Talk About the Show

 Hi Dr. Phil,

I watched your Christmas giveaway show today. Although I was happy for the people who received those gifts, I could not help but think of all the people watching who will not have a Christmas this year.Me included. If all those companies can give that much away why not spread it around the country?  All my children are grown and I have grandchildren now . This is the first year I can't get them a gift. They all understand. The factoy where I worked closed and I did find another job, but their work is slow so I don't always get a full week in so I struggle to pay monthly bills. This year my kid's and grandkids are getting my thoughts and memories of them typed and put in a frame. It's not much but that's not what Christmas is supposed to be about. I just kept thinking while I watched your show if those companies that donated gifts just gave five more each and sent them around to different states to agencies that know of people that need things that would help some families out so much, I am fortunate not to have had to use the agencies yet.  I am just glad to have a roof over my head. at least for this month. A person never knows.

One day you have a good job and money in the bank, the next you can be jobless and broke.

What about your Mom

I often watch your show and how you dilgently accomany Robin off every day.  That is a wonder committment and I commend you for that.  You were fortunate enough to have your wife, daughter-in-law and sons walk off with you yesterday but I was very disappointed that you did not escort your lovely mother off the stage with you.  Perhaps it was mobility problems, I don't know and is none of my business but for all of the Christmas story endings that are heart-filling at this time of year - that would of really made me proud of you.

Merry Christmas to all of your family and keep up the great work.  The best thing in life is a smile on a child's face (anytime of year).

Extremes of Christmas

December 17, 2008

Dear Dr. Phil and Robin

I really enjoyed your show today on the extremes of Christmas. What really disturbed me about the show was that no one mentioned the real reason of the celebration of Christmas.  Christmas is an annual festival of the Christian church commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ and an occasion for exchanging gifts.  Everyone gets court up in the giving and the receiving and no one acknowledges the reason for it all.  (The birth of Jesus)  Maybe next year someone just might focus on the real reason of the holyday and not so must on Santa Claus.

         Thank you,

         Montford Milton

BAD Gifts

Hi there:

I am a mother of 4, but at the time of the "incident" I was a mother of 2 boys and one on the way.  My husband and his friend decided to spend a day shopping for gift.  I was so excited that he would take that time and energy to look for something for me....

Much to my surprise on Christmas morning I rushed to open my gift.....

It was a ....get ready for it...

A BEARD AND MUSTASHE TRIMMER

Yep, that is right.  After several minutes of being appealed and a little concerned that I must be missing something about my hygiene....we were getting ready to go to his families for dinner, .....he asked me if I could SHAVE HIS NECK!!!!!

UGH!!!!

The worst Christmas gift I ever got

The worst Christmas gift I ever got was 3 potted flowering plants. Everyone knows I even kill weeds (which not a bad thing if I was trying to kill weeds. I wanted to go into a lawn care business with someone. They take care of everything thats supposed to live and I take care of the weeds!) Needless to say, within a week they were all dead!

Grandma Claus

Grandma Claus needs a mental check up.  Tell her to use the money to help unfortunate children celebrate the real spirit of Christmas - Jesus Christ.  It is because of people like Grandma Claus that individuals who are not familiar with Jesus Christ are so resistant to him. So sad. So sad.

Mental Health care and Obama Transition

The Obama transition team is asking people to submit their opinions on the health care issue.  It would be great if Dr. Phil could devote one or more shows to his suggestions, and those of his mental health colleagues, on what the new administration should do in the area mental health care.  The point of view of such an expert as Dr. Phil would be highly valuable.  There are some elected officials, such as state senate president and former acting governort Codey of NJ, who are very committed to the issue of mental health care.  Codey pushed for the building of a new state hospital.  When he was acting governor he dropped in on the state hospital during the summer and found the air conditioners and fans off, and ordered the staff to make the conditions comfortable for the patients.  He also dropped in in December and spent the night sleeping over there to see how the patients were doing.  The US has the opportunity to make progress on mental health care, given the interest in health care legislation.

Thank you to our Vetrans

I am the daughter of  a Marine.  He served in Vietnam.  My step father was in the Army and served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm.  My maternal Grandfather was Navy and served in WWII.  My paternal Grandfather was Marine and served in The Korean War.  My father in-law was a marine and did 3 tours in Vietnam.  So as you can tell todays show touched me in many ways.  I am so happy to see some one of your caliber addressing this crisis.  I love being an American and am proud to be American.  I give thanks and honer to all the men and women who give up their lives and so much more for me to live the life I live.  It seems to me that everyone wants to support our troops while they are fighting for our freedom and allowing us to live like we do.  But when our troops come home they are tossed aside and forgotten.  This topic outrageous me and absolutely makes me sick.  Something has to be done.  The care and well being of our troops and their families should be one of the countries TOP priorities.  But it is not.  I have spent time in the VA hospital in Danville Ill.  And it infuriates me.  I would not allow my dog to treated the way these people are.  Something must be done.   What can I do?????

I'm so upset that they change Dr. Phil's time to 5:00. We never missed the show. I can tape and I will still watch it at 8:00.Some of my friends can't tape it and are really disapointed. At 8:00 we want to watch a family show not the news. I also sent an e-mail to kron4listens.  I may have sent this to the wrong place but it's  my first time. Sorry if I did. Linda

I was wondering if anybody can help me . My girlfriends loves Dr Phil, see really loves the song that leads the show off. I am trying to get it for her for christmas, Can anybody tell me the title to it and who sings it ?
