NOT FOR SALE
THANK YOU DR PHIL & JULIA ORMOND & JUSTIN DILLON
THANK YOU so much for having this show and for raising awareness on this issue. I too am out here working to raise awareness, but this topic persists in being a topic no one wants to talk about. At the same time, the number of men and now women using online sex services and prostitution is climbing daily with no check and balances in place in American legal or justice system, no regulation, and no law enforcement. I have begun to wonder if prostitution is really legal in America online? And do the users of porn online know what is going on behind the scenes to make the images of what they are getting off to?
I am just an average woman living in today’s commodified consumer based culture where it often seems that everything is for sale. I would never have known about this issue either, except for knowing the wrong man. I, like many women, have been the victim of pornography and prostitution through my ex-fiancé/boyfriend who I caught just after he proposed marriage to me. I caught him using online pornography extensively and seeking prostitutes online some as young as 15 years old on Craigslist, and The Other Board among other sites like Adult Friend Finders and more.
Hundreds of these sites exist with no regulation, and they advertise their illegal commodities (flesh for sale or hardcore xxx) under the privilege of the First Amendment. Does calling them "escorts" instead of "prostitutes" allow this to go on all over the web with no law enforcement? If so what’s in a word? We all know what they are selling. You can Google for an escort and find thousands of search responses doing a basic Google Search in under .09 seconds: [Results 1 - 10 of about 26,300,000 for escorts [definition]. (0.09 seconds) Google Results].
Still, Its hard to believe that in the time of HIV/AIDS people are even more callous about having random sex with strangers and prostitution than ever. I always tell men I am meeting that I do not date men who have one night stands, have a history which includes one night stands, or have paid for sex, or have ever cheated in a committed relationship
PLEASE VISIT MTV's IS YOUR SEX LIFE: http://www.kff.org/youthhivstds/upload/MTV_Think_IYSL_Booklet.pdf
The CDC is reporting that 1 in 5 adults now have some form of STD at any given time, herpes is the most common. AND everyone still dating should understand and learn about HPV (common genital warts - 99% of us has some strains of this - but having more sex partners increases the chance of making this dangerous, condoms do not stop it, as we get more and more strains of it from each partner - keeping in mind that you are sleeping with each person your curent lover has slept with too, which makes having a sexual past history or record from each partner really important, I thin we should have a dating resume -you can't get a job without a resume, why should you get sex without one!!! ) as it has recently been related in research studies to cancers in both men and women.
I tell men proudly that as a woman I would not date someone who has more than a handful of intimate partners, engaged in one night stands or hookups with strangers, has ever cheated on anyone ever (and this includes lying, and lying by omission), or who has had paid liaisons. I am looking for that honorable man who has respect, integrity, and character in every area of his life, and especially his love life and I know how hard this is to find in a world where everyone is for sale. I’d rather be single.
Internet Trafficking and Predation is now a silent epidemic - Please visit these links to learn what you can do...The stats show that nearly 90% of women "working" in the sex industry have been raped or molested in their life times. There' something disturbing about this trend toward making a group of society's most sexually traumatized individuals our erotic role models....-Pamela Paul, Pornified http://www.oprah.com/slideshow/oprahshow/20080911_tows_predators/1

The First Amendment does not protect obscenity. Paraphrasing From Dr. Gail Dines Lecture at Denver University 2007: "What does democracy look like when a handful of corporations control the cultural discourse? What does it mean to talk about Free Speech in a society where 30 seconds of speech costs $330, 000 in prime time? Free Speech is now the most expensive commodity in our media driven, corporate society. In a media culture (Howard Stern driven) the only way to be heard is through access to this media. We are only as good as our culture. The pornographers have hijacked this culture, and they did it without a battle. But there comes a time when we must ask: At what point can society no longer tolerate this? We cannot hand this culture over anymore. We all deserve better than a porn-culture. It's time we really fight back. And its time that we no longer get sold on this shallow argument that we are against free speech, when we are take a stand against pornography and sexualized violence against women and children and ultimately men too."
See the Marilyn Monroe film: The Misfits In a world where everything is for sale, anyone can relate to the issues addressed in THE MISFITS with Marilyn Monroe who herself died of a broken heart, pimped out by the high paying men in her life. Considering that wage slaves have replaced slaves, we would all know what the phrase "anything is better than wages" implies! One of the major themes of the movie is also prostitution (selling what is sacred for "wages") -- though very subtle, Marilyn's character is a "dancer in night clubs" - a stripper, or erotic dancer we all assume b/c in those days such things were not spoken of in a direct manner. But she has herself been "for sale." The ultimate brutality is selling the sacred feminine, this makes life cheap. It is one of the worst corruptions of Western society and we are all blind to it right now. But if we each educate ourselves there is hope of turning this blind ignorance into knowing better and doing better oneday. really shows how the voices of nature need to be heard and understood by men, and what happens when men use their brute strength to silence this wisdom. I love how setting free the wild horses becomes a metaphor for this wisdom and for setting all of the characters in this free from the albatross of "a wage based value system" which makes of all of us prostitutes and murderers - pimps and whores...the animals of this planet and all living things deserve to be treated with the most profound respect we can learn and teach ourselves – this is having a contract with all that is sacred – but our world is increasingly losing sight of this, nd its wrong, and we know it and we all do - If men will not listen, to women as life bearers, and to nature, then we all lose, and the world is brutalized and polluted. I love this quote from the film addressing the largesse of the eternal inner victim: "You could blow up the world and all you'd feel is sorry for yourself." – Marilyn Monroe’s Character.

