Another Fluffy Granny

Quote From: caityjae1

I HAVE STRUGGLED MOST OF MY LIFE WITH MY WEIGHT, AND NOW IT IS AFFECTING NOT ONLY ME AND MY HEALTH, BUT THAT OF MY CHILDREN.  I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON LOSING FOR OVER A YEAR NOW, WITH SOME SMALL SUCCESS, BUT I REALLY FEEL THE NEED FOR SOME GOOD SUPPORT.  I JUST CAN'T DO IT ALONE ANYMORE.  I AM JUST AN EMOTIONAL EATER I GUESS, OR AN UNCONSCIOUS ONE.  I JUST SEEM TO EAT, NO MATTER HOW I FEEL.  I NEED SOME HELP, SO MAYBE WE CAN HELP ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER.

Hi,

I can really relate to your message.  I have suffered with depression and weight issues for many years.  I'm happy to say that the depression is under control thanks to medication.  Now if I can just get my act together and work on my health.  I'm looking for support and inspiration through this medium.  In return, I will pass on my encouragement and successes in hope of helping others with the same goal.  All the best to you!

Tough Road

Quote From: linda70

Hello My name is Linda .I weigh 248 pounds. I was 280.   I was doing good. But my weight lost kind of stalled out at the 248 mark. (Sad face) My goal is to be 150. half the weight I am now. I am tired of people

teaseing me. I got tease the whole way through school from 2nd grade and stil going. I basicly get teased from my aunt .She has  no room to talk her son is close to 400 lbs himself. I also get critazides by my own doctor(And that is bad .If anyone he is the one I should have my life depended on. I hate that they say this to me,It's like I don't know it already. Atleast I'm trying to do something. I'm trying to drink more water, I hardly ever eat sweets. It's the soda that gets me I think, because I hardly ever eat. I so wish I could lose weight and keep it off. Maybe I would feel alot better then I  do now.

Hi,

I felt sadness as I read your message.  It's very diffucult to measure up to other peoples expectations.  People who criticize others are needing help themselves.  Often they are lacking self-confidence, and tear other people down to build themselves up.  Sometimes you have to be your own best friend!  I plan to compose and recite a positive message for myself, which I will repeat each morning and whenever I feel weakened.  For example, I might repeat to myself " I am worh it, and I can do it, so get 'er done."  There is going to be and is now, some inspiring messages to read.  So stay tuned  and we will all help one another reach our goals.

My name is Tiffany and I am 5'4, 215lbs, and  22 years old.  I have had 3 strokes and heart surgery all in 2008.  I had a blood clot on my mitrel valve, and I had to have heart surgery to remove the blood clot .  They had to go in and replace my valve with another tissue valve.  I also had excessive spinel fluid that they had to go in an do a spinel tap.  I had 3 times the amount of fluid on my brain that I wasn't suspose to have.  This has a medical term for what is causing the fluid, but I can't really think of the name right now.    It is weight sensitive and once I recovered from everything I was told I have to lose about 85lbs.  I am now on a fluid pill for my excessive fluid, and if I don't get to a healthy weight I could possibily have kidney failure from taking the medicine.  I to also have thyroid disease, and I seem to blame my weight on that.  I am now taking 5 different medications since my heart surgery and strokes.  If I lose the weight I then can go off of my fluid pills.  I have to get to a healthy weight for me and my heart!

Hey!  I so feel the way you do.  I need help 2.  I to have had a stroke.  Not just 1, but 3.  I have some weakness on my left side, but I am working everyday trying to go to the gym and get more strong on my left side.  It is definitely a struggle when something like that has happened to you.  It makes it so much harder to get up and go everyday.  But as the saying goes... "What don't kill us only make us STRONGER!"

I'm so glad that Dr. Phil is doing  a WLC. I loved looking forward to the shows and I lost 135 lbs with the two wlc shows.  After Staying Alive in 2005 , I had to deal with three deaths of people close to me.(my best girlfriend, my boss and my father-in-law) and many set backs on knees and feet and some other health issues. I thought I had overcome my emotional eating.  Not!!  I started putting others first again and not making myself # 1.  Here it is 3 1/2 years later and I've gained 80 % of it back!!  I can't believe that I allow this to happened. I've been gearing up to do this again and On Monday I started.  I weight  269. Huh!!!! Now is the time to put this behind me, for "This is the first day of a new beginning that will change my life."  I know the 7 keys work because I've done it.  Just want you to know that all you need is the book, and you can accomplish anything. I'm hoping to get some support from this site and I would love to email others  I figure I have 109lbs to lose and my goal is to be at 160 lbs.  You can email me pegmeg@sbceo.org. We can all do this and I look forward to reading all your posts.  I'm so sad as Dr. Phil Amazing Weigh Loss Race didn't come on.  They are behind one day because of Tennis!!!!!!  I will watch it tomorrow.

All for now

Peggy

Hi, I can relate to you with losing 130 lbs.,almost 4 years ago. I thought I had mind set in the right direction but as the years have come and gone,I now realize I have some internal problems that need to be worked on,in order for me to be at an ideal weight and not let food be my enemy. I so need to lose at least 100 lbs.,but really would like to lose more then that. I need support from others that can relate to what its like to be heavy and how some people relate to you. I saw that when I lost the weight before. I have the books dr.phil talks about, but usual I can find other reasons not to read through them or to really get my mind set on what he is talking about. I sure could use the help of others and like a few others on here this message board am really new to this (to be honest I have never done this before and it took me so long to figure out how to get to this point. so i hope it works out for me and others to get some good support and gain a few freindships down the road.) good luck to everyone and I also am here to hear from anyone who needs a parnter in this new adventure. Debbie

Ready to Start

I saw the show today and I have been stuck on key # 4 and watching the show today made me realize I need to finish what I started and I need to lose 100+ lbs.  My family history of cancer (brain, prostate, leukemia & breast), heart disease, stroke, hight blood pressure and high cholesterol, Lung diseases( Pulmonary Fibrosis and Emphysema) have me worried because I want to live to see my 2yr old son grow up and graduate high school, college and I want to see him get married and see my grandchildren.  I am 42 yrs old. I am under lots of pressure and very stressed out caring for my elderly father who has the majority of illnesses I just listed above. On October 2nd I will be having surgery to repair a hernia in my stomach and the surgeon said  he will do the surgery but I need to loose weight as well because he does not want me to have to go through the surgery again.

No Worries

Quote From: daredes

I am not sure what I am supposed to do.  Are we going to get specific instructions from someone on the show as to what to do and when?  Or are we supposed to wing it by the book?  I currently weigh 235 lbs and need to be at or around 150 lbs, I know that's less than 100lbs, but it's more than 50lbs, and I think closer to 100, so here I am.  Where do I go from here?

This is all very new to all of us.  Today is the first day on the board and everyone is joining and getting to know each other.  There are no rules.  Yet.  Might not be.  Dr. Phil is sly like that though!!!  LOLLLLL

Keep watching Dr. Phil as the Race continues.  I'm sure some instruction will be divulged later.  If not, we'll self govern/police/motivate/do whatever it takes to support each other and WIN THIS RACE!!!!

First thing, get Dr. Phil's "The Ultimate Weight Loss Solution" and read it.  Work the 7 Keys, prepare yourself.  Purge your pantry, drink your water... have to make a plan and work it.  We are here for support and to help through the tough times, of which there will be many... this is a journey, not a destination.  This is a life long life style change.  After we meet goal, there will be maintenance.....

Today is the first day on the journey.  Hang with us!!!!  We'll get there!!!!!

Patti
