How would you feel if an airline banned you for how you looked? According to two young women, they’ve been banned for life from flying Southwest Airlines. Sarah and Nisreen made national news when they were escorted off a plane because they say the airline had a problem with them because they were “young and decent-looking” and their flight attendants were “middle-aged.” Southwest denies treating the women unfairly because of their appearance and says the women used vulgar language, obscene gestures and aggressive behavior. Joining the conversation is Kyla, who says she was told by Southwest that her outfit was too skimpy, and two other passengers who say the airline booted them because they were women. Then, McKay is a 15-year-old on a mission to end cussing. He founded a No Cussing Club at his high school and wants to inspire others to stop swearing and examine the power of words. McKay’s campaign has even motivated his mayor to pass a proclamation for a No Cussing Week in his hometown. Don’t miss reactions from the teen’s family and classmates! If it’s happening now, Dr. Phil is going to deal with it now! Join the discussion.

disagree!!!

Quote From: flico40

lets get real, if young girls dress sexy and use bad language try adjusting your own minds and not let these thingsd become so important i cant beleive that the airlines should have a right to turn anyone away because of hoe they are dressed and bad lasnquage is only words get over it and also is this really worthy of a tv show who cares?
I strongly disagree with what you say.  When you are on a plane you are couped up in close proximity for many hours.  Why should decent people be subjected to the obnoxious and rude behavior of others?  Why should  we have to keep "dumbing down" society to accommodate losers such as these girls.  Thank you but I do not intend to "adjust my mind' to accommodate them.

attractive?

Quote From: hrtsdesire

I know these type girls, ok they clearly need to GET OVER themselves. They are the Brittney Spears, Paris Hilton WANNA-BE's and I do not believe for one minute that they were kicked off the plane because they were "attractive". These type girls are rude trouble makers who use foul language and need attention. They will do ANYTHING to get people to notice them because their everyday lives are humdrum and they desperately want to make the headlines just as Paris, Lindsay and Brittney do. These girls should soak up their 5 minutes of fame because next week they won't even be remembered. And trust me girls these "middle" aged flight attendents are not jealous of you, they think you are fools and they are there to protect the other flyers and when you were acting inappropriate on the plane, they had no choice  but to take action. I don't  know why this generation of girls think that they are the end all, they need to get over themselves and become productive members of society and do something worthwhile in this life instead of glaring at the image looking back to them in the mirror. Its a shallow life and these girls are SHALLOW
What is even remotely "attractive" about foul -mouthed, rude, attention-seeking chicks?  Not much!!!  They need to get over themselves.

Ban Cursing

I think that foul language should be baneed in all public areas. I hate hearing it.  Also, it shows the lack of vocabulary of the users.

Me too...

Quote From: norewind

When I fly, I fly exclusively on Southwest (about twelve or more roundtrips per year for last several years).  My impression of Southwest as a company is sheer admiration [they manage to post a plus while having lowest fares on the market, when other airlines go under, and my experiences with their employees are great: professional, cheerful, relaxed, courteous, knolwedgeable and friendly.  Based on my experiences, I am ready to flatly not believe that their appearanve had nothing to do with the reason they were denied boarding or banned from using Southwest.  If loud cussing and aggressive behavior toward staff or fellow passengers was involved, then that is a valid reason and the girls have nobody but themselves to blame for it.  I hope Southwest representative is heard in the Dr.Phil show when it airs in my area on Friday this week.  Pretty sure that will be the case, Dr, Phil has the reputation of being fair and unbiased in discussing problems.

I've flown Southwest MANY times and consider myself young and decent looking (I don't consider myself ugly).  I've never once been thrown off SWA, but then again I'm usually not enibriated (sp?) in public places either.  I have a hard time believing those girls were thrown off the flight for their "good looks" alone.  This is all about getting the spotlight so they can end up paparazzi magnets (and then complain about it when their "lady parts" show up in trash mags).  Do we really need (or want) another Britney Spears, making a business out of "wh**ring it up"?  Is this some kind of "how messed up can I make my life" peeing contest for attention?

And they make women in general look bad.  We're not B's and W's- that's what they're selling.  The party girl image (not all of it, just the stupid Barbie sh**) portrays women as primitive, stupid, ignorant, arrogant, inconsequential, shallow, vain, unproductive, and self-limiting.  And they get attention for it?  No, screw that!  How about respecting yourself enough not to desperately need someone else's approval that you'll grovel and demean yourself to get it?  How bout THAT?

03/14 Dr. Phil Now: Fly Girls

Quote From: jcitron

Nobody has the right to force others to listen to their vulgar language, and look at their body parts geared for the stimulation of a man. Our kids are being corrupted and exploited; they have not even a clue on how they are being perceived and basically being used. To dress up like a prostitute, and think thats cool, is bordering insane. Dr. Phil you always talk about young people not having the proper ability/knowledge to discern what degrading behavior is, please help inform them.  Their looking for love in all the wrong places.

