to park the driveway (why he said this is unclear) and as he got to the back of the car the mans sister came around from the passengers side rear of the car and says get away from him and confronts the Dr. The Dr. is talking or what have you to driver in car with his right arm outstretched. If you watch the video the woman then hits the doctor in the chest with both forearms. (No idea if she was in passenger seat) The Dr. then pushes her and she falls down on her butt! (While all this was going on the cops was on seen. How do you know this? Because the reporter says Officer some help here he is assaulting my photographer.)   Then the brother hits the Dr. from behind then two other pedestrians (ladies) jump into this already mess. Also I was almost right, there are two police cars on the left side frame of the video and not one as I thought.

OK! The first thing is the Dr. pushed the driver; it would be a stretch to get him for theft. So driver hitting Dr. three times is free right? Second, Dr. puts hand on camera lens and pushes it to the left and off of him as he looks to not wanting to be filmed. Third, Dr. is saying something about park in driveway to the driver and has arm out stretched and at the same time the sister movies toward the Dr. The sister then pushes the Dr. with both arms directly in the chest! The Dr. then returns the auction and pushes the sister and she ends up on her butt!

This all comes down to this: The man driving the car did not ask to be touched by the Dr. (Dr. goes to jail)  The Driver felt in danger and hit the Dr. and under the rules is OK! The Dr. put his hands on the camera and not photographer, no foul as camera cannot have him arrested. Sister pushes Dr. and Dr. did not ask to be touched by sister (sister goes to jail) Dr. felt in danger and under the rules he can react. Brother (driver) hits Dr. from behind and in the head but again Dr. did not ask to be touched so driver now goes to jail! The Dr. hit no one after pushing sister.

The NEW WORLD ORDER OF THINGS goes like this as it was told to me. Could be wrong but do not think so if I am sorry Dr. Phil. Domestic Violence will put someone in jail. Domestic violence assault (verbal assault) or domestic violence battery (physical touching) this has all come down from females that let men off after assaulting them. As we know no woman would assault a man ever. So the STATE now puts the offender in jail and not the victim. As such the victim cannot let the offender off anymore and that is why the law on domestic violence was changed as the one charging the offender is the district attorney. So with that said all three should have been escorted to jail! The police did not do their job 100% they only did it part way. All you have to tell the police is I did not ask to be touched and it is that simple.

The Raw footage is:  http://wcbstv.com/topstories/dentist.parking.rage.2.564640.html but I have not watched the video right? Give me a break.

Every one saw this exact same thing and knows it to be true. They are jealous because he is a dentist and they likely work at McDonald's. Only one change, the brother goes to jail and does the most time. He threw the only punch out of anger over his sister being pushed and when he hit the doctor he was upset over property and did not fear his safety. The sister was also angry over what she witnessed happening to her brother. She should have gone to her brother's car. What were the police doing, while the brother was illegally parked in the street. (That started it all)

Love the hammer lady!!!!

I had worked for Comcast for 10 plus years and I could not agree with her more. She is absolutely telling the truth. There are nothing but idiots with an exception of a handful of bright and devoted reps that truly believe in customer first call resolution and I'm one of them. Because of phone stats(known as the matrix which is a series of steps that are taken in a call) reps are held accountable for the time they take with the customer you as a rep are allowed to take 345 seconds per call (seconds very for different departments; repair, sales, billing and retention not by much) if you don't resolve the customers problem in this time frame you have to make an appointment; which gets to more frustration because you as a rep know you can resolve the problem. But you are afraid to get written up and put on probation that may lead up to you loosing your job because you did not keep the time frame and along with the proper opening to the call and building repore with the customer and closing by reaffirming what you and the customer discussed, stating your name and closing the call with thanking the customer along with the companies name you may be fired if you do not follow these step; not right away but if you get written up enough times for not following these guide lines. However through my experience you can usually resolve the customers technical problem with in 20 minutes this is in a major technical call most of the time an average call is 5-8 minutes and yes I've timed them. The part that gets me the most is that management does not hire from the pool of experience reps that actually know the business in all departments billing, repair, etc... but would rather promote someone that makes their phone stats and have no real idea how cable.digital service, computer service or Comcast phone service really works. This is the only company that I know of that practice that art of allowing their reps to pick their shift not by seniority but how well they do in the matrix.  Also I have to inform you people that are reading this that I have heard with my own ears supervisors encouraging reps to rush through phone calls and to get rid of customers off the phone as soon as possible. Why?  You ask; because if their team of reps don't make stats (matrix)they do not get their monthly and  quarterly bonus.

01/31 Vigilante Justice

Quote From: meetzycat

There should be more people like that man, then maybe less people would be dying on the roads.  Case-in-point, I belong to the largest social network going right now (Cafemom), December 31st, a member of Cafemom and her family were going home after visiting family and were hit by a drunk driver going the wrong way on the highway, 5 people lost their lives that day, youngest was an 8 week old baby.  Many people tried to stop him, unfortunately they weren't able to.
For crying out loud, let's watch the show before we start posting messages. The post to which you are replying wasn't about Matt, the young man who made a citizen's arrest of a dwasnrunk driver. It about a dentist who yanked a driver out of a car causing him a slight inconvenience. He wasn't trying to save anyone's life. There should beless people like him. Not more!

Quote From: carroll58

The dentist did honk his horn, they said that later in the show. He honked for a good five minutes but the idiot was waiting for his silly sister to come down. If someone was blocking traffic waiting in a car for me, I would have come downstairs as quickly as possible and apologized profusely to the other driver. This woman was taking her own sweet time. Why wasn't she on the sidewalk waiting for her brother? Why didn't the police intervene when they heard the horn? They should have arrested everyone: the woman, her brother and the dentist, then released them all with no charges. Instead, because there were cameras, the police acted foolishly. Why did the only arrest the black guy? The officers were white, a bit of racism here?
Oh, get real! If those white police officers were really racist, they would've arrested all three, Moody for being Black and the brother and sister for being Hispanic.

of course it wasnt very good idea starting the fight and pulling the guy out of his car but then the guy pushed the doctor now that is assult. that wasnt assult how he went up to the camera guy to turn it off, nono, that wasnt assult he was trying to have privacy on what he's doing but of course went away not wanting any confrontation from the cop. Now when the sister came out to push him NOW she shouldnt of done that, stupid girl.
Privacy!!! If that damn stupid "dentist" wanted privacy, he shouldn't have been having a public tantrum over a slight inconvenience.

Spunky Lady!

Maybe the way she handled her issues with Comcast were wrong. . .but I sure do applaud her efforts!

Where I live we at least have a choice who we have for cable but that wasn't the case not long ago.

I could have written a book on our experiences with Comcast. . .none of them good. It started out ok but then the downhill slide began.

Even our local library had to disconnect from Comcast!

When my apt. building was getting wired for cable from Comcast, the workers were walking in the attic and stepped wrong and caused a crack in the ceiling of my neighbor's apt. The ceiling eventually collapsed and had to be replaced. When my landlord called Comcast, they ended up sending a repair technician who thought the problem was with the cable connection to the tv!! And that's just  the tip of the iceberg!
