It been a great week!!!

Hi Everyone,

I posted last night but it never appeared!!  Oh well I will try again. I'm so motived  I lost 5 lbs.  It's just what I need to keep me going.  It's a nice reward for staying on track.  I've been trying really hard to be prepared.  Got all of my food shopping done this weekend.  Carrots, snap peas, and almonds are real life savers.  I love the crunch.  I'm looking at 51 more weeks to go and 104 lbs.  I can do this for the second time and I'm not going to let this weight come back.  I really enjoy reading all of your posts.  I can so relate to many of them.  They really help me to stay motivated. I just want you to know you can do this.  It's all about the choices we make.  Have a great week

Peggy G

ps  Did you know there's a weight loss widget  on the site.  you can enter your weight weekly and they grafts it for you!!!  It's pretty neat

I have HOPE

Quote From: cocl_siri

Hello Folks, my name is Elaine. I'm sick of carrying around this extra weight... it's been over 10 years since I gained 100#. I've lost a little (25#) and then have gained it back a few times already, so I am ready to STOP this yo-yo habit for good! My goal is to be at a healthy weight by my 50th birthday (1 yr 4 mos away). I also acknowledge that I cannot do this on my own (yo-yo!), so I am hopeful that by joining this #100 Club I will hold myself more accountable as well as find encouragement/tips via others who have as much weight to lose as I do. My husband is a wonderful life partner, has been supportive and has encouraged me to lose the weight for my health, so I also want him to be proud of me too. I want and need to do it this time!

I love to cook and I'm not a fast food junky, but I also LOVE desserts (chocolate, ice cream, pie)--which is just as unhealthy when eaten as a daily "expectation" rather than as a treat). Portion control is my biggest issue, followed by sporadic exercise. Up until 6 mos ago, my husband and I were working out regularly (for nearly 1.5 yrs). Now we're ready to get back into a regular exercise routine again. I do have exercise dvds for home use, so I am acknowledging I have no excuse when we cannot get to the gym.

My plans for tonight:
* Since I have "portion control" issues, I'm going to go back to "half-ing" my meal... that has always worked for me in the past... at home as well as at restaurants
* I will begin exercising tonight... if we cannot get to the gym, then I'll use one of my exercise dvds at home
* I will FIND my copy of Dr Phil's weight loss book (it's around here SOMEwhere!!!) and spend at least 15-20 min reading

HERE'S TO OUR HEALTH!

Hi Elaine:

I too have portion control issues and half-ing my meals has worked in the past.  My problem is fixing my meals to take to work with me and eating my 3 meals and1 to 2 snacks a day.  I will skip breakfast and snack at lunch and then eat a huge meal at night.  I know that's not good for me and I know the only way I'm going to get healthy is to as Dr. Phil says get real.

I have to push myself to do this.  I will be 49 in December and I would love to be at a healthy weight by the time I'm 50.  You are so lucky to have a supportive partner in your husband.  I have turned to my daughters who are 24 & 26 to be my lifelines.

We CAN do this!

Susanne

Ahh yes......

Quote From: ultimategoal

I began exercising approx 8 weeks ago and was experiencing the same types of aches and pains , but as time has progressed the pain has decreased. I have gone from 340lbs to 315lbs and want to encourage you to keep up the great work.
Those darn pains that seem mysterious...has anyone else blamed them on aging or past injuries, only to realize finally that they are due to the extra weight? :-)

getting started

Quote From: suprmaum123

I would be happy to share accountability with you.  I am 57 year old female with a lot to lose. I have belonged to a gym for almost 10 years and I'm in pretty good shape for the shape I'm in.  At one time I could leg press 550 pounds, but a back injury (not related to lifting) set me back.  Now I use the cardio machines and swim but I haven't done weights for over a year and I need to get back to that.

