We are in this together!

Quote From: tynesha24

I'm a 24 year old wife of five years and mother of 2, ages 5,1. I'm obese and need to make change. I'm so grateful to have my family and friends and I know God has greatness inside of me. I want to remove this excess weight so that I may be able to enjoy my life.I'm very active always on the go, and my weight is slowing me down and making feel lazy. I want to able to run in the park with my kids or hubby and not feel like I'm going to pay for it later.I want be able to sing to th glory of God and not feel like i have nothing left when I sit down, winded.I'm here for support to get this done.Food is my best friend. I was raised to eat until your full and about explode.Eat when your angry, sad, or just plain bored. I recognize the problem and want the help.If anyone has been where I've been please help me. I have walk away the pounds to get me started and am lost on eating healthy, mainly because I purchase what's on sale in the grocery store. I also have PCOS and it is of extreme importance that i get healthy. I know that signing is the first step toward, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. God bless you all!

I was glad to see another 24 year old on here.  I am right where you are.  We are too young and have spend too much of our lives not being healthy.  I know that you can do it.  I will be praying for you.  God is my strength and I know that I need to turn to HIM and not to food for comfort.

As far as eating healthy, that is what I need to learn, but I can tell you to eat throughout the day.  Stock your fridge with fruits and grill LOTS of chicken.  Drink lots of water and concentrate on only a few habits to start incorporating.  DON'T BURN YOURSELF OUT!  Make lasting changes and spend time developing healthy habits that will stay with you for your lifetime.  We don't need to lose this weight only to gain it back and have to battle it when we are 34, 44, 54, 64, etc.........

(A little about me and singing:  I hate making my own food so much that I even made up a song that I sing when I have to make a sandwhich!)

Hi Christina, my name is Natasha and I'm 35 yrs old. I, too, have to loose over 100lbs. I, too, am starting today. I don't have a lot of health problems, as of yet, however there are some things that have started. One very important one right now is my lower back and hips. They are, as we speak, completely out of whack and I'm in a lot of pain. However, I'm on the right track to fix it and also my weight.
I am very interested in finding someone to email and share this journey with. I don't know if you would be interested in that. Just let me know.
I know we can do this and be successful at it. Best of luck to you and your journey! :)

The Time Is Now

Hi my name is Susanne.  I am 48 years old, I'll be 49 in December.  I am the divorced mother of 2 grown children. I have a job I sometimes love and sometimes hate.  I am on my feet 8 hours a day and my job is pretty physical. My weight fluctuates between 300-305 pounds.  I want to be a much healthier person by the time I'm 50 next year.

I haven't always had weight issues.  I used to be at a healthy weight, although I thought I was fat.  I had 5 sisters who made it their mission in life to convince me of that.  After I got married my husband continuously told me I needed to lose weight to make me happier.  At the time I was 142 pounds at 5'6".  How I would like to see that now!

I gained a lot of weight with my first pregnancy, not a lot with my 2nd, and  lost most of it.  Then the marital problems started and I gained up to 320 pounds.  Well the marriage ended, but the weight problems didn't.  I don't see why now that I don't have to deal with any of that anymore, I can't seem to get the weight off.  Yes, I've lost 20 pounds and I am so thankful to God that I have.  I am determined to get myself back into my "fighting" shape.

Last August, one of my daughters blessed me with a beautiful grandson.  I want to be able to see him grow up and right now in my shape I am scared that won't happen unless I do what I know I've needed  to do for a while now.  Get off my butt and get going.

I bought Dr. Phil's Ultimate Weight Loss Solution a while back and read it, but didn't put it into practice.  I watched his show , choosing his teams--wish it could be me, but I am going to do it with them.  I am here for support and to give it when I can.  My 2 daughters support me and I know this time I can be successful.

I know I am worth it and I will take the time for myself.  Positive affirmations because I haven't always believed it.  ;-)

Susanne

Tired of feeling tired

Hello,  I am a 38-year old mom and I am tired of being fat. I have five children from ages 7 to 18 and I am earning a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Sciences. I have been married for almost 20 years. I should feel fulfilled because I am proud of these accomplishments. I know that my negative feelings revolve around my weight. I feel like a real failure. In addition, I have had Multiple Sclerosis for about 10 years and have real issues with energy levels and muscle loss. I really feel trapped. I hope and pray that this program can kickstart me into a positive change. I sat and cried during the show that introduced the weight-loss race teams today. I do think that I am ready to take these important steps.

Anyone who may have some encouraging words or advice that might help me stay motivated--please--I need some real support in this. Thanks!

This is your time, kiddo. One step at a time, one little tiny chnage at a time. Be kind to yourself, treat yourself with love and encouragement like you would treat your children.  You are a precious child of God and you are doing this for yourself, your children, and to make a better healthier life for you all.  Forgive your mistakes and missteps and persevere.  You can do it!
