Dr. Phil’s team of medical experts are back to answer any and every medical question! These four physicians with four different medical specialties are armed with an endless warehouse of health information. First up, the medical dream team weighs in on controversial headlines from uterus transplants to water intoxication. Next, Judith says she suffers from Morgellons, a mysterious disease that causes painful lesions on the skin. Judith is frustrated because she’s had Morgellons for 10 years but says doctors tell her it’s all in her head. What does Dr. Phil think? Then, Dorine says her life has been unbearable ever since her uterus dropped out two years ago. She says she can’t exercise, go to the beach or even have sex because of her condition. Is surgery the only answer? And, Samantha went in for simple breast implants but says she became a plastic surgery nightmare. In the past three years, she’s had four implants and 16 surgeries to correct what is now a deformed right breast. What can Samantha do to move forward with her life? Plus, Dr. Phil answers viewers’ most embarrassing questions. Talk about the show here.

Glad to see show on Morgellon's

I am looking forward to the show about Morgellon's.  My brother in law claims to have this disease? syndrome?  My wifes brother started having problems about a year and a half ago when he started seeing a lady that claimed to have 'bugs'.  His daughter called 911, because he claimed to have 'worms' in his ears, was seeing all manner of vermin in his room and on his clothes, and claimed his living area was infested with mice, strange looking bugs and other kinds of vermin.  Since then he has seen several doctors, including dermatologists, and none have found a problem.  His uncle, who he lives with, has had the house checked several times, and exterminators have been called in who found no evidence of any infestations.  After going through times of claiming to have this of that disease, or different kinds of bug infestations, he and his lady friend discovered Morgellons, and have since decided to not see each other since she felt they were 're-infecting' each other. This has seriously affected my brother in laws relationship with his family.  He will let no one ride in his car, he will not hug family members, at family gatherings he does not get to near anyone, he has lost 30 pounds (he is 5'6"), now weighing about 135-140. He is a very stand up guy, no indication of drug use, hard worker, does not drink, and is a very loving and caring dad to his children.  This has changed his life, and everyones relationships with him.  I sure hope Dr. Phil can point us in the right direction to help him.

Skin Disorder

I have been reading the messages about this skin disorder and I have to share that for 14 years I have suffered with embarrassing itchy arms,legs and shoulders. I am a 47 year old woman and I have literally thousands of scars. I have seen probably 6 specialists in Ontario,Can. and I have had not one explaination for this skin disorder. Some doctors mentioned "stress" and possibly "self mutilation". I can assure you there is nothing wrong with my brain and I certainly wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy....I don't know what causes the itching, I have never heard of Morgellons, I don't feel the itching 24/7 , it comes and goes....I don't think Morgellons is what this is?

 I'd like to know if there is any type of procedure to remove the scars? I can't leave the house without covering myself up because strangers will ask me what happened to my arms. In 90f weather...I wear long sleeves.  If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks so much....from Canada.

Medical Question

Dr. Phil:  I have had stomach stapling (1982), and it did not work. $10,000 gone down the drain.  I need to lose 150 lbs. My question is:  After having stomach stapling, can I now have surgery for the "Stomach Belt Band"?  I have written before to ask for your help, without any success.  I am now asking again to please tell me what I can do or help me in some small way to lose this weight.  I have a strong heart, but a weak willpower. But I know if you would offer any help, I would stick to whatever you had to say.  This is probably my last chance, as I am 69 years "young".  I would love to lose this weight for myself only, as I do not have a mate. I think that's why I don't have one.  No one wants a big, fat, old woman.  Hopefully, you will answer my prayers, as I do pray each day that you will.  Sincerly, Jeanette Durden

A Show for the Elderly

Dr. Phil:  I also wanted to say that I don't think I've ever seen a show for the
elderly on losing weight.  I think it would be a wonderful and enjoyable show. And I hope

I can be on it.  Please see my 1st message I sent today. Thanks again, Jeanette Durden

San Fillippo Syndrome

I have 2 adult children, they are both terminally ill with a rare genetic disease called San Fillippo Syndrome.  Both are unaware of their surroundings and have been professionally cared for since they were 4 & 5 years old.  They are now 39 and 40.  My concern is that my son was recently diagnosed as having tendinitis in his left arm and seems to be in some discomfort, so the doctors are considering cortisone shots which I feel are not necessary and could hurt him more than the actual tendinitis.  He cannot tell us how bad the pain is, so how do they know that this is absolutely necessary?  What other treatment could be offered to him?  Since he doesn't use his arm except as an involuntary reflex why put him through more unnecessary pain?  Also how can they keep his arm from moving, after the shot, which I understand is necessary to prevent further damage?  A.

