(Original Air Date 05/02/08) Demi Moore did it. So did Madonna and Halle Berry. This trend of older women dating younger men is called the Cougar Craze, and it’s sweeping the country. Recently, at a New York speed-dating event, Sugar Mamas and Boy Toys, good-looking 35-year-old men wooed women over 35 who made at least $500,000 a year. Jeremy organized the event and says he was just answering a demand from affluent ladies. Was he sincere in his matchmaking or just out to make a buck? Dr. Phil talks to two women who participated in the event -- Gail, 44, and Nancy, 50. Their experiences might surprise you. Then, 51-year-old Kat says she’s no cougar; she just likes to date younger guys because men her age are set in their ways. She says her 23-year-old ex-boyfriend, Ryon, was loving, passionate and had a much higher libido than older men. Her friend, Nancy, says Kat has a great head for business, but a bad one when it comes to the opposite sex. She says young men just see dollar signs when they see Kat. Is Kat dating down, or should Nancy just butt out? And, Bobbi had an 11-year relationship with a man who was 17 years her junior, but she says once she turned 50, he saw her as too old. She wants to be in a relationship again, but not with an older man. Her son, Nathan, says someone still wet behind the ears can’t appreciate all Bobbi has to offer. Does Nathan have the right to put his foot down with his mother? Share your thoughts, join the discussion.

what your atracted to.

Well i think, you are atracted to who your atracted to.  Dont matter what the sex is, color is, age is at all.  I am a guy who like older women.  You ask me why? I dont know just do.  Much wiser i gues.  People fall inlove who they are atracted to, how good they get along with each other.

Cake

Quote From: jewelsf

Oh yes, I definitely look at sex as cake! What would be the fun in life without it? I guess that I'm lucky that I am married so I can actually enjoy it. Although I have to admit, since I didn't marry until I was 23, the odds that I was a virgin in my marriage bed are pretty darn slim.
This gives a whole new meaning to let them eat cake, doesn't it? Enjoy life and I'm glad someone don't have a holier then thou attitude!!!! If sex were cake, I think I would want it to be chocolate with strawberries on top.Have a great day!

Sex is not only healthy, but it is healthy for you. Maybe she should read up on the health benefits to an active healthy sex life instead of being quite so prudish about it. If I wanted a stern lecture about it I would go to Church. Yes, It does give a whole new meaning to the phrase "Who wants cake?". My hand would be the first one raised! My favorite flavor? White cake with blue eyes and gray hair. Oop's, that doesn't describe cake does it? OK, I'll take white cake with this absolutely delicious filling that I make with cream cheese, fresh squeezed lemon, powdered sugar and heavy cream, plus a cream cheese frosting. Yummy! Way too good to resist!

With a Doctor too......................

Quote From: mylove33

I forgot to add on my pervious message that, as a matter of fact, my sex life with my fiance is way better then it was with my ex-husband who was only a year older then me..I think part of it is that my relationship with my fiance is filled with so much love and passion that it doesnt matter how good the actually sex part is..dont get me wrong about that, its amazing but thats not the point...My ex was so into making me someone I was/am not, that I could not put all of the love and passion into it. I can be completly me with my fiance and I love it...Even with all of my flaws or his, we love eachother unconditionaly.

Yes, that was one of the many instances that someone thought that I was my husbands daughter. We were at a new doctor for my husband and I hadn't gone to the first appt.. When his next appt. came around I went with him and after we were settled into his office, he began by telling us, "As I was telling your father", both of us, at the same exact moment said "She's my wife" & "He's my husband". The doctor was so embarrassed! We found it hilarious! Another time that really sticks out in my mind is when we were in San Diego buying me a new car. After we had picked it up we decided to hit the mall as I wanted to pick up a few things. As we were making our purchases, I saw a Dooney & Bourke key chain that I wanted to go with the new car. I was goofing around and asked my hubby "can I have this too?", which of course I could. Well, this older couple that were standing right next to us and had overheard the conversation, knew about the new car, and the man said "Children! They will break you if you if you let them, won't they?". He said it in a joking manner but truly believed that I was his daughter. My husband just played along and agreed with the man, he never let on that I was his wife. We laughed so hard when we got out of there!

As to our intimate life together? You hit it right on the nose! When you love someone that much, and you have that much trust in them, you can be your true self. It really makes all of the difference in the world. I had some serious relationships before I had met my husband and because they weren't the right man for me, although they were in fact very good relationships, I was never able to allow myself to just let go and be me. I always held something back. How good can that be? And then there are the bad relationships. There is no way on earth that a normal woman can have a great sex life with a man that she resents!