ALSO, what this does is ruinous and devastating, beyond rape - and people are sexually gratifyng and relieving themselves to this horror - again a devastating death of empathy and disconnect between the sexes.
Please read the Truth Behind the Fantasy....[Excerpt] "The truth is there is no fantasy in porn. It's all a lie. A closer look into the scenes of a porn star's life will show you a movie that the porn industry doesn't want you to see. The real truth is we porn actresses want to end the shame and trauma of our lives but we can't do it alone. We need you men to fight for our freedom and give us back our honor. We need you to hold us in your strong arms while we sob tears over our deep wounds and begin to heal. We want you throw out our movies and help piece together the shattered fragments of our lives. So don't believe the lie anymore. Porn is nothing more than fake sex and lies on videotape. Trust me, I know." - Former Sex Industry Worker
ALSO watch the trend toward hardcore xxx as it increasingly enters the mainstream consciousness since no one is taking this issue very seriously now: "People who view it on a regular basis need more and more graphic stuff and eventually they dig a hole for themselves," says Abel. "They need more and more to get aroused." www.reuniting.org

How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale Jenna Jameson Neil Strauss http://www.southendpress.org/2007/items/87767
"There comes a moment in every life when a choice must be made between right and wrong, between good and evil, between light and darkness..."
Review From Publishers Weekly: With its wit (the book is dedicated to Onan), its victim narrative (multiple sexual assaults), its celebrity dish (Howard Stern is actually well endowed), and its frank, one-fisted prose style ("After three hours of sweaty, psychotic sex, she handed me a huge black strap-on"), the queen of porn's autobiography is destined to become a lowbrow classic. Jameson's career began at 16, when she fell for Jack, a tattoo artist. At a party, Jack's neo-love uncle raped Jameson. Unable to face her father, a Las Vegas cop, she moved in with Jack. Within a year, she went from high school cheerleader to stripper to nude model to porn actress, with a stop along the way to become a crack addict. Jameson's life wasn't so much a downward spiral as a freefall into darkness.
But, as the porn world would have it, the harder she fell, the more everyone wanted her, and she quickly became a top nude model and porn star, and the country's highest-paid feature dancer, all while leaving a path of carnage worthy of several rock bands. Beneath Jameson's monstrous diva exterior, however, was a girl who just wanted to become a loving mother and wife. After many failures, she finally succeeded, and her X-rated book ends on an uplifting family-values note. Jameson's life was a mess, and with its multiple formats (interview transcripts, movie scripts, advice sidebars, diary entries, cartoon strips), so is this book. But it's a remarkably appealing and honest mess, and should earn Jameson some of the mainstream acceptance she so clearly desires.
Worldwide tragedy: U.S. not immune to sexual slavery. Women's issues are still in crisis as well around the globe. In many nations around the globe women cannot take care of themselves and are given no recourse to do so. They cannot read or write, do not know their rights, have no voice, cannot vote, cannot hold property, run a business, or establish financial or land holdings. In many places women still have no rights, and can be legally raped and murdered. In some places in the world if a woman turns a man's marriage proposal down she can have acid thrown into her face marring it forever. In some countries in Africa and Asia they still practice clitoral mutilation.
Prostitution, the oldest profession, sees 1 in 3 women in Africa contract HIV/AIDS while working to feed their starving children and in Russia the incidence is also very high. These women are selling what should never be bought or sold and no man of honor would participate in letting this situation continue, much less suppress the voices of women with the courage of conviction to speak out against these crimes against humanity and against women the world over....
A Man Speaks Against Pornography Listen here to to Robert Jensen's discussion of the reach and impact of pornography in US society...Paraphrasing from Robert Jensen:
"Porn is used to get men in the mood to kill - military Connection."
"Pornography and the death of empathy : men are being trained to ignore the expierences and feelings of women. Women in pornography are systematically subjected to cruelty and humiliation. This is a death of empathy. This plays out in public contexts all the time. its a serious problem in this culture. In a predatory corporate capitolist system, we have to constantly struggle to reconnect as human beings.

Human trafficking is a crime against humanity.
