(Original Air Date: 02/15/08) What happens when a parent’s agenda becomes so extreme that his or her children are forced to live a harsh, stoic existence? Dan and Janna are a college-educated couple married for 15 years with seven children, ages ranging from 2 weeks to 14. They have no income, no heat, no running water and are about to lose their house. Dan and Janna believe that their primitive lifestyle is God’s will, and that they are being led by the Lord. Janna’s mom, Carol, and stepdad, Rich, are worried about the health of their grandchildren. Are they eating enough? Are they warm enough? They say because the children are home schooled, they live in a cult-like home environment, and are not exposed to the outside world. Carol and Rich are willing to bail this family out one last time, but why are Dan and Janna refusing the help? After eight failed businesses, why won’t Dan get a job to support his family? Where will they go when they are forced out of their home? Talk about the show here.

SEVEN TYPES OF ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION

The brain is involved in everything we do. How we think, how we feel, how we act, and how well we get along with other people is related to the moment-by-moment functioning of the brain. When the brain works right, people tend to work right. When the brain is troubled, people tend to struggle being their best selves.

A depressive disorder is a whole-body illness, involving your body, mood, and thoughts. It affects the way you eat and sleep, the way you feel about yourself and the way you do things. A depressive disorder is not the same as a passing blue mood. Without treatment, symptoms can last for weeks, months, or years. Possibly the saddest fact about depression is that much of this suffering is unnecessary. Most people with a depressive illness do not seek treatment. Unfortunately, many people do not recognize they have a treatable illness. Thanks for many years of research, psychotherapy and depending on the severity medications; appropriate treatment, however, can help most people who suffer from depression.

Why are those people allowed to live like that...WITH children?

I don't know what state this family lives in but I can't believe that Child Protective Services hasn't been contacted regarding the way these children are living. They must be from the South because up North the lack of Heat would have been an immediate concern. Or maybe they live in New Hampshire... the "Live Free or Die" state.

I feel really sad for these children.

HELLLLLOOOOOOOOO...

They're all yelling at this guy that keeps trying different jobs, which don't seem to work out, but why isn't anyone looking at the wife who has seen this year after year, which is how I believe she put it, yet she keeps popping out all those babies. Thus, the "Helllllllllllllloooooooooo" banner.

This man scares the crap out of me

He strikes me as the type of person that I'll be reading about somewhere down the road that will be a family annihilator. There must be a law somewhere that gets those kids out from under these parents.

That version does exist .But, unfortunely, it only exists in Dan's head. It's his own "Bible" that tells him just what he wants to hear. But, you won't be able to buy it. Since he's too lazy to write, copy, and sell, it.

What a Bunch of Crap

This show and the show yesterday have left me frustrated. I feel like neither show was completed. Like there is something more to be said.

The show of the 15th.....why would any woman have 7 children that she can't provide for alone or with her husband? She needs birth control or tubal ligation or something. I feel so sorry for the chldren and the next few years of their lives.

I hope someone will offer this man a real job and he will accept it and will begin to provide for his family better....and in his spare time work on his other income ideas.

The show of the 14th....left me just wondering, will we come back from a commercial break.

When this man realizes that his interpretation of the scriptures is incorrect and begins to feel let down by God there is going to be a problem. Were talking family annihilation here.