A concerned Mom

"and look at their body parts geared for the stimulation of a man."

Well you better get your pioneer dress out because some men LOOOOOOVE legs.

Its about time!!!

I think in todays society we are not taught enough about respect. Respecting one anothers space and air. Its not whether or not we swear its the fact that we do not respect the other people around us not to pay attention to our mouthsand respect that people do not see us as we ourselves see us. I live in a world of younger generational types around all the time and trust me if they say the "F" word once they say it a thousand times. It is such a shame that they have not been taught respect, honor, and morals. Some but not all of the younger generation that I have seen have been taught how to take and only to give if it suits their wants. I say shame on some of the parents that have raised their children to be such morons and truly some of the most disrespectful people in society. I like to blame the parents for this simply because I see it all the time, how do you let your  children treat you??? If your children behave badly at home what makes you think that in a public arena they would be any different. The girls from the plane may be a prime example....

Get Real

My daughter is a singer with a voice and look along the lines of Carrie Underwood. She supports herself between gigs and getting "discovered" by working at a very "artsy fartsy" restaurant with a wine list that would choke a horse. I could get 500 people tomorrow to tell you how sweet she is and very respectful of everyone. You should hear the stories she tells me of the Executive Women from a very visible oil company here in Oklahoma who come to the restaurant for lunch!!! These are women ranging in age from 25 to 55 and they are witches! Hateful, condescending , rude and coarse! She placates their attitude with various devices and usually ends up with a healthy tip which amazes me! She studied opera, can discuss AynnRand books and these high heeled hussies think they are somehow obliged to make themselves feel superior by their rudeness. We are a mean hateful people when we think no one is looking. So  ladies, you've been "outted" to Dr. Phil

Trampy Girls Being Forced On Us

Quote From: stratocumulus

This is so ridiculous that these girls are getting more attention for doing something that was offensive to the general public to begin with.  I love the Dr. Phil show and will continue to watch as always, (except this portion of the show)  but this is such a major waste of good television time.   These ladies deserve NO national attention for this and only promotes the whiney, pitch a fit for everything  to get as much attention as I can, even if I am the one who caused the problem attitude of younger people today. And I am a younger person!    We have soooo much going on in the world right now,  there has to be more interesting people to talk with.  These girls really need to find a hobby or something to give a self-esteem boost rather than a rush from sitting on a stage.   I am looking forward to seeing  McKay's story as it sounds like this is a person who is actually contributing to society in a positive way.

SHAME ON YOU DR. PHIL. HAVEN'T WE SEEN ENOUGH OF KYLA. SHE TOLD YOU SHE WOULD NEVER GO ON ANOTHER TALK SHOW.  WHAT DO YOU DO? YOU PUT HER ON YOURS AGAIN. I WILL NOT BE FORCED TO SEE HER AGAIN, I WILL RECORD THE PROGRAM, AND ONLY WATCH THE YOUNG MAN THAT IS GOING TO STOP CUSSING. McCAY. GOOD FOR SOME YOUNG PEOPLE OUT THERE . THERE ARE SOME YOUNG PEOPLE OUT THERE WITH BRAINS AND CLASS ! ! ! !  I AM GETTING  UPSET WIT THE SHOWS YOU HAVE BEEN DOING. I AM ABOUT TO STOP WATCHING YOUR'S TOO. I STOPPED WATCHING OPRAH YEARS AGO. SHE ACTS LIKE AN IDIOT WHEN SHE GETS SOME STARS ON. SHE SCREAMS AND TRYS TO ACT LIKE A KID.

Disrespect on Airlines

ATTN: Airlines.  Please kick rude, foul-mouthed passengers off your airlines!  Airlines should have the right to establish rules relating to this subject that all passengers should be required to abide by, and you should also have the right to enforce those rules, for the benefit of the majority of your passengers who were taught manners growing up!  Parents who raise their children with manners shouldn't be forced to have their own children exposed to immature mannerless clods like these girls!

God did not create the "Ten Suggestions", but "The Ten Commandments"!  He did so to teach us how to treat one another.  We live in a society today, unfortunately,  where too many people were not brought up in Christian homes; therefore, they were not exposed to "The Ten Commandments" or the "Golden Rule" in their own  homes, in their public schools, or the public square, like we were growing up in the 1950's and 1960's!  It's past time, for the good of society, we return to exposing people to the rules our wise and loving God laid down for the benefit of all of us.

Our US Government and our laws are based upon The Ten Commandments!  It saddens me most of my fellow Americans are uneducated about this fact.  I suggest they go to www.wallbuilders.com and check it out.  Lawless societies create anarchy.  We only need study history to realize that.  Those refusing to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
