Six thousand women enter menopause every day, and studies have shown that the fairer sex can experience menopausal and perimenopausal symptoms as early as their 20s and 30s. Dr. Phil’s wife, Robin, author of What’s Age Got to Do with It? is on a mission to show the ladies how to embrace life changes with dignity and grace! First up, Robin recounts her own emotional and physical struggles with the change of life. Learn how she was able to get a handle on her mood swings and hot flashes. Then, Becky says she hasn’t gotten a good night's sleep in 12 years, and when she looks in the mirror, she sees a woman who has aged 10 years in 12 months. Find out what happens after Robin takes Becky under her wing! Next, meet a 33-year-old who says she’s chronically exhausted and lacks libido. What’s at the root of her condition? And, can men experience menopause? Learn the surprising facts! Plus, meet a physician who says she learned important hormone tips from Robin’s appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and hear from a woman who ignored her health symptoms and nearly lost her life. Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

ME, Too! What can I do in Virginia?

Hi there,
I live in Richmond, Va.  I just saw the show about Bioidentical Hormones, and feel totally desperate!  I am 56 years old, have been taking 4 Prozac a day for years, Topamax twice a day for agonizing Migraines, and still feel awful.
I am convinced that my hormones are all out of whack!
I would LOVE to feel good again!  And, of course, sexy--my husband would be most appreciative, too!
Of course, my doctor doesn't go along with the alternative medicine theories, and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, CFS, and the myriad of illnesses that go along with those things years ago.
I need a Hall Clinic here!
I have a Master's Degree in Social Work that I would LOVE to put to Better Use!  I currently teach one class at our local university, but I want to do MORE, but my health prevents it.
Robin, you beautiful woman, you give me HOPE!
Can you offer help?
Sincerely,
RubyRoberts

Finally help is on the way

Hi Dr. Phil,
I watched your show today and was amazed to find out there are alot of other people
suffering from the same symptoms I have been suffering with for the last 12-15 years.
I was wondering if there is a center like the Hall center Close to where I live and how
do I find it?

I am 26!

i was just watching the show on hormones and when the mother that is 33 came on i just cried. i realized that it was me. i have a 2 year old son and i want so badly to play with him but i am always tired. i even joined a gym to work out more to restore my energy and that hasn't helped. my nights are mostly restless and i am sick and tired of that! my best friend was diagnosed menopausal when she was 21 and i thought that was extremely rare. but for the last year i am noticing that i am more and more tired and more and more moody. my sex drive is almost non existent too. i am too tired or just not interested anymore. i have briefly thought of getting my hormones tested but thought i was too young. i have to now! i want to thank robin and dr. phil so very much for bringing this to me. when the dr. you have on the show said that she has girls as young as 12 with hormone deficiencies that really made me think i could too. thank you very much! i am going to get mine checked!

SOS!

  Oh Robin,

I cannot believe how bad I have become. To hear that there is help!
I watched you on Oprah. Watched Susan Sommers. Then watched your show today Cried the whole time! So embarrassed. . What has become of me. I don't want to be like this!
I am the worst!  So bad that I have lost my boyfriend of 15yrs. I have no sex drive what so ever!
I'm moody. No motivation. Brain dead. No energy. Gained 30lbs. I can lay on the couch for days.
I feel like I'm in a cloud. Fuzzy head. Like a zombie. I am so desperate.
How do I find a Dr. and can I afford this. I feel that if I don't try this, what is left? Please help me!

I didnt believe!!!

I have to say thank you! I thought that the reason I wasn't able to have sex the way that I once did was because of my back surgery. There was a lot of things on today's show that made me believe that I might actually have male menopause. I just need to be able to find some one around here that can take me as a patient.

Bio Identical hormones

I do not think insurance nor medicare pays for these hormones. I have battled  this for a long time with my insurance. My mother could not afford hormones and she needed them, but medicare programs will not cover the cost. But most insurance pays for men to get viagra. I have a big problem with this. I recently told my doctor that we need to have a class action law suit against insurance companies regarding this matter and she said she would back me. Dr. Phil or Robin can you please bring this up on your show. Insurance will not pay for compounding medication. HELP!  This is so wrong even my doctor agrees. I can not fight insurance companies by myself. Do you all find this to be true?

Diabetes & Hormones

I am diabetic and I have my diabetes under control. But I do have all the symptoms, depressed, irritable, tired w/ no energy. I have told my doctor and his response is that these are side effects from my diabetes, is anybody else in the same boat as me? Should I see another doctor or just try to get my doctor to do the tests. I have good insurance and they will cover the tests, but my doctor still does not want to set it up.

bhrt didn't work out for me

I am 59 years old and had a late menopause (56).  I finally did the whole thing.  Saliva hormone testing, then went to a bodylogicmd doctor and went on bioidentical hormone treatment.  It made me fat, and I felt like I had pms all the time.  It just didn't do anything to make me feel better and so finally, after trying to tweak the whole thing, decided it just wasn't for me.  I was very excited about taking charge of my own health and  so it was very disappointing to me.  The Doctor told me that it makes almost everyone feel significantly better so I guess I was just one of the unusual ones.