Unconditional love, the type that you would die for, that is what makes it so great. I have a saying that I tell younger people who have come to me for advice. "Married sex is the best sex that you will ever have". It's not that I have anything against having while you are single, that would be very hypocritical of me, but, it's so much better when you do find that right person. I don't know what else I can add to this since I think my statement sums it up best. But I will say again, do not care about the opinions of others as long as you are happy. That is all that matters in this world. Yes, there will be the fact that you could very well outlive your husband, I knew that going into my marriage, but it didn't prevent me from doing so. I would rather have what time I can with him than to have never had any time with him at all. I wouldn't change anything at all, and I have NEVER second guessed my decision. Wishing you the best,

Jewels

You are truly a wise woman. I know this is a "cliche" but I have to say it. "It is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all". I believe that! You could marry someone your exact age, "which I think you did", and live to be an old married couple into your 90's. But if he isn't the love of your life, then you have just wasted your life. Who would want to do that? Not me! I agree, true love is amazing!

07/18 The Cougar Craze

hello there,

To me I don't think it is right for woman to date older men.  Because he happen to me. I was with a guy for 21 years and he left me for a older woman. And I am havig a hard time dealing with it. I know i shouldn't because if you see this woman she is nothing to look at. It is hard for me to deal with it because he has no time for our son now. they were like to peas in a pod, but no more. He sees him once a week for one hour. I think that is so terrible. He has more time for her grandson than he does for his own son. And the storeis i heard about this woman makes me sick. And he looks so old now it is unbelieveable. She doesn't take care of him at all. He never looked like this when he was with me. And he hasn't cut his hair in 2 years since he has been with her. To me if you want a younger man make him look good for you but she doesn't.People can't believe want he did to me and my son.  And they are pissed at me him because he doesn't spend alot of time with his son. And it is the lies that he told to us just after he left . I wrote him a letter. And my friend talked to him on the street for 2 hours. He was crying and screaming. He can't believe that what was told me. and he told my friend that he was not happy and he misses us but he doesn't do nothing about it. He knows that i am very angry at him for what he did to us. But it is the things that were said to me. And the cranks calls all the time and they would tell me to leave him alone. but i don't do nothing to him. I stay home and mind my own business. I can't even call the house because i am not allowed the number. I have told him if anything happens to our son i am not chasing your family down to tell you. so you will never know. But she can call my house everytime he leaves the house. And she has called my house looking for him. I know I had done things for make him leave and I didn't know I was doing that to him. and I have told him that I was sorry for what to us and he still walked out. but he forgets all the stuff he did wrong and I took him because i love him. But he couldn't even give me a chance. that's why it hurts so much.

So to i think women should stick men to own age. I really don't like it at all. I see this on the street and it looks like they are going out with their mother. It is all about sex with these women. The older women think that it is great. because they are young. But you know what it doesn't last long. Because the men are going to leave after a  few years. But some women don't care. and I think a lot of men use these women to get what they want out of them. And they leave them when they had enough. or they think that they are getting older. So they move on and get a women their own age.

thank you for listening and reading,

Lori

I'm sorry for what has happened to you, but would it have felt any better if he left you for someone his own age or younger? Either way it hurts.

I don't have a big problem with the age thing. Half the time I can't tell how old most people are anyway.

I must admit I wouldn't be thrilled if my father or mother dated someone my age or younger and I wouldn't be too happy if my kids dated someone my age or older, but other than that I don't really care what the rest of the world does.

Older women/Younger men

I just recently ended a 13 year relationship with a man 17 years my junior.  I am 58, he is 41.  In the beginning, it was a wonderful relationship.  As time went on, I learned that he was a drug addict -- not a frequent user at that time.  As the years went on, however, his drug use and alcohol consumption became more and more frequent until at the end, it was daily usage.  Do I regret getting involved with a younger man?  Not at all.  We would have continued to get along famously had he not had the addictions.  Would I get involved with a younger man again?  If he was the right one -- absolutely.  I would be more careful about who I chose the next time.

I am 61 y/o, when I was 54, I met a younger guy at a singles dance... He had no idea how old I was and we dated for 4 months before I told him.. He never really asked.. We dated for 4 years.. He was not into drugs, never had tasted alcohol, went to church, never cussed, lived with his grandma, and was her only care giver.  She was 88 y/o when we met.. , he is still taking care of her.. She is totally dependent on him.   I finally realized grandma would always come first, and would probably outlive me, and so I moved on. He was 21 years younger than me, but an old soul.. I had been in a loveless marriage and had never known intimacy like I had with this guy.. I will cherish those memories forever, and would date another younger guy in a heartbeat.