Medical problems

First,I've had Periodontitis for about 24 years now.My teeth are very sensit'ive and I have tooth aches alot.My gums bleed sometimes.The last time I went to the dentist they had to stop cleaning my teeth because it was very painful.At that point the dentist said that my teeth need to come out and that I need dentures.That was 5 years ago.Well it didn't happen because I don't have insurance and I don't have that kind of money.I heard that if untreated that periodontitis can lead to heart problems.Is this true ?Also,I was watching the show,and my mother has had sores from head to toe for about 15 years now and the doctors are clueless as to why she has them.I'm wondering if she may have what that other lady has ?

On Morgellons

Quote From: nonick

I have heard of cases of Morgellons where the physicians actually had their patients sent to psychologists for psychological evaluation, and worse!  Those doctors should read up on the condition, instead of relegating the sufferers to medical abuse.

As a nurse/investigator I can tell you that it definitely exists.

Tell those doctor that, if Morgellons were all in your head that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control would not have a wealth of information about the condition on their website;

Although it is a dermatological condition of unknown cause, they have confirmed cases of the condition.

Centers for Disease Control info about Morgellons;

http://www.cdc.gov/unexplaineddermopathy/general_info.html

Investigation into cause of Morgellons.

http://www.cdc.gov/unexplaineddermopathy/investigation.html

I have had symptoms of what is called Morgellons, or Unexplained Dermopathy, for about seven years. For the first five or so, I did not know what it was, but my symptomology is well documented in several physicians office visit notes, and in pictures. I first heard of the name Morgellons on CNN when Dr. Sanjay Gupta was speaking of the fibers coming out of lesions on the skin. This was around August, 2006. By January 2007, I was a me mber of the Morgellon Research Foundation's Nursing Board, and actively seeking answers via information and through treatment, as well as trying to help others with this condition. There is so much to know now. There is hope. I sincerely urge anyone who thinks they or a loved one might have this condition to follow this through the internet, which is now replete with information. There will be many theories and many suggestions for treatment. The most solid physicians I know are with the MRF and the online protocol of Dr. Susan Kolb. She generously offers her collective suggestions online. She also has a weekly radio show called Temple of Health, which can be accessed through RadioSandySprings. On that show, there are two interviews with Dr. Hildegard Staninger, one in March and the other in May of this year. Those provide the best scientific information that I know of. Erin Brockovich also has an entry on her web site called Morgellons: Reality Bites from February of this year, and there are many informative blogs on this site.

THANK YOU DR. PHIL FOR HAVING THIS ON YOUR SHOW! Please continue to help us.

"The new modern plague"

To everyone reading this, please spread the word around! It's called "MORGELLONS" and it is as real as real gets! I know this 1st hand because I've had it for approx.4 yrs now. I do understand the doubt,disbelief, and hesitation from the outside looking in, but that's enough! The CDC,physicians,scientists,government need to wake up and finally smell the roses! I am not crazy,delusional,self mutilating, or psychotic by any means! I am a 32 yr old divorced, single, mother of 2 awesome boys and a nurse of 7yrs! I am appalled,confused,and extremely concerned of the lack of justice so to speak of "Our great nation under God, indivisible to liberty......And justice for ALL!!!! FOR ALL!!!!!The money spent to disprove and misdiagnose those inflicted with this horrific, disfiguring, slow self -destruction, and from my gathering,highly contagious(possibly through certain blood type or genetic make-up) disease. This is so awful for anyone who has it and unexplainable to endure.I use to be so pretty ans was complimented on my features, now that is gone, but the worst part to fathom is to watch my precious son start to go Through it as well! I tried to tell an ER physician ,but was completely ignored on the whole topic. Now, I've done alot of research and until it is recognized by CDC and the public eye it is useless to go try to get help. My life has steadily deteriorated! I am 24/7 in pain,embarrassed by my appearance, and now without a job due to pain and the unwillingness to spread to others. I recently lost custody of my babies because now I am homeless and the transmission just went out in my car! All I possess now is the love for my boys and hope and faith in GOD to be able to receive treatment so I can turn my life around. I can't get help from the state without a proper diagnosis. So, this goes out to the people that this disease has inflicted..'Keep faith alive,help one another pray for justice together we can make it happen please spread the knowledge to the unknown!' Please if anyone knows what I need to do or can help me and my darling angels, show me the way! Thank you Judith and Dr. Phil and his staff for letting me express my hidden nightmare!  Sincerely,

                Teri of AZ

Uterine transplant

Dear Dr. Phil

I was born with two uteris' and two cervix's. I often wondered in my past 55 years if I could ever transplant one of them to someone who needed it. They reply was always if its not broke dont fix it, because they thought it would be a hysterectomy. I have not gone through menopause yet, I also have PCOS, but I wonder; would mine still be viable to transplant.

gochi juice

I have had people try Himalayan Gochi Juice for a number of ailments and many have had amazing results.  Maybe this would help the lady who had the virus that caused sores with fibers in them.  Carole
