How would you feel if an airline banned you for how you looked? According to two young women, they’ve been banned for life from flying Southwest Airlines. Sarah and Nisreen made national news when they were escorted off a plane because they say the airline had a problem with them because they were “young and decent-looking” and their flight attendants were “middle-aged.” Southwest denies treating the women unfairly because of their appearance and says the women used vulgar language, obscene gestures and aggressive behavior. Joining the conversation is Kyla, who says she was told by Southwest that her outfit was too skimpy, and two other passengers who say the airline booted them because they were women. Then, McKay is a 15-year-old on a mission to end cussing. He founded a No Cussing Club at his high school and wants to inspire others to stop swearing and examine the power of words. McKay’s campaign has even motivated his mayor to pass a proclamation for a No Cussing Week in his hometown. Don’t miss reactions from the teen’s family and classmates! If it’s happening now, Dr. Phil is going to deal with it now! Join the discussion.

These girls are pathetic.  Get over it and move on.  Airlines have a responsibility to all customers not just a few.  Grow up girls and move on.

FOOLISH, ARROGANT, CLASSLESS GIRLS...

As a mother and high school teacher, I would be SO ASHAMED & EMBARRASSED if my daughter were so IMMATURE an ARROGANT to think that she is so good looking that someone would actually kick her off an airline flight for that reason! Airlines are in the business to make $$$$; they are not stupid. They want the cash. These foolish young women (and I use the term "women" loosely....not pun intended) need to grow up, stop being so conceited and learn to have some class. It's pathetic that they don't even know when they should be ashamed of their own behavior and attitude!

As for the "No Cussing Club," it is sad when our country has come to this....when people have lost manners and respect for themselves. It's an inventive idea and I wish the young man well. Sadly, too many young people are raised by televisions (and innappropriate shows), video games, computer games (violent ones with sexual content) and peers. Their parents are either too busy with their careers or their own social lives to spend time with them. Kids these days lack appropriate role models. But sometimes the BEST role models for teens is OTHER TEENS. Good luck to this creative young person!

Now let's get some inventive young man or woman (or group) to start a "SAY NO TO SEX UNTIL MARRIAGE" group going nationwide. We adults should be up-in-arms about the 1-in-4 statistic of our teen girls having STD's in this country. It's disgusting and dangerous. Sex wasn't meant for kids; they're not emotionally, physically or socially ready for it. God meant sex for happily married couples! He knew what he was talking about! We tell kids NOT to play with guns (we don't give them trigger locks). We tell them not to drink (we don't take away their keys). We tell them not to use drugs (we don't take away their rolling papers), etc!!! Let's make it UNCOOL for kids to have sex when they're kids. THIS CAN BE DONE IF KIDS START GROUPS.

Unbelievable

Do they really think they got their message across? To me, they came across just as they were accused of by South West.

I travel a lot and I have flown South West many times. By far they are one of the best airlines out there. As a traveller, I am entitled to a peaceful flight and if these 2 girls and i call them girls because they certainly are not women, interrupted my flight as described, I would have been upset. They got what they deserved and its time for them to stop blaming everyone for their actions. Enough with the drama, they need to admit that they acted immaturely, accept responsibility and move on with their life, taking with them a lesson learned the hard way.

My 1.5 cents worth.

Is it just me?

Seems like Dr. Phil is leaning to South West side to obviously. I have felt mistreated by an airline before in several occasions and I believe it has little to do with being pretty, nevertheless It happens more than airlines are willing to accept publicly. Why is Dr. Phil endorsing an airline just because they treat him well.....I guess most rich and famous will  be treated the best possible for many reasons (maybe they are quicker to take legal action? maybe is people's fascination with the famous........). The South West spoke person kept quoting flight attendant statements and my question is...Why is that statement any more accurate or true than the one from the passengers???
This is not helping the everyday kind of passengers that puts on with delays and/or at time rude flight attendants without any compensation at all.

Yeah Right

I have a hard time believing Sarah and her friend didn't do anything to get kicked off that flight. The airline attendants and the other passenger both said they were acting unruly yet we're suppoe to believe they weren't? Sarah especially came off bad on the show. When you are in a fight like this you have to have a goal. Dr. Phil kept asking her what she wanted, what would make her happy, and she couldn't answer. She kept saying I want to know why the other guy wasn't questioned. If she was a mature adult she would understand that that question can never be answered. She needs to get a clue. There are ways to conduct yourself in public. If you can't conduct yourself properly then there are consequences, period.

03/14 Dr. Phil Now: Fly Girls

I feel these girls are being ridiculous.   I am female and consider myself attractive and have NEVER had any issues flying Southwest.  One of the statements made was that they are targeting women and that there are never any men being treated this way.  I disagree with this because I have watched Southwest's television show Airline and have seen several men denied access to the plane because of many things - intoxication, inappropriate behaviour, and one man smelt really bad.  I thought that each situation was delt with in a professional manner.  I do agree that these girls are out for their 15 minutes of fame and money.  I will proudly say that Southwest is definately my favorite airline to fly.  Kudos to Southwest.

Sincerely,

Wendy

Airline attendants given too much power

I am not a frequent flyer in the times I've traveled over the years (I'm over 50), I have noticed a tremendous change. It used to be that airline personnel were pleasant and helpful. The past few years I have encountered hostility and rudeness. I am an older woman and dress convservatively so I don't have the problem posed by these young women. It's difficult to travel by air now. You have to wait, endure security checks (I had my too-plump stomach poked and prodded to make sure I wasn't hiding anything), then when you get on the plane, instead of smiles, you're greeted by arrogant flight attendants barking orders and sometimes threats. It's a case of giving a little power to little people. It's been compounded by them being able to use "security" as an excuse for rudeness. By the time passengers get on the plane, they're already stressed and then encounter more stress from attendants. Airlines -- such as the representative on your show today -- just offer excuses. How about an apology and an attempt to bring back common courtesy?

Beauty is only skin deep!

The feeling I came away with after watching the show was that just because these two young women "perceived" themselves to be pretty, they should be treated better than the "average looking" person. However, my mother always told me, "Beauty is only skin deep." The actions of these young women place them in the category of not so pretty. No matter what your outward appearance is, your actions reflect inner self more often than not. Besides the issue of looks, there is a security policy which is set forth by each airline and ruled/regulated by the FAA. A policy which is a part of your flight agreement. The young women breached this agreement when they continued to be rude and explosive to the gentleman on the flight as well as the flight attendant(s). Regardless of how the "confrontation" originated, we are talking about disrupting a secure flight over a toilet....sounds real mature and "pretty" to me. I commend Southwest for their actions and hope that this will only reinforce to those who insist they should be treated differently or act indecently the simple fact that as a nation whose security was breached through our airlines, we cannot afford to allow ANYONE to place us in that situation again no matter how pretty they are or "perceive" themselves to be. I sincerely hope that each and everyone who CANNOT and/or WILL NOT adhere to our nation's rules of conduct for flight remain at home for the safety, security, and peace of mind of all us "sub-pretty", considerate, law-abiding, citizens of the United States of America.
