Topic : 02/06 Pill Popping Twins

My best friend of 32 years just passed away in october due to a pill overdose her 12 year old son found her! Please get help there is no such thing as a life on pills only heartbreak and sorrow.

I'm so glad you posted--from your username, I'm assuming you are from Louisiana, and that helps me to know where the twins are from.  I had guessed Louisiana or Canada--just a little French thing going on there.  I think Dr. Phil could only address so many issues, even when he added another hour.  Of course there are other things going on, and I think we can be sure that it will all be addressed while they are in rehab.  I also think he will take some sort of action concerning the mother while she's caring for the 3 kids.  Dr. Phl was waiting for the mother to say that she wouldn't drink and gamble while they were in her care, and stop the screaming, etc.  But she didn't, so I'm sure he will also get her and the kids in some kind of outpatient treatment.  We just have to trust Dr. Phil to do the right thing off-camera, as all issues can't be discussed on the show.

These ladies need help fast because if they don't I don't see them living much longer.

DR. PHIL~ I KNOW PILL POPPIN TWINS AND ONE OF THEM IS ABOUT TO GO TO HER DEATH BED. THEIR NAMES ARE ASHLEY AND ANNA.  ASHLEY IS THE WORST ONE SHE IS SO HOOKED IT IS HARD TO SEE HER. WHEN SHE IS ON THE PILLS SHE IS LIKE IN A WALKING COMA.    ASHLEY WILL DIE SOON IF SHE DOES NOT GET HELP.  SHE HAS BEEN TO REHAB MANY TIMES.  SHE HAS WALKED OUT A COUPLE OF TIMES AND MADE IT THE REST OF THE TIMES. I CAN TOTALY RELATE TO YVONNE AND YVETTE AND THEIR FAMILY. I WISH THE BEST OF LUCK TO THEM AND HOPE THEY TAKE THE HELP U OFFERED AND STAY STRAIGHT.

I saw the entire show and I like the way Dr. Phil handled or tried to handle the sisters.

I'm worried about the children being put in the care of the mother.

it is the quantities that scare me. i am taking 300 oxycontin 40mg  10 a day and 10  10/325mg a day, there alot of times that i run out because  of the length of time i have been taking them. i also take soma  and xaxan for anxiety, people us to wonder how i use to get to work and from work, most of the time i make no sence. i have fallen asleep outside having a cigerette and my son has had to bring me in the house because i wont wake up, so i guess i didnt tell the whole story. i guess people who use drugs rx or not can be pretty sneeky people. thanks for your letter

Have you ever gone to a Pain Clinic?  Tried  nerve blocks?  Lidoderm patches?  Tens units?  That IS a worrisome amount of pain meds that you are on.  How are your bowel movements?  Do you ever poop?  I took care of an elderly person who took 320 mg of Oxycontin a day (160mg in the morning, 160mg in the evening.)  That is the largest amount of oxycontin I had ever heard of anyone taking- until you.  It did not appear to even have an effect on her.  If you take 10- 40mg tabs of oxycontin a day (200mg in the AM, 200mg in the PM I assume) then that is 400mg a day.  I wonder also why your doctor gives you that strength tablet.  There are higher ones.  Does he realize that you are taking 10 of them a day? 

The Percocet is for breakthrough pain?  I can't believe you have any.  The Xanax?  Soma?  If you have a terminal illness then medical personnel will alleviate your pain.  They do not worry about addiction if someone is terminal.  This is true also with chronic pain to an extent.  How is your quality of life on these meds compared to before you started taking them?  Please get another opinion.  I will keep you in my prayers.   I am worried about you. 

the dr. that i see , i use to work for . he also runs a pain center. he is the one that rx'd them for me. some days are great and some just stink. i have tried evertyhing. it has to be autherized through my insurance. i dont have a life. my daughter is mad at me so there for i dont see her much. up until about 10 years ago i had never been sick a day in my life, now this thing has aged me about 10 years and i have lost alot of weight, so if i do anything with anyone i grit my teeth and bear it, so that i have some sort  of quality of life ,even if it is as little as it is. thanks for writing .....michele

My name is Kathy.  I am concerned that because you used to work for this doctor he might not be as objective as someone you saw on a totally professional basis. Nothing against the man but maybe he does not see the problem that you are having as clearly since he is both the prescriber and friend/ acquaintance.  I wonder if you could find another opinion from another pain specialist in your area?

I have a cousin with chronic severe back pain.  He is 42 and in a wheelchair most of the time.  When his back seizes up he ends up in a sweat and trembling.  He has had such severe pain he has considered suicide.  I know how painful these conditions can be.  I don't judge you.  I understand what you are going through is hard but you are worth the fight.  Don't give up!!  You have been in my thoughts and prayers Michele.

Please if you are going to fix the twins ...save the CHILDREN FIRST...and fix entire family....

 

I believe IF you live in a sick inviroment long enough...YOU too become SICK???