For the last 3 years and 3 months I have belonged to Weight Watchers but have not done well.  Just not motivated.  Now we have a new leader that has moved me to action.  Between her, WW and Dr. Phil I am hoping for success this time.

My current goal is to keep a food diary every day for this week..... starting tomorrow.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Quote From: luv_anyway

Hey everyone! My name is Jess! If you red my profile you already know a little about me... and if you haven't I encourage you to do so! I am a twenty year old single, living, breathing, fun, loving, goofy, happy, BLESSED, friend, serious, shy, inspirational, sister, daughter, hard working, dreamer, achiever, beleiver, giver, hungry woman of God who has a sincere passion for helping the lost, the broken, and basically everyone else. If I could save the world I would, but obviously that isn't possible! BUT, nothing is to big for God... anything is possible with GOD. I love allowing God to work through me to help others. I realize I can't save the world, but God can... through me... and other people... one person at a time.

Moving on... I want to lose weight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My goal is 100 pounds baby!!!!!! I need help and inspiration, I promise to do the same in return! I totally beleive that we can do this! These extra pounds that I have carried have held me back for far to long. I am ready to LIVE my life! These chains will be broken and I am going to be set free and so will you!!! Get ready guys... spead your wings because we are going to fly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God Bless

Jess

Jess, I really love your energy and your self description.  This whole weight loss experience is never easy but you are certainly starting off with the right mind set.  I appreciate and applaud your acknowledgement and your "personal truth" that God is in all things we do and will continue to do be.

If you are looking for an email buddy, please let me know.  I am older than you but we do have many things in common:  God in our lives, single women, wanting to be at a healthy weight, etc.

Keep it up and you will be just fine for the rest of your life.

I need a Buddy, too

Quote From: mastudent

I was wondering if anyone would like to be my "buddy" even if we don't live anywhere near each other - kind of like someone to hold us accountable. Anyone interested?

I would like to be a buddy with someone.  I live alone and hate trying to do this alone.

My name is Kerry and my email is revkjselseth@redred.com

Hope to hear from you.

Much luck to us all.

Sounds Good!

Quote From: ultimategoal

Hi , 44 yr old male and I'm look looking to be apart of an online accountability group. Either to join or begin a small group. I have just began exercising approx 8 weeks ago and have gone from 340 to 315lbs. I like everyone else need encouragement to strive forward, but I also hope to be an encouragement to others.

I also need a "buddy" with whom I can be accountable.  My trouble is the exercise portion of the equation.  I really need motivation there.  I tend to have an "all or nothing" attitude about this exercise.  Either I figure I have to run a marathon or what good is just a little going to do for me.  Well, I can't run a marathon so I tend to not exercise.

We are very close in age.  I am sure we could help each other and other people as well.

Good luck and hope to hear from you.

hi i'm from nc also

Quote From: tuff1430

I'm hoping this will allow me to help myself get motivated to lose weight. My weight is killing me. I'm over 60 lbs overweight and this is the first time in my life I've ever had to deal with weight problems. I dont know how to handle it. I keep thinkin what dr phil says about eating to live or living to eat. I dont know what catagory I fall in. I dont eat that much but I dont choose healthy either and its a hard thing to break. I work so much I fall into the fast food catagory. I have horse so I exercise quite often but not hard enough per my dr. Just need help and motivation......

i'm from nc also and i need to lose 70 lbs.  i lost 3.5 last week and it was my first week.  the first week is always good for me.  i can't exercise that much because i have meniere's disease--inner ear disease--so i'm starting with portions and the types of food i eat.  i'll be 55 tomorrow and i feel it.  i lost alot of weight in 1989 and kept it off until my only child died in an automobile accident 5 years ago and i also got meniere's 5 yrs ago.  it's been a very difficult time for me.  i'm just starting to care alittle about myself again.  i moved 3 yrs ago.  changed jobs because i had to because of my disease.  hope we can encourage each other thru this process.  good luck.  my email address is beachhome05@yahoo.com.
