need to lose 100 at least

Hi - I am a divorced 46 year old woman - 2 children - one is 21 and one 15.  I am only 5'3" and weight 267 lbs!!!  I really need to lose weight.  I wasn't always this big - gradually packed on the weight after my second son was born.  I have Dr. Phil's book and have read it but never followed it wholeheartedly.  I am willing to try again.  I have a treadmill and exercise bike at home as well as free weights and exercise videos so I basically have no reason not to exercise except for the usual excuses that we all know!!   I hope we can encourage each other here - I am mainly here in the evenings which is my worst time for overeating also.

that is what got me off the couch too was dr.. phil says do it once and be done. or you can still be sitting there next year still weighing the same. I dug up his book also (at least i didn't sell it in a garage sell!! LOL) I don't really have a support system either but I'm ready to go!!!!! lets do this!
I'm 37 years old.  I have 3 kiddos and an awesome husband.  I love my life, my work, my family, my friends...actually, I'm a pretty happy camper.  I hate my weight.  I hate that I cannot seem to get focused for any length fo time.  I hate that weight is the only issue I feel powerless over.  I have 100 pounds to lose too.  I'm looking for support and to give it.  I truly want to feel like I can do this, but, honestly, I'm not totally sure.  5 foot tall and 230 pounds?  Gimme a break!!  There, I told you.  That is part of the 7 keys, yes???  Be accountable and put it out there!

Hi Peggy

Quote From: pegmeg2

I'm so glad that Dr. Phil is doing  a WLC. I loved looking forward to the shows and I lost 135 lbs with the two wlc shows.  After Staying Alive in 2005 , I had to deal with three deaths of people close to me.(my best girlfriend, my boss and my father-in-law) and many set backs on knees and feet and some other health issues. I thought I had overcome my emotional eating.  Not!!  I started putting others first again and not making myself # 1.  Here it is 3 1/2 years later and I've gained 80 % of it back!!  I can't believe that I allow this to happened. I've been gearing up to do this again and On Monday I started.  I weight  269. Huh!!!! Now is the time to put this behind me, for "This is the first day of a new beginning that will change my life."  I know the 7 keys work because I've done it.  Just want you to know that all you need is the book, and you can accomplish anything. I'm hoping to get some support from this site and I would love to email others  I figure I have 109lbs to lose and my goal is to be at 160 lbs.  You can email me pegmeg@sbceo.org. We can all do this and I look forward to reading all your posts.  I'm so sad as Dr. Phil Amazing Weigh Loss Race didn't come on.  They are behind one day because of Tennis!!!!!!  I will watch it tomorrow.

All for now

Peggy

WOW you sure did great back then.  I was one who loved those shows and really missed them.   After losing 100+  using his 7 keys I also hit a wall in 2005.    I let outside issues mess me up and I bounced from 195 - 180 back to 190 over several months until I realized I was in the wrong place.  Today I'm at 190 and very thankful, blessed even to have not regained that 100 as I've seem some of my friends do.

So we do know it works.   I'm here again to gain the support that fell off over the years as support groups died out, online groups folded etc.   But here we are -fresh and knowing what to do.  Hope to see you around the boards alot.   Feel free to email me personally if you wish at Wrappingranny@aol.com

Board growth

As I scan the boards that are growing so very fast I see many posts where people are losing track of their own posts etc.    As this developes I'm sure the staff will see the need and respond with more divisions of groups.  During the first WLC the boards had age groups, diffent weight goal groups, etc.   And many of us formed groups at other sites for more personal contacts.   Key 7 makes it clear that a great support system is your best bet at success and continued success.    But like many other things, the boards died off alot, the challengers moved on with their lives and stopped posting,  yahoo and other groups disappeared and local groups closed their doors.  I still have my yahoo group and it's starting to grow again very slowly.   I belong to another yahoo group that isn't very large but we are steady and still together after all this time.  I love all those members dealy since I know with out them I'd of regained my weight.

I'm hoping that we will be allowed to post links for others to join us as I already see that we are again allowed to post our emails.   So here is my personal email  Wrappingranny@aol.com and for those who think they would also like to be in a personal group email for the link.   Most are older women but all are welcome to write.

