The discussion continues regarding Nadya Suleman, a single mother of six children, who recently gave birth to a set of octuplets. How will she care for 14 babies? Are the newborns at risk? Will this mother be able to provide stability, or are the 14 children destined for a life of neglect and poverty? Speak out!

Find out what happened on the show.

octuplets

I think that the Dr. who opted to perform this proceedure to this woman should be held responsible for all medical costs.  It's obvious that this woman has some very serious mental problems, and having more children was not the answer to her problems.  If the Drs. has to pay for this, it probably wouldn't happen again.  Also, the CPS needs to custody of them, she cannot handle this, emotionally, or fiancially.

Are you kidding me?????!!

I cannot believe this!  What makes her think she is so special and such a supermom that she could handle this?  If you cannot provide financially or emotionally for the kids you are having then don't have them!  Kids deserve better than to have a life built upon taking care of their siblings, their mom and their grandma!  Kids need to be kids, not grown ups!  I was reading my newspaper on line and came across an article that says that "wonder mom" is now taking credit card donations through PayPal!  How can PayPal even advocate this type of behavior?  They just lost my patronage!  What a scam!  How many more is SHE going to have any way?  What does it take for the "system" to step in and say enough is enough!"?  Why should the public be responsible for her idiocity?  I agree that the kids should not be punished for her mistakes, but something needs to be done.  Maybe finding parents that would love, honor and cherish these kids. People with the proper resources and loving home and environment to raise them.

If she cannot afford a home for these kids, where does she get the money to have plastic surgery?  Get the money to have IVP?  I would like to have a breast augmentation but you don't see me taking donations on PayPal to get it done!

Insecure!

Nadya is immature, insecure, and desperate for attention, and simply based on that, she should not be a parent! She is in no way capable of taking care of fourteen children, and she's taking a risk with innocent lives at stake. She's creating a horrible environment for these children and she desperately needs mental assistance. I feel so sorry for those fourteen children and the circus their whole world has become.

I haven't been reading the boards...

...but a few things arose when I watched the Dateline interview:

1) She has student loans. Dr. Phil said she might get $40'000 when she graduates.

Not only is this an impossible situation financially, but she will have to pay student loans on top of her expenses.

2) Is she using her student loans for living expenses?

Someone needs to audit her finances. I'm surprised anything has been hidden from the IRS.

3) She won't admit it now, but she will be receiving endorsements. Every time a multiple birth (quads or more), they receive money from ads, donations, etc.  This is precisely what her "PR agent" will work to exploit. Also, when will someone direct a significant sum out of concern - to help the kids' situation.

4) Psychology issues. At some point, the original six will feel completely pushed aside.  This will cause a lot of problems, now and in the future.

5) There are plenty of people who adopt large numbers of children, particularly those who are special needs.  How is that different?  Those families control how many they have at a time. When they are "saturated", they don't adopt additional ones.

6) Who paid for her braces?

Irresponsible

This woman must be out of her mind to consider having even ONE more child, let alone 8!  She's living in her parent's home and has no job and now has a website begging for money!  This is totally disgraceful and the State of CA should take her children (all of them) away from  her.  However, this will not happen and the taxpayers will bear the burden.

Totally disgraceful!!!

If she were married this wouldn't be....

To all who are complaining about this woman's decision:

If this woman was married this subject wouldn't even be an issue. It is absurd. Because I was a young mother and had two failed marriage I had to raise my children on my own. I have a daughter and son-in-law who have 7 children all under the age of 11, and they may not be rich or even educated but they have always have made it and their children are very well atken care of, they bought their own house, he works and she stays at home.

Leave this woman alone and start looking at your own problems!!!!

02/12 Octuplets Scandal

I think it's crazy for anyone to have to help or feel the need to help this woman.  I don't.  My husband and I struggle everyday and don't get a dime.  We live paycheck to paycheck and do the best we can to raise our 3 boys.  She knew the cost of children.  Look at the way she was living.  She is not of sound mind and those kids should be taken away and given to someone who can care for them properly.  Stop wasting my tax dollar on someone who's not being responsible.  This is an outrage.

02/12 Octuplets Scandal

Quote From: kovucat8

The answer to this problem is very simple.

First if you don't have kids, or want more, but can't afford them (look up how much it costs each year to raise a kid) - don't

If it is too late, as in this case, then the state should come in and take the kids away and place them in homes where parents can provide for them.

This would solve many of the problems in this world.

The SPCA does it for animals, I don't understand why it shouldn't be the same for children who will become our future society.

I find it so ironic that when her 2 young children were questioned both claimed that they definately are not looking forward to the babies coming home.  Funny how her 6 year olds have more brains then she does.  Oh yes I forgot it is probably because they are the ones raising their younger brother and sisters while their mother is out getting her nails done and knocked up.  Who goes for IVF again when you have 1 year old twins at home?  I guess 6 kids with 1 year old twins (1 being autistic) weren't enough.

My thoughts to a T.  She's not of sound mind.  Those kids should be taken away and given to someone who can care for them properly.  Stop expecting the rest of us to pay for her stupidity.

Two Issues

First, I do feel for the babies and the children that had been born previous to the eight new babies. Yes, they are innocent but in an outpouring of help for this family are we not sending the wrong message? This is NOT okay for those kids to be in that inviornment and as a mother myself, she doesn't deserve to even bring those children home from the hospital....let all those doctors help support them in a proper home.

who cares!!!!

This thing happens everyday in this country people having children they can't afford to raise and then they continue to have more just for the  government to give them money to live off.  Yes, this is an issue that needs to be addressed  but its been happening and its going to continue, so why waste out time on her when there is worst cases!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
