And, Lin says her daughter-in-law, Rebecca, needs to back off when it comes to making comments about her weight. Rebecca says if she doesn’t stir things up, Lin will be overweight forever, but could her comments about her mother-in-law have an affect on her daughter? Plus, Jill despises her body so much, she hasn’t undressed in front of her husband, Don, in 15 years. Don’t miss the surprise Dr. Phil has in store for Jill! Hi Kay!.... I would LOVE  to keep in touch. How do we exchange e-mail addresses w/o listing them on this site? Let me know if you have any ideas. I think it would be terrific to be able to support one another, esp. since we have several common bonds! Thanks for your encouragement about my weight and being healthy. I'm struggling right now. I just found out I have a tear in my L-5 and the beginnings of a herniated disk. I haven't been able to run , which is how I lost a lot of the weight in the first place... so I've gained about 15 lbs from my ideal weight. I'm having a hard time juggling only being able to ride a bike for exercise right now, and feeling bad because I can't exercise like I need to, so I've been eating more and more and that's how I've gained the weight. I think  I need to pick up the 7 keys to Weightloss again and go back to why I eat and go from there. When I'm feeling powerless or bored, I eat.

Anyway, you look so fantastic, it's so hard to believe that you were that person in the 'before' pic! I would NEVER have believed it! That's a huge, huge accomplishment, and I'm so proud of you. All of you! You look amazing and I'm so glad we were able to get to meet you all. Keep up the good work!   Pam

Pam,

My old email address which I no longer use, but is still active, is apoopedmom@nuwavenet.com.  Email me your email address there and then when I get your email address, I will email you my new email adress and then we can keep in touch.  I'm excited to get to keep in touch with you.  I think you have accomplished so much and you should be so proud of yourself.  I'll talk to you soon and I'll start checking my old email address.

I just want to congratulate those women who lost all that weight. I've struggled with obesity all my life. I'm not able to excercise myself do to having so much pain.

After having been hit by a car 4 years ago, my pain often precludes me from doing any kind of a serious

workout.  I would love to have Doctor Phil consider doing a show that helps persons just like us!!!!

I wonder if he or his staff have ever thought about it?

..... and I have worked in fashion retail for a long time.   The price hike for larger sizes is due to the increased amount of fabric used versus the smaller sizes.
I'd hardly consider myself, with a 36D bust, a larger size. My measurements are 36-28-38. Size 8, according to most size charts. It doesn't take that much more fabric to cover a D-cup breast than it does to cover an A-cup.

Velvet you are not no one.   Everyone is someone and so are you.  First stop with the diets.  It will just drive you mad.  To be a smaller person you have to eat like one.  People who keep their same low weight their whole lives don't diet.  They just eat sensibly and so can you.  Start by reading package labels for the calories (if you don't already), then stick with no more than 1500 calories a day.  Every day.  For years.  You can't do it for 6mo's or a year then stop.  It's forever, a complete lifestyle *change*.  You can't go back to old ways.  You have to make up your mind, I'm not living that life anymore, I'm beginning a new one.  One that makes me happy, because the one I'm living now isn't working for me.   Yes you'll cheat, everyone does, but the next meal do better.  If you cheat again, move on, do better the *next* meal.  Cheating doesn't mean it's over, it's just a bump in the road.   However too many bumps and you're right back to living your old life.   If you listen to your overweight friends or take their advice you'll never be smaller.  In fact odds are they won't even want to be your friend when your smaller.   They want you to stay there with them and complain and feel sorry for yourselves.  Take the advice of a heathy person, what are they eating, what are they doing?  Watch *them*.   Lean people are not lean because they're *lucky*.  They're doing something to stay there.  And not every skinny girl is sticking her fingers down her throat or starving herself.  I think this is an assumption overweight women may have or maybe they just tell themselves that to justify their own position (not saying you are).   My mom is 70yrs old.  I finally talked her into weight bearing exercises and she shed 30lbs, bringing her to a healthy weight of 130lbs.   She did it on her own, I did not workout with her and she's single.   She either does weight watchers meals or counts her own calories.    She eats at restaurants too, but if she cheats she gets right back on track the following morning, so no real harm is done.  Giving up is not an option.  You live a new and different life.  You don't do nutty diets.    I'm 48yrs old and I'm still small, because I live a healthy life.  You can do the same.  You can't control getting wrinkles, aging or a man leaving you, but you can control your weight.  People do it everyday, you can too.  Don't be done on yourself, you matter.  No more bad thoughts in your head on positive ones.  Get busy with your new and better life and start today.

