Hi Everyone

Well here I go again, but this time I have to do it to save my life.  I need to loose 100 pounds, and I need to apply all the knowlege and tools that I have accumulated for the last 50 years.  I am now 51 and ready to make big changes and get this weight off once and for all.  I am somewhat limited in my physical strength and mobility, which is another problem (not an excuse).  I will find ways to excercise.

Right now, I am going on an 14 day alaskan cruise and do not want to come back needing to loose even more.  I need to be held accountable.  I will report back what my weight LOSS will be after the cruise.

Thank you for this support.

Quote From: suecandoit

I am 100 pounds over weight and I need to get off my %$ and get going.

I am not getting any younger soon to be 50 and I'm tired of being fat.

I am tired of being alone and I know I will never find someone special

till I loose the weight and learn how to keep it off.

Since menapause I have found it so much harder to lose.

HELP

I think I could have wrote this myself.  I'm 51 and ditto.  We know what to do, lets make this a different year.

You are not alone

Quote From: momtotwoteens

Hi, my name is Donna.  I need to lose over 100 pounds.  I am 49, with 2 boys and am pre-diabetic now and am scared that it will become full blown diabetes.  I currently have no support from my family and was wondering if anyone is interested in emailing back and forth a few times a week.  I am not sure if I can do this by myself.

Hi, Donna, my name is Cynthia.  You are not alone, I am 48 with 2 kids.  My youngest is a freshman at college, so I am a empty nester for the 1st time, being a single mother that is lonely feeling.  We can be  weight loss buddies.  I am pre-diabetic too and also have high blood pressure.  I have knee and back problems.  I have support, but you know you always wonder if they really understand.  It would be nice to have someone to converse with.

Today was an extreemly difficult day at work. I am in such a terrible amount of physical pain from all this weight I am dragging around with me all the time. I just want to cry. I did very well with my eatting today, and do feel good about that. I am 5 foot 4 and weigh 247 pounds. :0(

Years ago, I lost 100 pounds. I kept it off for about four years and then eventually slacked off on my exercise and self control and here I am again. But I am not defeated, I know I can do this and that I must do this or I may have a heart attack ..... I feel like I'm on the verdge of it all the time. I want to be able to come here and say how I really feel, no pretence. I want to read how others are doing and be encouraged by it and feel friendship. I wish everyone here great health and success. Hugs to you all. :0)

Hi Tanya

Quote From: sunshine4u

 Hi Everyone!

Do I really want to do this? Yes I do!  Can I do this? Yes I can!  My name is Tanya and I'm 60 years old.  I've been on yo-yo diets all my life with the exception of about 10 years when my weight was holding it's own.  However, during that time I was very active; chasing two little kids all day, doing chores, and etc which gave me plenty of exercise to work off the calories.  As years went by, sitting at a desk job didn't help.  Being in management, the stress can really have a negative impact on your routine.  By the time you get home from work, fix dinner, help kids with homework etc, you're so tired you just want to sit.  "There goes the calorie burning portion right out the window".  Year after year, you gain weight.  Had I corrected the situation early on, I wouldn't be where I am today.  Recently I experienced some heart fibulations which really scared me.  Now I'm taking 3 types of medicines to control it and also to prevent heart attack or stroke.  The good news is everything is under control, but now I must take one of these medicines the rest of my life.  Coumadine is a blood thinner and once you start this type of treatment there's no going without it for fear of blood clotting in the arteries.  Yesterday I watched Dr. Phil's show and a comment he made hit home.  "Within the next year you can lose 100 lbs.  You can either take charge of your life and make that change or you can stay unhealthy.  What's a year."  I'm taking charge now and with his and all of your support, I'm going to be one of those people who can stand up and proudly say, "I lost 107 lbs with the Dr. Phil Weight Lose Challenge!"  Good luck to all of you and may we all become healthier, happy people!

Tanya

We're about the same age!  I have 109 lbs to lose. I have a stressful job too and I can relate to coming home and just sitting.  We're tried. You can do this!  We are all going to be healthy and look good next year.  Have a great weekend.  Hopefully full of rest and exercise. I always feel so much better when I exercise.

Peggy
