(Original Air Date: 01/31/08) You’ve heard the phrase, “I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore!” Dr. Phil’s guests say to achieve justice they were forced to take matters into their own hands. Dr. William Moody says his constitutional rights were violated when he was physically and verbally attacked while arguing with a man about moving his car. But the dentist wasn’t on his best behavior either. You won’t believe what’s on this tape – but does it tell the whole story? What does Dr. Phil think? Then, 75-year-old Mona made national news when she walked into the office of her local cable company with a hammer and smashed up their equipment! She says they were rude and gave her inadequate service, and she doesn’t regret her actions. Was the grandmother justified in taking on big business with a weapon? Plus, meet a man who shot video of himself pulling over an erratic driver whom he thought was under the influence. Should you perform a citizen’s arrest if you encounter a drunk driver on the road? Hear what the experts have to say and join the discussion.

Find out what happened on the show.

I am not surprised that the first person the officers approached was an African-American Male.  Dr. Phil I am really surprised with your actions.   Unless one is "stupid", you are actively trying this man on national t.v.  I am sure if  it was "Dr. Phil" they would have moved immediately.  Like or not you know this is true.  Or was It because of  they were "refugees".   As for your father, was he a good father or not?  This is a pure case of racism.  Everyone gasped when the doctor pushed the woman.  Women wanted rights so they have earned the right to keep thier hands to themselves, to avoid retaliation.  Now matter how well educated my people become, we are still judged by our skin.  Even the doctor's attorney was rediculed.  I wonder what would happen if he were "White"?

The officers approached the African-American male first because he was OUT OF CONTROL! Of course police are going to take an out of control person away from people. I am a white woman and this is obviously NOT about racism. I can't believe someone would even think of that. And about the womans right? How about the fact that he's twice her size and could obviously do much more harm to her than she could to him. REAL men do not put thier hands on a woman.  If he was a real man he would have walked away, but that means he would have self control.  And with the racism, if everyone in the situation was white I would still feel the same way. Grow up!

Comcast!!!

Comcast is running a racket!  I live in central PA and what the hammer women said is exactly how they are. You will sit on the phone for hours before someone pics up. The service men don't show up when they say they will.  It is so ridiculous they have no cable competition to keep them honest!

If this incident was not made up by the crew and staff of Dr Phil, Why would a camera man just happen to be on the scene?  What a bunch of bologna.  Re  the first Dr Phil vigilante.
Camera crews are present throughout New York.  It is after all the nation's #1 media market.  It is no surprise this crew was there covering some other story, or it may be the cas that this lunatic is so notorious one of the neighbor businesses called WCBS, anticipating trouble.

Dr. Moody

It is so sad that something so small can escalate a situation to the point where a man thinks it's ok to shove a woman to the ground.  I don't care if she did push him.  Shame on you Dr. Moody!  If they show the video I saw, you don't stand a chance in court.  You looked like the bully.

Good Lord!! What a wimpy, whiny, despicable puss of a "man'!! A typical bully who goes around intimidating others....like a woman...and then cries when someone fights back.

Interesting that he chose a woman to push down, rather than one of the men. A man would have knocked him senseless!

Ugh!

YOU VIOLATED MY RIGHTS!

I am not a landshark, er, attorney.

Male or female, old or young,  race or race.

One of the most trite statement is, "You violated my Constitutional right(s)".

This is about as stupid as, "I'll sue you to the Supreme Court!"

I'm waiting. Still waiting. Dr. P, ask them to explain which Constitutional right(s) are in violation. Hold their feet to the fire.  "Paging Dr. Heimlich, paging Dr. Heimlich, I'm choking on this garbage"

Five minutes?  He waited five minutes and suddenly figured his time becomes more important than anyone else? Just because it's longer than the time he can hold his breath doesn't mean he's waiting beyond what is tolerable.

Someone who is "blocking" him might have waited for sixty minutes.

As him. Please ask him how long the other people on the street waited.

He was lucky. And it's not because there was a camera to film parts of it, even if most of it goes against him.  He was lucky someone didn't intervene on anyone's behalf.  He could have had someone beat the prunes out of him. A baseball bat? A gun? Taser?

That would be rich.  He'd killed or maimed but guess what? He was right.

Those three kids he keeps mentioning will be without a parent. But the parent was right.

I'll wager he even tried to squeeze in and no one would.  So what? So what if they won't let him in.

Most people don't let you squeeze in because of his behavior.

If anyone is worried about a schedule, then plan. Take another route: taxi, who knows how to get there faster than you can, a bus, thumb a ride.

Comcast is not customer friendly

Our local cable company was bought out by Comcast unfortunately and the service went downhill from there. There prices have gone up to twice or three times the rate of other cable companies and there tv packages have decreased. They don't have that many channels the other cable company they bought out had more and was friendlier.I switched to directtv and pay less and get twice as many channels and have not had a single problem with them at all.

Are you seriously kidding me?!  The gentleman (and I use the term lightly and NOT because of the color of his skin) was obviously a ticking timebomb lashing out at everyone from the man who was willing and wanting to move his car to the camera man who was breaking no laws by filming on a public street.  And as far as the police officers were concerned they'd be idiots not to clearly see who the perpetrater was that day.  Let go of your race card!  Dr. King, Rosa Parks, Eleanor Holmes Norton, and so many others who fought so hard for equality among races would be embarassed by your ignorant comments.

Moody did wrong

I watched a rerun of the show on Aug.21st ,2008. Moody claims he was attacked first,I say he is wrong ,He was the one that attacked first by laying hands on the gentleman of the other car first, by shoving him out of the way to get into his car. I agree with the lady that got shoved . And I don't that was lawyer that was with, but I could be wrong.