Velvet, I have been where you are and I feel your pain.  I was at a place where I either made a change in my life and lost this weight or I knew that my days on earth were numbered because I simply did not want to live like this any longer.  I had been hurt in very bad fall and my life took a drastic change, I had to give up my career and because I wasn't able to walk for nearly a year I had gained 200lbs.  I became everything that I never wanted to be.  My world was very dark and I faught each day just to survive, I had a greater wish to die than to live.

I found the right place for me to go, a combination of natural paths and medical Doctors.  They held me up when I was ready to fall and gave me hope that I would succeed.  Since April 3rd I have lost 100lbs and I am half way to where I need to be.  I am happy and healthy and full of life that I had so lost.  DO NOT GIVE UP!  Find the place you need to be, money was a hard ship for me but I knew that I would die if I didn't find my place.  Read Dr. Phil's book, talk talk talk talk to everyone that you can .... take hold of my hand and gather some strength, I know that you can do it, just do it healthy .... eat 3 meals a day, only eat what is good for you...YOU KNOW THE WAY, you only have to own that you eat all the wrong stuff, the wrong way. It all starts with just one small change, start today, don't drink that soda, or eat that bag of chips .... you can succeed, trust me!  Be proud of every pound that you lose think of the wagon you are pulling with 10lb bags of potatoes in it, keep on adding to the wagon as you lose,...I have 10 in my wagon and you can too. I wish you strength, to do what you must, you are able to, you only need to believe.!

Surgery is not always the answer

I have also struggled and went as far as to have gastric bypass and now years after being cut almost half into and then went from size 28 to 14 but didn't have the money to have all the skin removed(which looks horrible). I think it was better before because the fat was at least tight before surgery so Now, I am fat again. I know I have to make drastic changes but do not have the money to get the training and education that I know it will take to be successful. I am so proud of all of you who have beaten the odds and now have the healthy lifestyle I so desperately want. Pray for me and keep up the good work. I do remain hopeful that one day I will be among you.

08/22 Beach Body Bootcamp

I find the whole getting a personal trainer thing or going to the gym really ridiculous.  Do you know how many of your viewers could not possibly afford that?  I am still paying off loans that I took out to put my kids through school.  Every cent counts.  I used to walk a lot, but then some weird thing happened with my feet, which makes walking very painful, though I haven't stopped, but certainly had to slow down.  I have a great deal of respect for you, Dr. Phil, but, sometimes, it seems that you have "gone Hollywood" in many of the things you suggest.

Cellulite??

This show was great, and I heard a quick mention about a procedure that helps with cellulite?  Can you, please advise what it was again?  I don't expect perfection from any procedure...I'm happy with "better"!

And, for the buck, what's best face/skin rejuvenation procedure?  Dermabrasion?

Thanks.

Sore feet and gyms

Singon, if your arches hurt in the morning it's probably plantar fasitis. If my weight goes over a certain number, it over works my arches and the only thing that helps is to lose a few pounds.

Don't think you absolutely must join a gym. I've lost 30 pounds since February, primarily by doing a 45 minute "in home" walking DVD. Even though the one I bought had three workouts and included a set of round weights, it still cost under $20.

I have belonged to a gym and I found that the drive to and from was worse than the work-out! More stressful and took more time. There's nothing as convenient as getting up in the morning, popping that DVD in and getting your work-out over with before the day, and all it's problems, get started.

I was hoping to hear from the women on the orriginal show last May. How are you ladies doing?
