Looking for encouragement

I am 47 yr old mother of three, grandmother of four.  I need to lose 50 pounds.  I can't seem to lose the weight.  I had my stomach stapled 21 years ago and It all came back.  I am not motivated to exercise.  I am looking for some encouragement and suggestions.  I have just started Dr. Phil's book.  It is so hard to do this on my own.  My family is very supportive, but I need someone that understands.   Please email me @ theresasummers@cableone.net

I'll be your email buddy

I saw the Dr.Phil show the other night, and that helped me to get even more
motivated. I am doing Weight Watchers and exercising at Curves. It's going to
be along road ahead of me, but I've made myself look at it as, ...take it one day at
a time. If I mess up, don't beat myself up, just keep on going forward.
Like Dr. Phil said, another year can pass us up or we can do something this
year and at the end of it be proud of ourselves. WE all have to do this for our Health.
I'm here if anyone needs an email buddy, I know I sure could use one. It will help us
all.
Melanie

Hi Melanie

I saw the Dr. Phil show too on Wednesday when he was starting his newest weight loss challenge.  I am also 55 and have over 100 lbs. to lose.  I decided tonight since my husband was working I would go into the Dr. Phil website and see what information I could find regarding the message boards and the challenge.  I too just posted for my first time and am looking for an email buddy to keep motivated with.  I have tried so many things in the past and I just have to do this or I know I am going to die.  I have diabetes, coronary artery disease, hight blood pressure, 2 knee replacements and my knees and feet hurt so bad I can hardly walk most days.  I am so happy I saw your message and I hope we can be support buddies.

Hi Judy,

I would love to work together as I really need the support also and we are the same age and about the same weight and same dibetes problem. I am really determined to get off all the medication and lose 100 lbs. I know we can do this.

Hi, You didn't give me your name, but thanks for replying to my post.  If you want to contact me by email it is claybrook-judy@att.net.  I look forward to hearing from you.  I really want to do this.  I don't want to go back on any diabetes medication, but my doctor is about to have a fit. She is gonna have to see some success in my weight loss and test results in order for me to get her off my back.  Thanks again.

doin better

For the past 3 months I have been trying to get healthier. I quit smoking, I take all of my meds every single day(I have very bad memory, and couldn't ever remember to take them. I even just found out that I'm no longer diabetic. Even though I'm still on my diabetes meds for my PCOS, I know I must be healthier. I don't get sickly as much either.

I still can't seem to get my weight to move from 311 though. It doesn't go up thank god, but damn it won't go down either!!!

My name is Shelley and I am so very ready to lose the weight.  I just weighed myself and I am at 236 and I truly hate that!  I would like to weigh 135.  That is a pretty big goal, but I know I can do it.  I am so tired of shopping in the plus size department or having to get size 3X.  It is so emotional for me!  I am here and I am committed.

I am Ready!!!

My name is Shelley and I am 37 years old.  I weigh 236 and I am ready to be done with the weight!  I would love to get to my goal of 135.  I know this is a big goal, but I know I can do it!  I am so tired of having to shop in the "Plus Size" aisle.  I don't want to have to get size 3X anymore.  I am so embarrassed by that size.  Also, it is very important to me to do this on my own.  No surgery!  I am Ready!

Getting a Little of a Delayed Start!!

Just wanted to stop by and read a few posts before getting to bed.  I just wanted to say thank you to those who sent me a personal email and the person who replied with the great tips to my first posted message.  I will return personal emails maybe tomorrow.  I included a small excerpt from my personal diary entries from the web site so you will be updated on my progress thus far even though it's only been a day or so since posting.  Would love to hear regular updates on how the rest of you are!!

Section from my online diary:

Well, it looks like part of my getting started in my weight loss journey will be postponed a bit.  I have to recover from yesterday morning's car accident before I can safely get my exercise going.  That doesn't stop me from changing the rest of the things I need to change to get going.  I can be and plan to be working on other things like making better and more informed food choices and eliminating things that could be holding me back from doing the work to begin with.  Recovering will give me a chance to get started on re-reading the Dr. Phil weight loss books I have!!  I have to start realizing that there are going to be obstacles and I will find creative ways to work with the obstacles!!

Okay, so that updates everyone so far.  I am alright.  I have a sprained lower back and today I hurt so bad all over that I can hardly move.  The ER gave wonderful meds to help with this for the next little while as I'm healing.  The worst was that I was just in an accident 11 months ago......that one was a hit and run and I was rear ended while I was doing about 35 mph by someone that was evidentally intoxicated and he was doing about 50 mph and I had a lower back sprain from that.  This accident yesterday was a teen speeder not paying attention and rear ended me doing about 40 mph and I was sitting at a stop light.  Needless to say I reinjured my old injury from the last accident and I tensed up so terribly because I saw this one coming that the rest of my body is feeling like the boy actually ran over me.

Anyway........that's how things are going here so far!!  How are things going with all of you guys??  I have a lot of posts to catch up on so maybe I will feel good enough to sit here for a spell and do that tomorrow!!
