In a dramatic two-day series, Dr. Phil investigated allegations of child sexual abuse with a grandfather, his daughter and his grandson. Now, the family is back. Sherie-Lynn faces her father, Al, for the first time since his polygraph test indicated deception. She says she feels a weight has been lifted since the show, but she still wants him to admit that he molested her son. And, Sherie-Lynn’s mom, Elaine, says she believes her daughter and the polygraph, so why does she continue to live with Al? Plus, the horror and heartbreak within this family has taken its toll on Sherie-Lynn and Todd’s marriage. Are they headed for divorce court? Can this family in turmoil ever find peace and closure? Tell us what you think.

Find out what happened on the show.

I am Appalled

I cannot believe this mother is not being held accountable for her actions in leaving her son with a child molester. She is the only one who makes that decision for her son and she chose to leave him to be sexually abused. Shame on her and both she and her father should be in jail. They both disgust me!

I Cant believe some people....

I believe that the mother and grandmother have some fault in this child to be molested. You should never leave your child eith someone that YOU know is molesting children. I really hope they press charges against grandpa. He has said that he will have to face god and god know what he has done. But I dont believe he will EVER get to face god with his Sorry Ways... I fill mostly for that child his childhood has been taken from him.

I can certainly see why you are appalled at his mother, but believe it or not, her actions are not that uncommen.

I'm a survivor of sexual abuse myself. Although I would never let my children around this sick family member, it took me years to even confide in my husband or my parents about what had happened to me. After years of keeping my dark secret, I had a mental breakdown. Only then did I deal with the lifelong effects this had on me. When you've been molested there is a part of you that believes you are partly to blame. No matter how many times people tell you it's not your fault, you still don't believe it. My therapist told me to think of my daughter, who at the time was about the same age as when I was molested, she asked if I believed that my daughter could knowingly give consent to a sexual relationship. The light finally came on for me, because I know my daughter couldn't, so why did I expect at her age I was able to give consent.

It's very complicated. I just pray for this family and for this boy. His life has been permantly effected by the acts of his grandfather!

get real

Sherri-Lynn didn't only let Parker spend one night, he stayed there several nights while she was doing who knows what.  That was never discussed.  All of them should be charged with child abuse.  And Sherri-Lynn can quit with the hysterics.  What a drama queen.   I hope Dr. Phil has the guts to have Parker removed from the entire family.
I cant believe people are blaiming sherri-lynn. She has been through one night mare after another in her life. She finally deserves some peace. I am sure she never wanted to believe that her own father would do that to her son or that he really did that to her. Who would want to believe that? I just think the only blame belongs to that sick perverted grandpa and the wife who stood beside him and ignored it all, not sherri-lynn. She is not healthy and normal, because she never had a chance to be that way. We should pray for her healing and for her to have peace, not condemnation. Dr. Phil needs to send that perv straight to jail after the next show!!!

That thought came to my mind as well.  If she knew what her father was, why let her child stay with him? It was pretty obvious that grandmother was turning a blind eye.  The boy should be taken away from all of them and placed in a safe home.  This bunch is just rediculous!

However, it might be that the daughter was sooooo screwed up, she was willing to let anyone take care of her son.

The healing can now begin

I would 1st of all like to commend Sherie Lynn for coming forward with this terrible ordeal (to put it mildly).  Secrets destroy the very essense of who you are.  Thank God for Dr. Phil because her family will be able to get the necessary help and her son will be able to get the counselling he'll need.  Through this trauma you've also helped our family as we've had to deal with this terrible situation as well.  My husband had been molesting my beautiful 12 yr old daughter and through your pain my daughter can now see that even though our lives have changed and are a mess since the disclosure she can see that the price for not telling would have a been much higher.  My husband is in jail and we're waiting for counselling, but my daughter can start to heal and know that she'll be safe.  I feel so sad that the proper steps weren't taken to protect you as a young child and now as a mother your beautilful son was exposed to your worst nightmare.  Just remember that your story will touch millions and who knows how many children will come forward now or mom's be able to do the right thing.  Through your pain others will be healed or start healing.  So I just want to thank you and Dr. Phil of course because through this type of show other children will be safe.  I just urge every parent to talk to their children.  I never in my life thought this would happen in my family.  In the end you never really know anyone but always believe the children, we as Parents need to protect them regardless of the emotional or financial cost.  We need to stand up for our kids and be their advocate to step up to the plate for them.  They need to know we'll be there for them regardless.  God Bless to All and protect the children.

predators hiding behind the bible

i am sickened that the old man would hide behind the bible of faith.  IF he is truely faith-bound, then he must make amends, SORRY"S don't count.  He can not undo what has been done, but he can start the healing process for OTHERS when he ownes up to the horrible things done by him.  AND to NEVER be aroung children again!  He could also pay for the years of therapy needed by this young 12 year old boy.  This old man does not get it.  It is NOT about himself, it is about OTHERS.  He should be willing to go to the ends of the earth for them, even if that means a divorce from his wife and estrangement from his family and community.  This show should teach those of us who think church is a safe place to let children roam free....it is not.  It is a place where predators lurk, just like this old man.  Remember the serial killer BTK?  He was a father, husband and deacon in the church!  They do get caught but at the price of others.  Please be careful and know where your children are at all times.  And if i had children, i would teach them the latest techniques to protect themselves either by strangers or people they know and trust.

05/21 Grandpa Returns: The Aftermath

What is up with the Grandma? She's still with him? In a way I find that even more disgusting...I'll tell you why.

I was molested by my half brother when I was a toddler.  He was kicked out...blah blah blah...when I was 12 my parents decided it was a great idea to have him move back to our neighborhood and live near us, interact with us.

That betrayal hurt me MORE than the molestation itself. It lead to feelings of worthlessness and pain. (Mixed with a lot of other issues...I wasn't shown a lot of love and I was intimidated as a way of punishment.)

Anyway...that betrayal has made me ill...depressed and self loathing.

I agree.... I also wonder where in the heck the mother's head is..... she's enabling his behavior by staying with him.  He's a liar and a predator..... the mother should leave  him and he should be carted off to jail for the remainder of his miserable lying life.

Yes I agree too this grandpa is dishonor in this family he must put in jail and all your family leaving him.

this man doesn't deserve the mercy.