To the Staff----I'm so happy that these boards are again growing.  As people learn to navigate it will be easier to stay with it.   And a very big THANKS  for the new series.   Hope to see some of our familars back again   (Monica, Jim, etc)

I would love to be in your circle of support

Quote From: goldsam

Hey everyone...I am a 40 year old mom of three daughters who curently weighs 308.  I have been overweight my entire life and I am ready to start again.  I love when Dr. Phil says "do it once and get it over with" .  I thought I had won this battle 3 years ago after losing 131 pounds  using Dr. Phil's keys but I didn't commit myself fully to it and when my sister was diagnosed with cancer, instead of keeping going like I should have, I basically stopped my life to take care of her and her family, went back to my old habits and gained nearly every pound back..  I can hear Dr. Phil right now saying "stop making excuses" and I understand that.

..

The reality of this issue is that it is killing me and my daughters are following right in my footsteps.  There is a healthy, vibrant, fun loving woman inside of me and I want to find her and set her free.  I am really good at inspiring others but sometimes don't take my own advice. I am excited to join this message board because I don't really have a circle of support around me...so ready...set...let's go!

Hi Goldsam,

I can so relate about winning this weight lost battle three years ago.  I lost 130+ in 2005 and have gain most of it back.  Like you taking care of your sister, I lost my best girlfriend to cancer, along with the death of my boss and my father-in-law all within 10 months.  I focused all of my energy on taking care of my mother-in-law. I don't feel like you are making excuses as you have too know what when wrong and learn from that.  You sound like your a people pleaser like me and that does get in the way of taking care of ourself. I would love to hear from you and we can support each other.  My email is pegmeg@sbceo.org

taking back my life

Hi everyone,  I am a married and have a blended family of five children ages 24, 23, 22, 20, 15 and a grandmother to 3 beautiful babies ages 2yrs. 1yr. 3 mth.  I work in a high stress job and I use the DVR to record Dr. Phil and then play on my computer usually during the weekend or later in the evening if I am not totally exhausted.  Food is my comfort and that is a problem.  I have had the Dr. Phil books for a couple years now and it has been just a placeholder in my bookcase.  I guess It is time to get serious and start taking back my life.  I hope to have a few weight-loss buddies to help with this journey and that is why I am here.  I want my new lifestyle to "stick" and not be a fad which is the way most of my weightloss history has become.

I am ready to get going like everyone else here!

Yeah!!! Dr. Phil for motivating everyone here at this web site. I am excited to see how the people on the show do and see their results. Does anyone know how to find out when the show will be airing the teams again. I am so pumped and need to continue my journey to lose weight.

I am 47 years old and want to lose about 30lbs, but it might as well be 130lbs . I gained back the weight after I lost it a couple years ago and now want to keep it off for good. I now realize if I don't take care of me first , I don't feel like caring for anyone else. When I feel good it flows into the rest of my life.

Sooooooooooo lets get moving!!!!!!!!!! I need a weight lose partner and some one who needs motivation as much as wants to provide it !!!!!!!!!

re:help :-(

I was doing good all week on my weight lose journey until today. I was at a baby shower and I lost the first key.It was like I didn't care and I was thinking" Oh I will get back on track tomorrow and so I ate everything that was there shredded chicken sandwiches, veggies with dip, watermelon, cheesy potatoes and even a piece of cake. How can I think positive all the time when I am coming and going to all these parties I am invited to in the upcoming months? ( weddings and bridal shower) Parts of me don't want to go because I do so good until I get to them and it is like I just lose control :-(

thanks for the reply-I blew it

Quote From: trijenjean

Hi barb, my name is colleen. I am posted on here under trijenjean if you want to read about me. The thing that caught my attention with your story is that I to do very well during the morning and afternoon. Then I can eat, eat, eat, all evening long. So I know the feeling of having that thought daunting your mind endlessly all evening long. I to have just started doing something different in the evening. I work a lot of night shifts, so one of the things i started doing was utilizing the gym I was paying for and not using, on my way to work. It has proved to be 5 lbs less since thursday. I am very excited about that. So keep up the good work and will be looking for you on here.

Hi Colleen,

Thanks for the reply.I blew it today.I posted my message but went to a baby shower today and I just blew away the key of thinking. I was not thinking and I just ate everything that was there and the only thing that would have been good for me was the watermelon and veggies, but I ate it all.I was like" well I will get back on track tomorrow" I have done this all my life and I know that is why I am in the shape I am in" I am so dang mad at myself because I did good all week.
