What would drive a young man with a bright and promising future to allegedly commit such a brutal crime? Dr. Phil goes behind the headlines and takes a look inside the life of the accused Craigslist killer Philip Markoff. He speaks to a close college buddy of the Boston University medical student and also hears from a photographer who had worked with Julissa Brisman, the murdered woman who advertised her masseuse services on Craigslist. What does the hotel surveillance footage reveal on the night Julissa was shot? Plus, Markoff's fiancée claims that the clean-cut student couldn't have committed such a heinous act. Dr. Phil deconstructs a case that has shocked the country. You don't want to miss this riveting show! Join the discussion.

They don`t need criticism?

Quote From: manofgoods

So what else is new? Do you expect something any differently? Families, friends, & significant others will always defend the people that are very close to them; regardless whatever they've done something awful or horrific. They certainly don't need criticism on what they believe.
There are things they need worse than that. Such as the wake up call that could save their life! Their beliefs could make them vulnerable to becoming the next victim. This man`s fiancee needs to think twice before continuing her involvement with him!

Yes, I do !!!

I expect something very different.  I expect families, friends and significant others to do what is RIGHT.

What to hell happened to TRUTH, VALUES, ETHICS, MORALS.  LAWFUL BEHAVIOR?  The RIGHT things?

Criticism?

Just exactly how is a sociopath formed?

Perhaps we could ask  some of Scott Peterson's family.

Give me a break.

Maybe!

And shame on me, too! What do you think theyll do to us. Make us listen to algorian chants 24/7?
I'm sure the anti-morals police will find some horrific punishment for us. Can you believe that prostitution and being a passenger in an airplane would or could ever be compared to each other?

Too many people seemingly expect their children to raise themselves while they`re selfishy doing their own thing. They ignore one warning sign after another until they wake up wondering why their child just gunned down a dozen people. Duh!

Are you aware that his parents moved to the area near the prison just so they can be near their precious and 'wrongly' convicted perfect child? When Scott went to college his father moved away from his mother (so she could run their business) because he couldn't bear to be that far away from his little boy. His parents helped him to become a sociopath! Disgusting!

Craiglist Killer is a Chameleon

The thing that truly stands out  about this man is how easy he was able to blend into his surroundings"chameleon". He is even more dangerous because he was able move about with relative ease. When I see him I think of Ted Bundy who charmed his way into killing more than 35 women (that he admitted to... experts know there are more) Everyone wants to believe this man is innocent because of his looks and the questions Why didn't the girfriend know? What does that have to do with it? Most men have secrets they don't want their girlfriend/wife to know about...Perhaps they like eating candy on the weekends with their buddies or they look at porno mags/movies when they are alone.

This guy is methodical he went to CraigsList picked out  a specific woman fantasized about her chose to rob her and then killed her...Fortunately for all of us he left a trail of  pictures from the hotel lobby video tape that  led to his arrest.

Notice he is only under arrest he has not been convicted yet so we will just have to wait and see what happens. This is a wake up call to everyone that just because you live in a somewhat secure beautiful neighborhood doesn't mean that there isn't a killer living right next door. BE Safe BE Warned.

for manofgoods

Quote From: cadescove99

It is often these peoples refusal to face the facts, that are often staring them right in the face, that allow lesser crimes to escalate into something horrific. And, lying to the authorities will bring more than criticism. Such as doing their own time for perjury!

When people start standing up and turning in the sickos and the criminals that they know whether they are relatives or not the world will be on the right track. This guy LOOKS guilty, and his girlfriend ought to be thanking God that she found out about him before she married him. She should have kept her mouth shut and said NOTHING because she is going to look like a fool when he is convicted.

one of you said, people are always going to stand up for the people they love, well that is not true, What about tough love, some people are only going to change their behavior when those who love them quit protecting them, quit making excuses for them, quit bailing them out. I'm glad they caught him when they did. I don't believe in the erotic listings on craigslist, but no one should be killed because of them.

If the family wants to support him, then let them $$$upport him

Headlines today:  Craigslist Killing Suspect ..... can't afford a lawyer !

Owes more than $130,000. in student loans, for school and can't hire an attorney.

Seems, according to the news, his history sheds light on money for gambling.

Why should taxpayers pay for this attorney.

Family wants to support him, in-spite the alleged crimes.....GO AHEAD $$$, $UPPORT HIM !

Innocent Until Proven Guilty

Since when did the public become the court of law. This show is ridiculous. It's absolutely shameful. In fact, it is the reason why hundreds of years ago, thousands of women were hanged because they were witches. I get that there is a ton of evidence against this guy, but this is not for us to judge. This is for the judge and jury to decide. I have no problem discussing the dangers of using craigslist. Let's just not crucify the accused before he's even had a trial. I think it's unbelievable that everyone has decided his fate.

Not only that, how can people turn on his fiance. People hide the worst of things from their spouses, no matter how large/small the space is. It's downright shameful how this poor women has to face the fact that potentially the man she loves did this and to face the accusations of other people questioning how she could not have known. Shame on the commentators on this show. Shame on Dr. Phil for allowing this.

graigslit killer

I am so sick and tired of hearing that when a white person who goes to school commits a crime and people kept saying that "oh he lives in a nice neighborhood, he comes from a good family, it's hard to believe that he would do something like that". I do not have have problems with races, because i come from the islands, but all i see here in the USA whenever a white person does something wrong like killing someone the white race community is shocked. But what do we know about that person, he may had problems in his childhood, for examples: hating his mother, or maybe a woman hurt him etc...this is why so many people get away with murder, when they are white, educated, come from a nice neighborhood and a nice family, or they are other race and have money. Wake up America stop being so naive!
